Will report back, I'mma make a sun worshiping Christian sect in Jerusalem
If any of these work, I'll request they get added to the Compatibility section. If not, I'll request an update to have them work
However, I have always had a problem with same-sex marriage.
Although the rules of marriage are permitted, celebrated, or virtuous and adoption is always permitted, when I ask for marriage, I take a -500 for the opinion that the marriage will have no descendants, even if he is not the first heir.
You got any advice for someone who wants to get into modding, but only knows literally a thing or two about coding? Maybe a good place to start or a good resource to use? Thanks
Though I finally got around to looking at the one you linked and it looks like the problem is on the other mods end. They are overwriting all the doctrines, including the crime doctrines this mod needs, despite the fact it looks like they are not making any changes to them. If they removed the code for doctrines they don't functionally change from their md_doctrines.txt file their mod would have improved compatibility with other mods.
Added a decision for ritual cannibals to eat their recently deceased ancestors (pretty reliable way to get the cannibal trait if you have the tenet). Changed how same-sex concubines are determined so it is not always tied to same-sex marriage. Plus a lot of bug fixes

I changes the code in the mod to allow for concubines as shown here:
#Marriage
doctrine = doctrine_concubines
#Crimes
doctrine = doctrine_homosexuality_accepted
It works.
I also made a mod to EPE culture file: 00_goidelic.txt to have the tradition of concubines instead of polygamy in Ireland.
That works too.
I found in your file :cc_marriage_interactions.txt
the code lines :
modifier = { # A Recipient is unwilling to take a same-sex concubine if their faith doesn't support it
add = -1000
scope:recipient = {
allowed_to_marry_same_sex_trigger = no
sex_same_as = scope:secondary_actor
}
desc = SAME_SEX_MARRIAGE_FAITH_REASON_RECIPIENT
}
not sure if any of this helps, but just more info.
Thanks.
For the game rules I selected are Same-sex relations - Player Celebrated (same sex relation are celebrated by Player's starting Faith) Same-sex Marriage - Only Concubines ((same-sex concubines are available to those whose faith celebrates same sex relationships and can take concubines.)
I read this is that I should be able to offer a same sex concubine. Unless because I selected Player Celebrated? but the description indicates that it would apply to the players faith in general.
Also there is now a new doctrine for Jainism that forbids all types of killing.
In addition, I suggest that we can reduce the cost of the competition and increase the income it brings. It is now too low in cost performance
