Autofill Bottles

I've done a lot of poking at the issue I reported and the short of it is I can't repro on a newly created map with identical mod list as I had when I encountered this. So, false alarm I guess.

I've been encountering weird oxygen issues since update 1.206. They don't happen in a stock environment and the only oxygen affecting mod I have is this one.

Scenario is this:
I have 0 suit oxygen and no bottles
I enter a cockpit with full oxygen.
My ship's oxygen tank begins depleting rapidly but my suit is not replenished.
I then exited the cockpit into a vacuum environment and my suit instantly replenished.
(not saying the vacuum environment is relevant to the bug except to indicate that the sudden increase in oyxgen was not from entering an oxygenated environment)
i tryed this mod but seem to not fit the current theme of the world rule i set for myself so i removed it from that world but now oxygen tank for my suit is seem permanently stuck at 77% no mater how long i stay in space... not sur how i should go about to make it back to vanilla standard?

-Fixed MP issues with refilling from cockpit.

@Echtros thanks for reply
Echthros  [skapare] 19 apr, 2024 @ 13:27
@Penous The speed is unfortunately limited by how fast your suit refills, which I have no control over.

@Heft Well it wouldn't. That value controls at what fraction of your suit being filled (i.e. 40%) it will attempt to move gas over to the bottles during refill. You changed it so that it will attempt to move the gas when your suit is filled to 300% capacity. That isn't a speed control, if that's what you were looking for. There is no speed control.
Heft 19 apr, 2024 @ 13:16
@Echthros Hi there, I just tried to change Gas fill threshold from 0.40f to any value. But it doesnt work. GAS_FILL_THRESHOLD = 0.40F; --default
I changed to GAS_FILL_THRESHOLD = 3F;
But it doesnt work.
Penous 13 apr, 2024 @ 15:45
Can we change the speed for refilling? It takes forever and I might aswel just pop my bottles in the generator
RougeSable 6 feb, 2024 @ 0:01
I went for a l'ESS consumption jetpack mod instead
Fat7i Bonané 5 feb, 2024 @ 10:07
@Rouge Sable Really ?? Aw man exactly what I was trying to figure out. Thanks :(
RougeSable 18 dec, 2023 @ 4:36
Saddly not refilling from cryo chambers :'(
Rumaan 3 nov, 2023 @ 3:49
I installed this mod, alongside some other UI mods. I don't think those mess with default jetpack fuel. Does this mod do that? Or am I just imagining things? Otherwise, this has been a super useful mod, thanks!
Cornelius 29 sep, 2023 @ 10:16
@Peekofwar yes that's how the mod works, it's working as intended.
Peekofwar 23 apr, 2023 @ 16:03
Yeah, no matter how many times I use the survival kit via the left mouse button, it only triggers the mod if I hold interact.
Peekofwar 23 apr, 2023 @ 16:01
Huh... I think the mod only works when you hold interact on the survival kit and for some reason doesn't trigger when you use the left-mouse button on the survival kit.

More testing required.
CynicDragon 21 apr, 2023 @ 21:56
Thank you so much :)
Echthros  [skapare] 21 apr, 2023 @ 1:56
@Vedrit I'm fine with the duplicate staying up. I haven't been able to revisit this one for a while, so I appreciate the help. When I get a chance, I'll try to add some of the requested features.
Vedrit 21 apr, 2023 @ 1:26
Hi, I have made my own version of this mod that supports modded oxygen and hydrogen bottles. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2965129461
If you want me to de-list it, or if you want to integrate the changes into this mod, please let me know.
Peekofwar 19 apr, 2023 @ 21:28
Scratch that, it just stopped working again... Moved the bottle around my inventory and it started to work again...
Peekofwar 19 apr, 2023 @ 21:06
I have been in SE for over 9 hours now, so it could be it just broke from running for so long...
Peekofwar 19 apr, 2023 @ 21:04
For some reason, it stopped refilling my bottles in my inventory... This is on a dedicated server. It was working all day when suddenly I went and recharged at the Survival kit in my base, went back to work and noticed I was out of hydrogen. I thought "didn't I literally just refill that?" Turns out the mod just stopped working all of a sudden.

I have literally never encountered this issue before. Interestingly enough, simply reconnecting to the server resolved the issue.

Could be worse: Could've run out of hydrogen in space. Am on a martian planet, so I can at least walk back to the base.
williams.james1212 11 apr, 2023 @ 11:01
is there a way you could add this to mod.io
FrogMachine 13 mar, 2023 @ 19:33
refilling bottles is
sooooooooooo
slooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww
Hikari 22 feb, 2023 @ 19:22
Is there a way it will ever be compatible with modded bottles?
(DBB)Thepriest1750 11 feb, 2023 @ 7:13
I am using a medical room and i see the bottle going too 100 then switches too a bottle of 43% gooing 100 but it seems likes it keeps going in a loop since the bottle isn't actual getting filed ( i have like 4 in my inventory )
Zen_Man 5 feb, 2023 @ 1:15
Definately a MUST HAVE!
MustyManureMan 31 jan, 2023 @ 6:19
God bless you. You're a saint. I love you. I always have. I always will. :selike:
kinngrimm 29 jan, 2023 @ 9:16
Is there by chance a plugin loader version planed that would enable this mod to be independent of server settings?
BIV 29 nov, 2022 @ 7:27
Great idea, yes refills are needed but it is boring to have to access two ports to do the same thing really. Good job, love your work mate.
7thRF_RSM_Fungus 12 sep, 2022 @ 22:37
Very cool mod, I just have one suggestion. The med bay is better than the survival kit as it recharges and heals faster. Shouldn't that also translate to h2 and o2?
Nice mod overall though!
Dave the magical cheese wizzard 31 aug, 2022 @ 5:37
Great Mod! It's saved me a lot of time!

Quick QOL improvement. Currently seems to only fill a single bottle. I run two, and the second one does not refill.
thelich 24 aug, 2022 @ 16:33
Sadly, it works with vanilla bottles only.

mod id???
Degrosaxx 9 jun, 2022 @ 15:19
Does it work with graphene bottles ?
ι3ξτ^н4ЖΣ0я 8 jun, 2022 @ 15:38
Amazing QoL mod, worked very well for me in SP, hosted MP and DS. I can confirm that the refill mechnic in cockpits did not work with DS while it does in SP.

I found that this mod does not work all that well with suit mods, e.g. it works fine with almost all suits from Chipstix213's More Engineer Characters mod but misbehaves with the atmospheric engineer and the characters from his No Suits mod. In these cases, your hydrogen level will display NaN when you go into a cockpit or try to refill at a survival kit or medical station. When you try to refill again, it will rapidly drain your entire grids hydrogen reserves. The characters where I got this bug to happen all have jetpack fuel and throughput set to 0.
Grebanton1234 9 maj, 2022 @ 10:40
would it be possible to buff the bottle filling speed when using the large medbay? I think it's faster to just go into the ships inventory and put the bottle in a tank.
Zeinath 6 mar, 2022 @ 9:23
Yes, server will force download of mods. Was just pointing out that they can't just install it on a client and expect it to work on a server. Sorry for any confusion.
Kaito 6 mar, 2022 @ 9:21
Client should download any mods the server uses upon connecting. I'm sure there are creative ways to work around that, but the game shouldn't really let you play with differing mod sets.
Zeinath 6 mar, 2022 @ 9:16
Can confirm, works with Survival Kits and Med Bays, including modded med bays. Use both in single player, as well as dedicated server I host for myself and a friend. (Does need to be on client AND server side to function, if server doesn't have the mod, it won't function)
Kaito 6 mar, 2022 @ 6:37
It's never worked in cockpits and cryo chambers in multiplayer, except for the host.

It'll work at medbays and survival kits.
Godimas 6 mar, 2022 @ 6:35
Seems to be not working at all in my server. Med stations, cockpits, cryo chambers, etc... the bottles stay empty.
BoompaBlubbah 6 mar, 2022 @ 4:09
This has become a standard addition to any world I now create :)
However, it no longer works when in cockpits, I thought it used to work fine before though?
Peekofwar 1 jan, 2022 @ 9:58
It doesn't seem to work in Cryo Chambers...
2late2die 29 nov, 2021 @ 10:51
@Echthros I understand. No worries then, and thanks for the quick reply
Echthros  [skapare] 29 nov, 2021 @ 10:34
@2late2die Unfortunately, the rate it can fill is limited by the rate at which your suit is able to fill, since the bottles are being filled with the gas from your suit. To fill faster (without creating gas out of nothing), I'd need access to the gas management system for grids, which is currently not whitelisted for modders.
2late2die 29 nov, 2021 @ 10:22
Is there a setting that I can change for the rate at which it refills the bottles?
It seems to do it pretty slow, like maybe about 10% a second (using medical station), unless I'm missing something. But at that rate, it's basically faster for me to just run over to container access and quickly pop in and out the bottles. It's still a great mod, since it's very useful for the autofill while in a cockpit, but if I could tweak the speed that'd be a gas :)

@Echthros Thanks. Still couldn't take the whole log but I tried to snip the key parts. Also included more details to hopefully allow for reproduction.
Echthros  [skapare] 16 okt, 2021 @ 16:50
@? You can create a discussion on this page and paste the error there. The character limit is much higher for discussions than for regular comments.

I did try to reproduce the previously described error, but wasn't able to. I can take another look in a bit.
nul 16 okt, 2021 @ 14:58
This mod is causing a crash in my multiplayer world, I'm pretty sure. The crash seems to be caused by me being AFK and therefore dying (whoops) on the surface of Triton. The logs indicate ~70 seconds after dying the exception reported by @Ϡ͢Ƿẚ̀ᴨ̴ї͏ɕ̢Θ̕ʁɘɠ͞ɵ̷ŋ́ƻ͢ȣ҉ḹ ༒, causing the whole game to crash. I tried to upload logs but it's too big for Pastebin and Steam comments.
