Hi Archeia! Oh I've heard about this game for so long but I've never played it myself since RTP was never my game--but it's SOOO fun :) I love the way you kept an air of mystery. I haven't been able to defeat the Goddess (this gal doesn't usually play RM games--or games at all) but that's okay too. I also didn't play the original so...going to play that now :3
Archeia  [author] 31 May, 2014 @ 7:04pm
@Michaelr20010713 oh man that sucks! *hugs* I'm so sorry bout that ;^;
PuppetManiac 31 May, 2014 @ 2:08pm

Ruadeil 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:51pm
@Cazwolf I didn't rip anything, why would i want to? Do you even know what I posted?
Ruadeil 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:49pm
Fair enough. Perhaps you're right about that one. My apologies. Just pointing out some things to consider if you actually end up making something commercially.
Cazwolf 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:48pm
@D.G.M - The author has clearly stated to you that she does not want you to share such things, especially not publicly. If you are trying to be of assistance, I suggest you take it to private message where the issue can be dealt with somewhere that is not so out in the open.

Ripping the content from a game, especially a small indie project like this, is not okay. Just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you should, regardless of what point you are trying to prove. Someone worked hard on the art you are helping people to blindly take without considering the effort involved. Please do not disrespect the creator any further, and take the remainder of your comments to PM in future. I don't think you understand the level of damage you are causing.
Archeia  [author] 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:45pm
@D.G.M. Yes that is fine but we could've settled this in PM than making something publicly if that is your goal. A 'fake' security might not be the best deal but unlike you, I don't have that big of an experience with encryptions nor do I really want to knowing how RM works with that. If I can keep some people away that will make me happy. I just want to make a game man. ;_;
Ruadeil 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:41pm
@Archeia and i'm trying to teach you that you have all the right to do that, but do it properly. For example, make a DLL loader with proper AES encryption with a simple block chain cipher. Then hide the key in one of the other resources. Make the ruby scripts unreadable by using a minifyer or something alike, much like they do with javascript. That would keep most people out, and the people that can figure it out probably won't bother with the work involved there. Let me know if you need help with that. ;)
Archeia  [author] 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:28pm
@D.G.M. It still doesn't mean that it's right to distribute something that the author him/herself is uncomfortable of sharing. It is very well within my rights as the artist of the resources/graphics to remain them hidden for public use or whatever methods I did for the game unexposed. You don't have to break open someone's hard work and compromise the safety of their graphics for the sake of "learning," especially against the owner's will.

And like I said, I already have a blog chokeful of resources and tutorials. This project is my game and not something I want people to poke around. If there are some stuff they want to know then here's my blog: http://divisionheaven.wordpress.com/tutorials/
Ruadeil 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:25pm
@archeia Also, do you really think that those noobs you speak of had any use of the code snippit i posted? They wouldn't even know where to put it. If they're smart enough to know where to put it, they could've probably added the 1 and 1 together already anyway. Just a penny for your thought ;)
Ruadeil 22 Apr, 2014 @ 1:12pm
@archeia: If anything, it's just going to annoy people trying to learn new things, nomatter how bad they are. They could be as simple as seeing how a certain effect is done graphics-wise. It's really a false sense of security, as this only stops people who have literally done nothing in ruby. This took me literally 5 minutes to figure out, and i'm neither an RPG maker nor ruby "expert". In fact, I barely use them. I use RPG maker as a mere tile editor for own projects and engines, nothing else.
Archeia  [author] 21 Apr, 2014 @ 10:53pm
@Psychopath_Gee It's not breaking the 4th Wall for Tutorial Purposes. In later parts of the game they interact with the player. But that's debateable :D There is a reason things are called framework and such like that.
Goom 21 Apr, 2014 @ 10:51am
I don't like the way you are breaking the fourth wall for tutorial porpuses, I think you can find a better solution for that. It's okay when a random greyed text appears but when the character tells the player how the menu works it's just weird.
Archeia  [author] 19 Apr, 2014 @ 10:09pm
@D.G.M. Normally a respectable scripter wouldn't hack into "protected" materials out of respect for the creator of the project. The "protection" is only aimed for the n00bs (there's a difference between n00bs and newbies) that just grab resources without credits or disregarding the exclusivity of the resources. I also don't want people to use the materials that could get them into trouble (such as personalized scripts from friend scripters who *don't* want others to use their stuff) and learn from old terrible eventing code that I am refining now for a public version, which is Porcupine Princess.

So to those who want to learn from this, I highly suggest to wait for that instead because everything in this project is a hack and workaround and is not friendly for public usage.
Archeia  [author] 19 Apr, 2014 @ 9:54pm
@D.G.M. If you can learn from it that's just fine. But do it privately.
Archeia  [author] 19 Apr, 2014 @ 9:51pm
@D.G.M. I don't want people to use my custom materials especially without my permission as these are my handdrawn characters. Please don't distribute methods where you are enforcing people to steal other indie's hard work. It already happened once and I already have a blog dedicated for free materials for other people to use.
Archeia  [author] 18 Apr, 2014 @ 12:17pm
@Phalanx, the random encounter rate is too low for some or too high. Sadly it's a random thing! I did incorporate a better way about it in the Prequel/Sequel, Porcupine Princess. About the Tutorials, it's part of the plot and is meant as an interaction to your existence as the "angel." I can't answer the latter parts since ~reasons~ but nope, that is not a bug. :)
Archeia  [author] 16 Apr, 2014 @ 2:20pm
Thank you very much <3
Catosaurus 6 Apr, 2014 @ 7:49am

Archeia  [author] 3 Mar, 2014 @ 6:02am
@Dimensional13 it seems like I can't...due to some anti-virus/malware protection. If possible, try the Mirror Links for now?
Archeia  [author] 3 Mar, 2014 @ 4:00am
Oh I see now, for -some- reason the game.exe and RGSS301.dll is not uploaded. I'll try updating the download.
Dimensional13 3 Mar, 2014 @ 3:21am
Yo, sorry for asking but I can't play it :O. I always get an error message!

Archeia  [author] 3 Mar, 2014 @ 2:42am
@Mak Erot(is) alot of the game's stuff is made using the rtp so it'd be the same as downloading it ;~; I can try making a non-rtp download link though.
sybau 2 Mar, 2014 @ 11:46pm
any non rtp link??
