I apologize for the delay
My gameplay suggestion, the Head Trauma ability causes a lot of damage by itself, and is too broken, so I suggest reducing the damage and adding a stress loss effect when killing an enemy, as if the character was getting rid of her own torment by finishing the monsters herself.
And thanks for the amazing work @Rehtaelle
I've been... a bit stressed, yeah. At some point (hopefully soon) I'm going to get around to updating her and Milkmaid. See if I can add in that russian .loc I got (after having another Russian speaker verify its quality), and make some balance adjustments. Gonna drop her damage by a single point, drop her crit by a single point, make her no longer deny healing on affliction, slightly the accuracy on Head Trauma and Page Cutter (down from 95 to 90, so still above average), update her visuals and add a "legacy skin" companion mod. Gonna make some adjustments to Milkmaid's trinkets, slightly nerf her single-target heal, and change her virtue ally attack to do a bleed proc instead of direct damage to avoid the rare ally kill.
This is a translation of this class, unfortunately the Russian text for some reason in the game is displayed with some occult symbols, as I wrote below. Please resolve this issue, I did everything I could
Postscript: these symbols are also present in the Korean and Chinese localizations of this mod instead of normal hieroglyphs. Please get on with it
No.
Should players want to have more than one Philomath on a team running shared trinkets, that's their right to choose. In your case, there are values you can change locally if you want to do this, which if you have a lot of modded classes, you'll be familiar with doing very quickly.
And thanks for sharing more of her motivation.
Regarding the houndmaster, in the middle ages police dogs were mostly used for tracking people, so in his previous occupation as the medieval (renaissance?) equivalent of a K-9 unit, I'm imagining that he tracked many people through wilderness areas, which may have involved setting, avoiding, and/or disarming traps. That's my guess as to the lore explanation for his high traps skill.
Black Reliquary looks really cool. Are there any plans to release a Mac version?
In any case, if you are able to finish Nightmares sometime I'd love to try it. But if not, I'd like to express my appreciation for the beautiful piece of art you've already gifted to the community, which is the story and character of the philomath. Thank you.
She doesn't know the details of what's going to help save her here, just that a vision told her that it *might* help, and that's as good a lead as any.
Nightmares is something I do intend to finish at some point, but money is a bit iffy right now to commission the art for it, and my modding attention is on BR right now. (Including adding her to the add-on roster)
Regarding her traps skill, I can see how her psychic abilities might make her better able to detect and avoid traps, but it seems to me that people who have some previous life experience of working with traps in some way would likely be better at disarming them (which is likely true of the four other characters with the highest traps skill: the grave robber, the highwayman, the houndmaster, and the bounty hunter). If it's possible to make the trap resist and trap disarming skills independent values, you might want to consider making her disarming skill at least a bit lower.
Are you still working on adding nightmares to this mod btw (possibly as a separate add-on mod)? If so, I'm looking forward to it.
One of the other big reasons that she doesn't go to the bar is that she's on *a lot* of medications and drugs at any given time. And yes, she thinks the hamlet is the key to salvaging her mind. As for the eldritch creature playing her as a pawn (or maybe more of a bishop, she's fairly useful) i interpret this as a power struggle between it and the HoD. It's a lesser entity that's using her to create a power vacuum so it can take the HoD's place.
The grave robber is good at disarming traps because she's basically a burglar, but the philomath is a college student who spent all or her time reading books rather than working with physical things; and is now in a constant daze from severe sleep-deprivation, under the influence of a shifting array of various mind/mood altering drugs, and suffering from demonic visions/hallucinations which distort her perceptions of people and things. Shouldn't all of that put her traps skill on the low end? Like, I get that as somebody who's particularly intelligent and has been focusing on challenging her mind as a student, she might be better at figuring things out than most, but that doesn't seem like enough to compensate for her current impairments and lack of practical experience in any area related to traps.
Cool set of mechanics as well, though I'm still learning how to use her.
One thing that's unclear to me is her motivation in going to the hamlet she saw in her vision. Does she think that she'll find some means there to close herself off from the demonic forces she opened herself to? Is she just trying to save the world (out of a remaining feeling of care for her fellow humans she's separated herself from)? Did the demon just compel her to go for its own purposes without her ever having her own motivation to go? Why does the demon want her there?
