Whats different from optre on these ?

I like these A.I. It's an improvement over the kind of broken Optre version. Though I have to ask. Is there an option for the Elites to wield swords? I see the gravity hammer option for the Brutes but not the sword for the elites. Though the hammer is not working either but may it's me.
