As a welder IRL, the flickering is worse in-game than any other process I've seen.

This game seriously needs an epilepsy mode. Thanks for the work you do.

Broken, it now flickers more than it did previously. Though still less than vanilla so clearly it's trying to do it's job but an update must have broken it.

It still blinks for me. This is the only mod I have enabled and I double checked that it is active. Would appreciate some help. I need a mod like this or I won't be able to play this game because of epilepsy.
So stupid of the devs to have such obnoxious particle effects.

any way to remove the sparks too? or make it 90% less to make the game playable for people with photosensitive epilepsie

as a former irl welder ....its incomprehensible to me that nobody ever watched 5 mins of youtube vids of how/why/what about welding to know its a legit concern to look at ...lightning, and how that might be not a fun experience. THANKYOU FOR THIS MOD! now i can feel less stupid welding ingame, doing something you never do irl, look at the lightning lol.

@PaleMemories @nonya0992 I've identified the problem as the Light* settings in HandItems.sbc and applied a workaround. This may impact other mods that affect the hand welders.
The eyestrain reduction has now also been applied to the ship welding block.

@Nitro Copy the mod's "Particles_B_overrides.sbc" file from (...\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2360788836\Data\) into ...\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Data\ to make it work for you on servers without the mod.

my hero, thank you for this mod.

@PaleMemories I have the same issue. The welder seams to pulse every second and thus still provides a strobe effect. The majority of the brightness is gone which is nice but that strobe effect still is not good.

this situation has really been a problem since the existence of the game, and although I mentioned it on the game forums, it still hasn't been solved. Thanks for the mod.

This mod is great! I have been having an issue where instead of a continuous light, it blinks off once every second or so leading to a slight blinking effect. Is this a bug, or do I need to fix something on my end?

thank you so much for this

This I'm sure, saved me from a guaranteed epilepsy seizure.
My last Grand mal seizure was 12 years ago this year and Im not about to break that record chain because a team of rave loving devs want to re-live that same eye raping disco with welders in the game.
Now I can continue my journey and experience this games ultimate Lego sandbox without that nuisance.
And not only did this mod fix the issue, it made it exactly how I think it best should have been to start with.
A Really satisfying experience with this mod to say the least and not removing effects or anything like some other mods does, that would make it so much more of a bore to me.
Many thanks and my hat off to you good sir for this good solution and fix.

You deserved my first ever given steam award.
With all regards, Mullvaden :Mole:

Can you please make a version of this mod which complete disable wielding effect?
Sage 23 Apr, 2021 @ 3:06pm
Is there any way to use it in online gaming if its not one of the servers mod?
Dratgon 24 Mar, 2021 @ 4:52pm
Great, was looking for something like this. Is there anyway to make the sparks' lighting effects darker as well? (even IRL a dark-dimmed medium is used while welding to protect the eyes)
Orikarrubos 18 Jan, 2021 @ 8:23pm
As someone whom IS photo-sensitive, thank you very much! I keep looking for ways around this very issue, but nothing's ever really worked, so I get stuck playing in creative, or with creative tools in survival.

This has made my day.
Sacrid Author 18 Jan, 2021 @ 4:37pm
Thank you. I'm not photosensitive, but I do remember thinking that the strobing is rather annoying.
