Added this mod mid campaign LWOTC. Have played over 10 tactical encounters since adding but haven't seen a single one of these guys. Force lvl:11. I also added A Requiem For Man: The Requiem Legion, when i added this and I've seen enemies for this other mod almost every mission. Any chance there is a conflict of any kind? or change to have these guys spawn?

There's some grammar errors in the report Tygan gives after you research the black flame grenade. Be happy to send you a corrected version, or not, not a huge deal either way. Great mod, super cool mobs, 10/10 would recommend.

Are XCom soldiers supposed to automatically hunker down on the next turn after using a black flame grenade? This happened to my grenadier and it caused me to lose him because I saw nothing listed in the mechanics about this.

@Linkerlink With no changes to the ini file (FL stands for Force Level)

-Leaders-
Harrier Captain = FL 10
Beleaguer Captain = FL 10
Devastator (The Big Baddies lol) = FL 16 (Can have two of these leaders PER POD)

-Followers-
Harrier = FL 8 (the same time Berserkers start showing up)
Beleaguer = FL 8
Devastator = FL 16 (So you can end up with full pods of Devastators lol)

For comparison
FL 8 = Spectres show up
FL 10 = Tier 2 Stun Lancers
FL 16 = Sectopods and Gatekeepers (FL14 with specific SitReps)

@Zin yes it is, I'm currently running both along with A Harder War: Advanced Aliens and A Harder War: Advanced Alien Missions (Really hard Siege Missions) and Diverse Aliens By Force Level with a guaranteed 1 added to each pod every 5 force levels lol Needless to say I'm having to work for it. (My first terror/siege mission in the first month took me an hour and about 50 enemies dead) lol

Just brutal - plain and simple. Fantastic addition to the roster but jeez the step up in difficulty when these guys start showing up in appreciable numbers can be campaign-ending!

Black Flame Grenade commands:
additem XCOM_BlackFlame_Grenade (for the unlockable version of the grenade)
additem Devastator_BlackFlame_Grenade (for the grenade the Devastators use)

The differences are purely cosmetic, however the Devastator grenade doesn't have a proper throw animation, so it looks a bit silly when thrown.

It's a good mod and all but there is a notable issue that makes them a bit too difficult in certain scenarios (mostly chosen missions and resistance haven assaults where there are already too many heavy hitters around)

Was just watching Odd's Let's Play and he had the Beleaguer Captain use his Beam Sweep to kill one of the soldiers he was trying to rescue. The soldier in question was not activated yet.

I assume this is a glitch and not how it is supposed to work?

Outstanding work. I simply cannot get enough of the Muton Devastator reveal animation (I think the Beleaguers do it too, but the Devastators do it better). It's just so good. Is it a reference to a certain Prak Jaws (from Tear of Grace's Shadow of Mordor playthrough)?

Quick update to fix an issue that i'm surprised no one seemed to notice. Apparently the Xcom Black Flame Grenade was not properly applying the status effects when launched with a Grenade Launcher, it should work properly with Grenade Launchers now.

Quick update to fix some issues with the Devastator's Lightning Vengeance ability(their revenge melee counter ability), the ability should still activate if the Devastator is on fire, disoriented, or confused. But not if it's frozen, bound, or stunned.

Cool stuff! I like these new Mutons. Much scarier than the standard ones that come with the game; they are much more like the Muton Elite from XCOM:EW.

I haven't yet used the Black Flame Grenade. Soon aliens. Soon ^_^.

Love these guys. helps give Flavor to my campaing and laughs when i see my memelord friends character go from human animation to muton slenderman thanks to weapon skin replacer. probably my favorite mod for seeing a change to kinda meh aliens. Can't wait to see whats next mate
