I see that it does make for an interesting challenge sometimes.
Though, sometimes it gets frustrating enough I want to just use loads of dynamite lol. Used it for the first spider statue in particular. Just couldn't get past the stream of spiders.
Also, sometimes a zombie will spawn and keep me from trying to be careful about traversing the dungeon. I don't know if it's something you can just "fix" but it's something to keep in mind, I suppose.
As for the pressure plates... working as intended, basically. Some of the spawner traps can create feedback loops, so part of the challenge is in disabling them. The sandstone of the pyramid can be blown up for a reason!
Most of the time going through the dungeon is pretty fun, but sometimes I'll trigger a skeleton statue, only for that skeleton to trigger the same pressure plate, and as I'm killing the slimes and bats that result, more skeletons are created from the first skeletons getting knocked back into those, and it kind of turns into a puzzle of how to stem the tide of enemies.
I think the pressure plates only being triggered by the player would make things a bit better, as that should stop a feedback loop of enemies.
Otherwise, love the pyramid! I'm not sure what the large gems do so far, but I'm gonna carry them to the end!
Thank you!
I think once the dungeon changes are through with I'm calling this map "finished"
Also, that dungeon overhaul sounds awesome, can't wait to try it out! Since I'm playing without building anything, I can just abandon a previous world if you update it, and I don't really lose much. Except for the NPCs, which will be kinda annoying, but it's worth the cool stuff you'll add.
I'm working on a significant overhaul to the tri-color dungeon at present, so that'll be a pretty major update.
Glad you're enjoying the map and the pyramid dungeon!
And yeah that sounds good, just say that it's a modified version of this map and link back to this workshop page.
Since I would be making a big effort, I was thinking of adding it to the Steam Workshop, so if I do that, how do you want credit? Something like "Sisyphus' Trial (MODIFIED)" I should think, with a link to the OG page on the workshop.
Also, you said something about parts of the jungle accessible only from the surface, does that mean you've made custom underground areas that you need to break blocks to get to? I can tolerate some wall breaking, I just don't want to go spelunking like in a normal Terraria playthrough lol.
I just want to see all the cool areas you've made, so I don't want to be missing out cuz I didn't want to dig for a bit.
Also, I really liked the sand bits in the pyramid, with the shovel being provided. It adds a lot of immersion I think, and a bit of a challenge to try to dig through while avoiding traps and enemies and stuff. Makes it feel like you're really discovering unexplored territory.
It might be possible, but I didn't create the world with an "adventure map" playstyle in mind.
Much of the underground ocean to the left won't be accessible, as it's all flooded pockets in the coralstone, but that's not required for progression (though it is one of my favorite areas).
You can get to the Underworld using a demon conch from a locked shadow chest in one of the pirate ships, so that allows you to face the Wall of Flesh... though I'm not sure you can get to Route 666 on the left side of the underworld without destroying blocks.
I think the hardest thing might be finding a Plantera bulb in the parts of the Jungle accessible solely from the surface.
Best of luck to ya; let me know how it goes!
