The Ruins of Enduil map also has the checkerboard effect unfortunately. Hopefully you find the time to fix all those issues soon because your work really helps make the game more beautiful!

like Freankh ask, would be great to have a much nicer texture for the environment of the campaign map ! also some stones from the battles are poor in detail compare to your wonderful improvement of the ground !

Hi, I noticed that all the ground in Yvresse, be it during the siege or on the battle map all the ground is Black. Can anyone replicate this?

Most maps doesn't have any issues but these I know are impacted by the issue as of now:

Witchwood Hollow
Witchwood Glade
Wildwood prison
The silver seal

Seems quite extensive finding all these textures that somehow generate grid paterns on the map. If you find them for me I will gladly correct it but I do not have time to track down every single texture. I've done it on a few now but it takes a lot of time and I don't know why this happened to a few of them in the first place as the upgrade was done by automation.

If you want to help me find faulty textures:
Step 1: Disable every part of this mod and start the map with the issue until the issue disappears, then you know which part it is in.
Enable the part again, now we need to find out the exact texture inside the part mod.

Step 2. Download and run Rusted PackFile Manager (RPFM), open the impacted part file located inside warhammer Data folder. Remove textures and re-save the part file until the issue is gone. When the error dissapears you know which texture is causing the issue. Type here and I will manually solve the issue with the texture. Thanks :)

The 'checker' patern is visible on the Witchwood Hollow, Witchwood Glade and Wildwood prison custom battle maps.. did not test others.

Great idea to texture the backgrounds in 4k.
I'm going to have to make choices among my many mods. ^^

Just one thing. It would have been nice to put your photos of presentations with before / after.

There was an issue on the batttle map for Gorssel. It had a faulty texture: sand_gen_01_diffuse.dds in Part9. This has now been resolved (2021-08-14)

It's caused by the texture grass_emp_01_diffuse.dds in Part 7.

I was able to trace the texture error back to Part 10. It affects the texture skv_grass_01_diffuse.dds

Oh, that looks horrible. Thank you for the screenshot Melinda! First I would have to find out which textures are impacted out all the 362 textures. If someone finds which textures are impacted I will just remove them from the mod files. We may start by looking in to which of the 10 parts is containing the textures which have this issue.

Unfortunately, I get checkered textures on multiple maps. I've forgotten most of their names, but I for sure get them on Underways, most Skaven-related maps, and the Wildwood Prison map. I play with everything on max.

I hope that's fixed soon, but other than that, I love the better clarity. :steamhearteyes:

Can confirm issues with Skaven siege map ground textures. Non-textured squares litter the ground under a certain depth.

@Mazisky Yes I had to try to mimic the format settings of the original game manually. It was a trial and error process tuning the texture brightness until they looked almost perfect. So yes, they are a tiny bit darker then vanilla which has room for improvement.

@Alfin I have a combined version of the mod but it was to large to upload to the steam workshop due to file size limits.

@Odin-Son I really hope they improve the ground for their third game. Parralax occlusion mapping is my biggest request, the ground is way to flat currently.

After many testing I would say the textures look very great and definitely better than vanilla, the only minor issue I have is that they are more darker than vanilla ones, do you know what causes this? Good work regardless

If some experienced modder knows a way to add a Parallax Occlusion shader to the ground I think that could take the game to another level. If so, please PM me and I will try to generate all the displacement textures from the now upgraded normalmaps. I think it would look amazing to get the ground less flat. Vertex tesselation is not an option.

Ran test battles in karl franz starting battle and Ungrim. Both noticeable improvement over base game.

Ok here we go playing everything on ultra, there is no noticeable performance drop, i ran the benchmark several times with mod on and off. The textures look sharp and a def improvement, after disabling them again the original textures looked out of focus and flat.

One minor issue i found was when you rotate the camera and zoom in in a downward camera attitude there was a flat black or grey border on the bottom of the screen. In game i doubt thats going to be an issue because who moves the camera that close to the ground and at that extreme an angle.

Mods great, a solid improvement over the base textures. Of course results may vary based on your system but it's a solid 8.5 out of 10 for me and a keeper. Give it a shot. Liked and uprated :)

I tried to do this for a while but since I am noob all the terrain texture edited resulted entirely black in-game for reasons to me unknown. I don't know how you managed to do it but really good job!

Looks Awesome, will you be doing the cityscape aswell for example buildings/paths/roads etc..
Thses mod on top of the 4K faction mods bringing up the HD quality :D
