This mod is unlicensed, so anyone is free to fix it and improve on it.
Yes, it is strange... the mod does the same symptoms played with extraction (cdlc: western sahara) I like this mod badly because of how soothing to my eyes (looks like dark mode)
Note to people who use my mod : This mod is currently not updated, but I will start working on a brand new version in a few months, with fewer compatibility issues, and more functionalities.
Add-On made by Hoplite,
-When opened in "DUWS_X 3.05 by Killa Tomata"
-Any terrain, Altis, Stratis, Takistan, Tanoa, and etc.
it delays all active mods/scripts enabled in gameplay, 15 mins into the game makes delaying all loading vanilla scripts (entering zeus, placing units/assets, loading arsenal, and etcetera.), and lastly, 30 mins into the game... all scripts by commanding, saving game, and option changes makes the game freezes or unstable.
so therefore, -𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗗!- unless, it gets fixed.
Perhaps this can be improved in some way?
Or a color picker, something like that. Customizable
Note that in future versions I intend to make it customizable so you will be able to tune the map at your likings.
It was almost a relief to go back to the vanilla map. A map created by proven military simulation experts couldn't be that wrong. And it ain't indeed. I like its puristic approach much better.
- go into the mod folder >> addons.
- Unpack DIS_enhanced_map_ace.pbo (using a software like pbo manager)
- Open config.cpp
- Find class RscMapControl
- Find the line : maxSatelliteAlpha = 1;
- Replace it by : maxSatelliteAlpha = 0;
- Do any other change you want
- Save and Repack the .pbo
Is there a way to disable the satmap view it gives per default, the vanilla-like, which actually isn't available in ace at all? I like the mode that turns on when you press the "change map texture" on top-right when using this mod, and I'd like only that to be available.
- Comme par exemple ptsPerSquareRoadSimple = 5.5;
- Sauvegarder, et recompresser le fichier du mod en .pbo.
To Tweak the mod files :
- go into the mod folder >> addons.
- Unpack DIS_enhanced_map_ace.pbo
- Open config.cpp
- Find class CfgLocationTypes
- Find the class corresponding to what you want to tweak.
- Change the color value to your liking, (format {R,G,B,A} in percentages) or delete it to restore default settings.
- Do any other change you want
- Save and Repack the .pbo
J'ai cependant trouvé un bug entre "RR Immersives Maps" et "Enhanced Map ACE". La map n'apparaît plus entre les mains du joueur. Une idée ?
So the first issue is that Arma 3 engine can't even display properly a 2D map without struggling.
The second issue may be your config is severely outdated, or your 3den mission is overloaded with units, waypoints and such.
The third issue can be an other mod.
I've spent a long time tweaking this mod so it impacts FPS the least possible, but this mod can cause a slight drop in fps indeed. 2 to 3 fps max in the worst scenariis.
This drop occurs at some zoom levels, due to the amount of details displayed : when you see the entire map and also forests and roads.
At those zoom levels, in Vanilla I get 25 fps. With my mod I get 23 fps. I'm on a 2014 old laptop with 2.26 GHz 4core GPU and 3GB Vram.
That's not exactly a good config, so the fps drop you encounter should not be higher than 2-3 fps at worst, compare to Vanilla, on the most demanding zoom levels.
