Note that if you use this in combination with Base Tech Rebalance, you'll probably need to set your dash and distortion sphere to separate keys.

Fantastic mod, absolutely love it! Especially the fact that you still keep momentum even after dashing which makes this feel really fluid.

One problem, could you perhaps make it so that you can't dash while standing still since I can no longer shift click that reliably. (as I've replaced the shift key with alt and I keep pressing shift by accident)

it can be easy if you know what you're doing, but ambition can get you stuck in spaghetti code depending on what you're tampering with

I really like this mod the Dash feels very good allows you to pull movements that you are unable to pull using the regular dash you did a really good job on this.

that's been on my mind from day 1, the real problem is execution, and actually having to code these things

Love the mod, its fun to use, maybe in a future update you could add the Super Dash and Hyper Dash to the moveset?

-Super Dash: dash into a jump.
(functions like a long jump, gets the most height)

-Hyper Dash: jump then dash diagonally into the ground, jump again before the dash ends.
(sends you farther than the Super, mainly used for getting distance instead of height)

You sure this mod is causing this issue? I'm fairly certain that device is always online from the get go, its where you get the Tech Console which is pretty much just an utility tool like how outpost also lets you buy teleporters from the very beginning

I didn't change anything on that device, I only added a .patch that makes that device sell my tech

if you mean Tech additions, yeah, as I mention that mod, I used Pulse Boost as the basis to make this dash, also worth noting that pulse boost is just rocket jump without a "charge" stance, at least code wise

the chain unfortunately ends there cause starbound's movement is so stupidly tame, its a good start tho, its windows like this that could allow for hyper dashes in the future

I patched this yesterday, its now tech2, aka special 2 , and it can be bound to anything on the controls menu...

about the drop chances, I'll get them checked, at least in high tier planets this wasn't as common
as for using twice without touching the ground, you should really specify what you mean

also glad you noticed the delay! it does in fact have a 0.2s window before the dash comes out, this allows you to effectively chain your dashes by dashing just before you hit the ground getting a reset without losing your speed

I honestly wanted pink, but I dont know if full-armored space marines would want pink, so I thought about green cause pico-8 had green instead of pink...
and only after all this that I realized that these are both for the double dash hair, not for the normal dash that is blue :hmmmx:

Make sure you're on the Tech Console Dispenser, that's where you buy this tech as shown in screenshots

changing the "Walk" keybind, changes the dash keybind as well.

I will try to see a different bind for the dash but keep it in mind that dashing with G or with F already felt awful when playesting, there's a reason I went with shift
It really sounds counter intuitive to bind it to "tech 2" if you ultimately end up using Shift for it because its the only key that feels right for such a dash

worth noting that holding down Shift doesn't make you dash, so it doesn't mess up precision mode nor walking that much, you can also just dash straight down to not go anywhere once you're done holding down the key

It uses the walk button, which defaults to Shift, changing the keybind changes the dash as well
