Hmm, I wonder what could have caused a simultaneous failure of every column in the building? Certainly not a plane that didn't hit it. Good thing Silverstein had taken out comprehensive insurance on the WTC buildings shortly before the 11th, what a lucky guy!

I can comfortably say there are no tables and chairs in the lobby of the real building. There's a long desk for security with turnstiles on each end and a scrolling text wall behind the desk. Around the other side of the text wall are banks of elevators.

That little criticism aside :) this looks incredible!

Fun fact: the 2006 building was also the exterior shots used for the "Massive Dynamics" HQ in Fringe.

@ausgates the University of Alaska at Fairbanks's engineering dept did a study on WTC 7.

"The principal conclusion of our study is that fire did not cause the collapse of WTC 7 on 9/11, contrary to the conclusions of NIST and private engineering firms that studied the collapse. The secondary conclusion of our study is that the collapse of WTC 7 was a global failure involving the near-simultaneous failure of every column in the building."

@ausgates This building was not involved in 9/11. This building was opened in 2006.

@gamer girl: WTC7 was an engineering nightmare for any scenario whatsoever. Even in the lovely model designed by Milgram, you can see the base of the building is supported in the center with beams expanding out to hold up the upward floors. The lack of support around the edges made the building extremely vulnerable should any load-bearing beam above it be destroyed. After a fire burned for hours, the building ultimately collapsed due to this design feature.
