@Wesley9516 Well it can be a bit complex to use for sure, requires a bit of training first. If it keeps flipping you need to make sure you are not trying to drive in too steep angles. It requires quite careful operating. If your hydrogen engine has run out of hydrogen and batteries out of power you are in a bit of a problem though this creates a nice small challenge for you to engineer an solution to get it out of the cave. You could for example build a ship or rover that you can then use to lift it out of the cave, then add a battery and connect it to your station to recharge.

Oh lord. Cna you help me. I got this thing working in survival but it keeps flipping and has no power whats so ever. I cant get it out of a cave and its DRILLS keep exploding when i try to flip it.
Smokki  [autor] 26 sept. 2021 la 23:20
@Ranger Nice job, it does look better than my first experiment trying to make the ATV-8B with hinges :D
Priam 26 sept. 2021 la 21:15
Hey Smokki hope you don't mind but I combined the ATV-8B with the Plutus and posted it with all credit going to you. I just did a bit of blah with it and now its got the stuff I love from both.

@Slashaar I haven't really found any problems personally while using them this way. I actually had plans to leave more space between the wheels originally, but it didn't look nearly as good and I wanted to make this as compact as I could.
Slashaar 26 sept. 2021 la 2:32
The wheels overlap each other and make it near impossible to drive. Needs a one block spacing between them ideally.
Smokki  [autor] 21 sept. 2021 la 23:43
Nice job, I'll add a link to my description to recommend your version for survival gameplay :)
Nekron910 21 sept. 2021 la 10:57
Done. Now, we can use this miner in survival and make some semi-auto assembly lines/ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2607984445
Smokki  [autor] 19 sept. 2021 la 10:38
@Nekron910 Thanks, and nice job! Absolutely, go ahead and publish it. No need for co-authorship, just give some credits, or add a link to this one so everyone knows it was ok for me :)
Nekron910 19 sept. 2021 la 2:28
@Smokki Hello, comrad! I'm realy enjoy this little miner and made SAK (survival assembling kit) for it. Do you mind the publication of the blueprint for this kit (with the indication of co-authorship, of course)? Demonstration video for survival mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeDqDlBNGbk
Smokki  [autor] 15 apr. 2021 la 23:50
@Bert John Clad it works now :)
Bert John 15 apr. 2021 la 19:33
@Smokki Yeah i did, I didnt have wasteland DLC, bought it and it works now. All good ^^ ty for reply
Smokki  [autor] 14 apr. 2021 la 23:07
@Zombie If you are trying to build anything that has pistons, rotors or hinges in survival mode the blueprint won't place those, it's been always like that unfortunately. Luckily now there is that mod :)
Zombie 14 apr. 2021 la 21:15
They need a must have mod list I found this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2415983416&searchtext=multigrid+ It requires another mod for it to work but once you have them in and you put the alternate command path in it works it does as it says
Zombie 14 apr. 2021 la 19:53
I have tried everything to try and get this to come with the arms. Got tired of trying to get it to work so I went to use make another one and it to was broke. So i went to build my ugly pooping miner and it too was broke. Anything that has a hinge or rotor of any kind are broke. One of the last patch few patches broke the BP system so it will not display anything past hinges/rotors. I think it either the last major update or the first hot fix after it broke the BP system
Bert John 3 febr. 2021 la 12:55
Ended up buying wasteland DLC and it works now.
Smokki  [autor] 3 febr. 2021 la 3:40
@Bert John Do you have scripts enabled in your world?
Bert John 3 febr. 2021 la 1:12
The arms wont raise or lower or extend, What am i doing wrong? the keybinds provided do not do anything. :(
Smokki  [autor] 1 ian. 2021 la 4:57
Only other thing I can think off is that you could try to unsubscribe from this blueprint and then subscribe to it again after you have made sure it's removed from your blueprints. But the issue is so weird and I haven't ever heard about such issue before that I simply don't know what else to do.
IMPARATOR 31 dec. 2020 la 9:17
I have all the necessary dlc packages. I tried it 3 times in creative mode, 2 of them are in different worlds but again they didn't have handles. If you want, I can send ss via dm.
Smokki  [autor] 29 dec. 2020 la 6:08
Nice! Feel free to publish it on workshop if you like :)
goingscrub 28 dec. 2020 la 0:36
IM BACK AND YES IT DOES WORK UNDERWATER but i had to rewire it cuz i dont have dlc
Smokki  [autor] 27 dec. 2020 la 11:32
Sorry but I don't see any possible reason why those arms wouldn't be there if you place the blueprint in creative mode. Just to make sure... You have the most up-to-date version of the game? You tried it with a fresh creative mode world without any mods? You have the required DLCs?
IMPARATOR 27 dec. 2020 la 11:19
I still haven't found an answer to the problem. Can you help me?
IMPARATOR 26 dec. 2020 la 5:26
When I try in creative mode, the digger arms don't exist
Smokki  [autor] 26 dec. 2020 la 3:25
@WatchAndLearn If you build this on survival mode the arms won't be buildable (as they are part of a subgrid) and you have to add them manually. You could try to check this out in creative mode to see how the arms are set up so you could build them yourself.
IMPARATOR 26 dec. 2020 la 3:18
the tool has no digging arms. How can I do that ?
Smokki  [autor] 22 dec. 2020 la 9:58
@Echo Mande That's pretty neat, nice job.
Echo Mande 21 dec. 2020 la 14:26
I've put a reach handler (forklift) that I am happy with on the workshop. It is based on this vehicle's chassis and arms.
Smokki  [autor] 18 dec. 2020 la 0:11
@GalacticCmdr It would have for sure benefited on being longer, but I mainly wanted to do as compact as possible miner, something like those bobcats. I haven't personally found any problems with it but I don't usually do steep slopes anyway and prefer to do longer tunnels.
GalacticCmdr 17 dec. 2020 la 17:33
Nice looking, but in general a terrible design. It is unbalanced on anything but a very gentle slope as it constantly wants to tip forward.
Smokki  [autor] 17 dec. 2020 la 3:11
@goingscrub Well you could try to modify it into a minisub :P It kind of has the looks that it could be turned into a one.
goingscrub 17 dec. 2020 la 0:47
nvm i cant use it
goingscrub 17 dec. 2020 la 0:45
wonder if it works underwater?
btw im using the water mod
Smokki  [autor] 16 dec. 2020 la 7:08
@TheNedoow Seems I forgot to answer your question... Generally I would say that this ain't that well balanced and creating something as compact as this, it's hard to have it properly balanced. Wider, and heavy blocks as low as possible to get the center of gravity down will help a lot.
Smokki  [autor] 5 dec. 2020 la 23:05
@mrsbanks325 I'll be releasing the trailer a bit later.

@Veganboi758 Thanks, nice to hear that :)

@Ugotapertymouth Yup, uses the listed DLC.

@dfdmorze :)
dfdmorze 5 dec. 2020 la 13:33
+
TheNedoow 5 dec. 2020 la 13:05
how do you balance out the weight i did something similar and could never get that balanced
DareRickery 5 dec. 2020 la 12:42
Uses DLC? Not vanilla.
Gorge Orwoll 5 dec. 2020 la 12:27
Looks awesome! Functions really well
Zach Watson 5 dec. 2020 la 9:09
What is the trailer? thanks:steamhappy:
Smokki  [autor] 4 dec. 2020 la 12:58
@MacGeifer Thanks, great to hear that :)

@Morpheus Thanks for the info, I haven't actually even noticed that.

@Mustangs6551 I was actually playing around with the 4 wheel sets idea at first. Was planning to turn the ATV-8B into one that would use hinges, but then I just fell in love with this compact design :P
Mustangs6551 3 dec. 2020 la 23:19
I really like what you've done. I've used a similar surface miner for a while now, but yours is much more stylish. I've found after messing with it this evening that it really needed a fourth set of wheels added to the back. Without them, I found myself flipping while trying to mine in a spot where I had to descend deep underground. Even a slight slope made it flip once I'd loaded it down with ore. It's still got a lot of problem pulling itself out, but at least it's stopped flipping when I gave it gas.
Molten Carnage 3 dec. 2020 la 13:51
Encountering a bug I've seen before with builds like this one. When drills are not on the same grid or subgrid, only 1 drill will remove voxels. Nice design though. We got to get on Keens case about the drills on separate subgrids. This bug has existed for too long.
MacGeifer 3 dec. 2020 la 11:58
dude this is awesome and vanilla. working fine for me ;)
Smokki  [autor] 3 dec. 2020 la 3:17
Hmm, I don't really know what's the issue. Sorry :/
Nobbi 3 dec. 2020 la 2:25
@ Snoki ... If the server has scripts enabled, it should work
So sorry Scrips are enabeld and it come always the same error. "start the game in Single player mode"
Smokki  [autor] 3 dec. 2020 la 1:43
@Jess-itis No problem, glad I could help :)

@Pix Sorry, no blueprint of those, feel free to make blueprints of those for yourself if you like.

@Blaze Well I won't promise anything as work takes most of my time, but I do like the new planet and would like to do something with it :P

@dr_watson If the server has scripts enabled, it should work.

@stedoCool, well it is basically exactly that from the extended version of SOTF, just a bit more polished and designed for planets. That's how long it has taken from me to release this build :D
Nobbi 2 dec. 2020 la 23:06
Pity it is not working ... Its' only seen as Mod here in Steam but not ingame.
stedo 2 dec. 2020 la 22:58
First glance... That's just the one from the sparks of the future station with a few changes
Clicks into item 'by Smokki'
ok fair enough :D

I made an 8 wheel version of the sparks version. I love mining with a rover. Very satisfying
Looks great driving round Pertam with the new dusty armour.

Great work as always ;)
