Yes, there are files for printing. If you look on further up on this page, you can see "Files for Print & Play". Enjoy!
Are you on the Discord server? Would be much easier to assist you there. And I would love to see some of your ideas for Gen 2! On Discord, we do have a spreadsheet with various ideas people have had for Gen 2.
Sorry about the delayed response!
I didn't actually write the script for the game. It was very kindly supplied by @Kranston Snord.
So very sorry, but I can't help you with that!
Love the game and have been playing it with friends for a while! I have started using your templates and creating pokemon cards, but I would like some information on how to add the cards, 3d images and more starters into the game.
We are working on adding the johto region next but would like some tips on how to start adding into the game! thank you!
What happens when 2 Pokémon have the same AtkPwr depends on the type of battle.
For wild encounters, the player wins ties.
In player and gym battles, both sides roll the Battle Bonus Dice once more.
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying the game!
Yes, in an ideal world I would love to have all the Pokémon and maybe even more regions! However this was almost a completely solo project of mine and was very time consuming... I simply don't have the time at the moment to invest. Maybe one day! :)
No, you can't count both types. When a Pokémon evolves, you only count the stats of the top most card (except for abilities).
Thanks for playing!
Glad you're enjoying the game!
Yes, you can still use the space you've landed on after battling another player. This sounds like something that should be clarified in the rulebook, so I'll add it in. Thanks! :)
Yes, you can use it multiple times on the same spot, as long as you have enough PP to spend!
Thanks for playing, I'm so glad you and your friends are enjoying it!
Gotta say me and my friends love this game, amazing job!
We are playing with house rules to make it more hardcore. for example, do not gain pp when reviving or losing a fight. And when you lose a battle, you have to remove half of the level up counter (rounded down) of the pokemon that fought. If it is against a gym leader, you also discard an item.
Also, we made multiple copies of certain pokemon in each deck to try and get a spawn rate. for example, Rattata, Paras, Caterpie (those Pokemon that appear a lot) there are 4 copies on the deck, some like Abra, Vulpix, pikachu only 1, etc. Like pokemon logic, so some pokemons are rarer than others. It gets really good!
It's more like how we want to play it, the base game itself is very enjoyable and friendly to hang out and fun!
Glad you're enjoying it!
Just checking, are you discarding KO tokens when a gym battle is won?
Players should lose a KO token whenever they obtain a gym badge.
The 3 turns it would take to continuously lose in order to obtain the tokens necessary puts a player at a disadvantage against a player who wasn't losing and advancing in the game. As that's at least 3 turns wasted!
Even when the tokens are used, they only would ever bring that player back up closer to stage they would have been at. Only in very rare occasions would they put a player at an advantage.
I will continue testing them.
Thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback!
I agree with @Mendo. Play a couple of games and the Ko Tokens give you an advantage to evolve and level up the pokemons easier. Also that removes the penalty for losing. There is no fear of facing a gym leader and strategies are created to lose directly to wild encounters.
Except for that, the game is very good. The idea is well done, the skills too. I like very much!
Legendary Pokémon are strong in battle and can therefore help in defeating the gym leaders and E4, so that's one benefit of having one.
Also, if you have one on your team during scoring at the end of the game, their high AtkPwr will give you more points when compared to other Pokémon.
So, it is worth catching one if you can!
Does that make sense?
I had a bunch of cards to help me catch a legendary so while my friend was rushing to the E4 I was trying to catch one. I read the rules a few times and from my understanding there are no additional points for catching a legendary.
Is this intentional? Also wanted to know why you dont think they should be worth more if so.
Thanks for the feedback and your kind words!
I have played and watched several games since the 2.0 update and even with a player purposely trying to abuse the KO tokens, they never seemed to grant an unfair advantage.
The E4 are supposed to be tough! Saying that though, with a bit of strategy, they can be defeated without too much trouble. I experienced 2 games in a row where the player who got to the E4 before the other players was able to beat them on their first try.
But I will keep testing and listening to feedback and will tweak them where appropriate :)
This is definitely a longer game. A potential solution that I can see is to make all the Gym Leaders and E4 much easier to defeat. But where's the fun if there's no challenge??
Thanks for playing, I'm really glad you enjoy it!
In the end the game was still of course super fun. Even with an internet outage causing issues we enjoyed it so much we rebuilt the game to where we were. So major kudos for a fun game. I feel it runs on a little long and I'm honestly not sure what the solution for that is, but again great game.
Glad you're enjoying the game! But sorry that you're having issues...
Is it with any of the gym leaders in particular that you're having the issue with? The buttons work depending on the colour of the player who pressed it. Therefore they may bug out of a spectator or black GM press it.
If you ever get these errors again, use the rewind button to get back the use of the buttons!
During the setup process, 3 out of the 5 potential Legendary Pokémon are chosen at random and added to the Red deck. The unchosen cards are removed from the game.
So I would assume it was that Mewtwo just wasn't in your game this time! Maybe it'll be in the next one
I added this question to the FAQ thread on this page (link in the description).
But yeah, I do get this question a lot, so I think I may need to add it into the rulebook.
Thanks for playing!
Glad you're enjoying it!
It's a shame the auto setup isn't dealing the starter Pokémon for you!
If you try unsubscribing, deleting the data for the game from your tabletop, and then resubscribing... Sometimes that helps with errors!
Otherwise, if you clone the starter Pokémon Poké Ball, and then click and drag from it, you will be able to manually pick the starters.
Hope that helps you!
