Is there a proper way to animate them right, involving changing the bodygroups for the different parts, using the SFM Skins and Bodygroups tool?

Hey all just curious if there's a guide on how to put the human clothes on the villagers? Best I've thought is head hacking the villager you want on a human body and go from there just thought I'd ask if anyone had any other ideas just in case.

All wetsuit textures/models have MarinesuitNormal as the clothes model. Since there are only three texture types I'll just say they're GrecoX_MarinesuitNormalN_D, Nook0_MarinesuitNormalL_D, and RashguardX_MarinesuitNormalN_D.

Sock models don't exist, you instead override the sock material (mSocks_D) of the base model. See the guide for more info on the materials.

Are you painting the right part of the eye? You're supposed to paint mEye_DP with a $color2 material override, not mEye_D. Both are needed but only mEye_DP should be colored.

You can change the skin to any color, the sfm guide has the RGB values for the in game skin colors.

Yes, I know, I'm saying use one of the presets with clothes/expressions, they are fully customizable like the blank one you just have to toggle off the clothes and accessories with bodygroups first.

I think someone else had the same issue and I don't know exactly what the cause of it is, maybe try using another preset with everything disabled, they work the same way as the blank model.

I noticed that the socks won't move with the legs seperately. It moved with the bones for the left leg, not for each leg independently.

Ok I was double testing the Normal Maps in Sfm and it turns out they did got fixed I guess they have an update because the last time I tried them out was a week ago and they did not work for some reason I followed the instructions correctly and it showed up flat for me and now that I looked but and test them again tonight they worked. I Apologize for wasting your time you did a great job on the Models :steamthumbsup:

Yea I think they have issues loading in Blender but for SFM they should work but some may be subtle. Also make sure your overriding the normal map too, I'm guessing you are but if you aren't you'll have the default flat normal map.

Oh no I was testing it in both Sfm and Blender to see what's wrong with the Normal Maps I'm mostly an Sfm artist

I don't really have support for Blender in mind so I will not update the normal maps, you'll need to do your own research on reformatting the textures to work correctly with Blender.

Hello I was trying out the Clothing for the Villagers but when I put on the Normal Map it was not working it was a smooth texture no bump details at all you may have to update the Normal Maps to fix them I have an image to show what I mean https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/581337699668197419/807835487246221322/unknown.png

I understand that the sub bones are what's causing the issues but I'm not going to redo a ton of work for that unfortunately, since I'd have to do that for the base model, both clothes variants, and all other addons. A good alternative might be importing the PMs from the GMod addons instead since those use the normal ValveBiped bones to work as a playermodel and likely works with a rig, though I'm not sure which. Importing GMod addons is pretty easy since its just downloading them with steam workshop downloader and putting the files in SFM. They may lack some controllability due to some jigglebones being made of multiple bones combined into just one but an IK rig may work with them...

Yeah it is broken, I Go into an animation file and all the legs are messed up and cant even fix them or move them without loading an entire new human model, basically, throwing away hours of animation work I have done.

Here's a suggestion, if you don't mind. Could you add a biped simple rig to the basemodel? This would make posing and animation many times easier.

There was a minor issue when pushing out an update that broke the basemodel, I believe I fixed it but there may be other issues. Please let me know if there are any issues you run into after this update.

First try reinstalling the addon and selecting "Yes to All" if prompted to overwrite other assets, saying no can cause weird texture issues like that as the clothes models should just be plain white. Second, try the texture overrides to see if the sleeves are actually there, the underwear textures have alpha components that hide the sleeves, they probably are actually there but are invisible because of the texture transparency.

We have no clue. They just installed all three things. The model is not only sleeveless, but it has the default texture like the "underwear" top when you try to undress your character in the game. Hmmm... What do you suggest they should do?

That can't be right, all of the models have been fine for me and I have no clue how that could happen if the sleeve variant models are there. Explain more or I will assume something is being done wrong.

I don't think its that simple due to the texture layout expected by clothing. (UV Maps are in a specific layout with specific sections for the front, back, and sleeves of shirts, not mentioning custom hats and their potentially unique UV maps and models)

No it is not because I do not know how their format works nor how the game smooths the textures. If you wanted to you could try to recreate the textures but thats hard without experience.
