1.5 smelting will destory any non-smeltable

Having a weird issue where anything fabric-based becomes 15 cloth on smelting, regardless of what it was. Leathers, Wools, Devilstrand, etc.

Other mods are involved in this save, so I can't be 100% certain, but I think it came from a game update changing backend systems? Doubt it's a result of your mod, but still wanted to give feedback on that, should others come around about the same/similar issue.

I have an issue where pawns smelt textile based clothing and no resources are dropped.

can you smelt plate armor with this?

No worries - this mod wouldn't have affected anything anyway as all it does is removes the global apparel/weapon filter. Shouldn't affect any one particular item.

Hello, upon further testing, I can't get the crematorium to burn it either, so it's just stuck in my storage regardless. Seems like it's a core Rimworld bug, I'll just make a bug report.

also, that's not in the defs for Biotech, I assume it's in Ideology or Core, whichever adds styles
Holgast  [author] 23 Oct, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Wouldn't that just be a style of parka and not a different def?

Hello, the mod seems to work for everything except the 'spikecore' style of parka from the new expansion, they aren't anywhere in the menu and colonists won't touch them.

ok cool, it could have been the game just needing some time to rescan the area but cool it worked

I tried adding a regular stockpile zone right next to the smelter and filled it with those weapons, but it still didn't work.

However now, after I stopped trying, it seems to be working for all weapons including the ones from Glitter Tech. I changed nothing between the current state and the original non-working state, and I cannot explain why it works now. It was definitely not working earlier for those specific weapons, while other weapons on the same bill smelted just fine.

No clue. If it happens again I'll see if I can find anything of note about the game state and if relevant I'll post it here.

hi one thing i have sometimes had to do in general, is to use the inventory mod (or a similar stockpile/item location mod), to see if an item that a bill requires, is actually in a stockpile (or in transit/picked up and hauled by someone in their inventory. usually when a bill cant proceed, it has been because an item was not being seen in a stockpile... maybe that is the case here too?
modusponens 18 May, 2022 @ 2:21pm
Can't get this to work on OCDefense weapons. They appear in the list for the bill, but the work can't be done due to lack of materials. We definitely don't lack those weapons. This is with SMS at the end of the load order.

It does work for weapons from other mods, like Sparkling Worlds. It only seems to be weapons from Glitter Tech, which unfortunately is the crap I most want to get rid of.

Any ideas? Or should I go complain at Glitter Tech?
Holgast  [author] 7 May, 2022 @ 7:04pm
It's working for me. What mods are you using, and what are you trying to smelt?
Holgast  [author] 7 May, 2022 @ 6:49pm
What's the issue? I'll run some tests.
Holgast  [author] 13 Aug, 2021 @ 6:47am
the same way as you usually smelt things...with a smelter
king potato 13 Aug, 2021 @ 4:47am

thanks for answer and update it quickly!
Holgast  [author] 17 Jul, 2021 @ 3:56pm
OOhhh, I thought I updated all my mods. I guess I overlooked this one! It should work fine in 1.3 though.
Lucas 🍀 17 Jul, 2021 @ 2:19pm
will you update it to 1.3?
Holgast  [author] 5 Apr, 2021 @ 6:57am
Essentially, yes. You should be able to smelt weapons and apparel of any material, including modded.
Tobbss 5 Apr, 2021 @ 6:12am
Is this mod doing the same as the "smelt everything mod" but with modded items too?
Holgast  [author] 29 Mar, 2021 @ 1:15am
Yes, the same way that smelting metal works in vanilla.
VoidRose 27 Mar, 2021 @ 8:18pm
dose it give back the materials like stone and beta poly?
Kerantli 10 Feb, 2021 @ 7:49pm
I didn't know I needed this until just now. Finally a way to get rid of annoying tribal weapons!
pgames-food 8 Jan, 2021 @ 3:30pm
nice, i'll check this out in my current game :)
recycling is always fun.

(btw if you have basic vanilla bows, and want to do something else with them, i only have 1 recipe to dismantle it in my Rimside Recycling mod, but it gives a few things that can be used like making rope and packaging in ClingRim - one of bearhiderugs favourite things) :lunar2019piginablanket:
VERSICHERUNGSGÜNTHER 8 Jan, 2021 @ 12:21pm
Thank you, it annoyed me all the time that i can't recycle my stone and wood weapons.. :D
Holgast  [author] 2 Jan, 2021 @ 6:55pm
yeah, I was annoyed that I couldn't reclaim all those stone blocks in vanilla.
