Still the only skin you need imo. Best hitboxes in the game. Feels the best to play. No contest.

The light-colored grays are the only thing you need to get used to but it's a very minor issue.

Unfortunately, I don't think I have the investment in this skin anymore to be able to make additions like this (nor do I have the 3D modelling skills). I believe when you download the skin, it's open for you to modify, so if someone has the ability and 3D modelling skills to add these elements (or elements like them if copyright is an issue), I would welcome these additions. Otherwise, I think the answer is to play the first game again for the memories.
Salamank4427 20 Jul, 2023 @ 1:08am
I don't know if anyone asked this before, but is there any possibility you could add the background effects the first game had? Like some wings flapping, some gems and things that looked like trees. They were really cool to watch on the first game and I really miss them tbh :'B
DimentionKnight 17 Mar, 2023 @ 11:10pm
I'd love to combine this skin with the reverse skin, but sadly I know nothing of modding. The collision is perfect on this!
Gyrolagh  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 8:15am
Thanks for the compliment! It may be possible to darken the grey blocks. It's been so long since I've worked on this that I've forgotten a lot, and it may take me a while to get back up to speed. Unfortunately, I doubt it's as simple as changing a number, since the grey blocks only appear bright because of the white highlights.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll keep it in mind but cannot promise to get to it.

This is the best skin in the game for audiosurf 1 players, but is there any way to reduce the glow effect or darken the grey blocks some more? I think other people have commented on the same thing but otherwise it really is the best skin in the marketplace and I wouldn't change anything else about it. The camera angle and ship collision is chefs kiss.

Although the expanding traffic is added by the mod, it is possible to prevent it with the skin. A change by Glyde to do just that has been implemented in the most recent update.
futo 25 Feb, 2019 @ 3:10pm
I'm always curious if it's possible to stop traffics from expanding when they get near, as that effect is very distracting; at least for me who play and prefer AS1...
V0ID 28 Nov, 2018 @ 7:19am
Ohh! Pretty cool skin! Thank you!
nano 8 Jul, 2018 @ 12:01am
Great skin!
Camille 7 Jul, 2018 @ 9:18pm
Thanks for the fix ! ^^
Gyrolagh  [author] 7 Jul, 2018 @ 7:58pm
It looked like it was an issue with non-power-of-two textures. It should be fixed now. I see that the subtitle of this skin is missing, so I will include that in another update (not as urgent).
Camille 7 Jul, 2018 @ 7:54pm
Hope you can fix it soon! ^^
Other skins are unplayable, I'm too used to this one! :')
Gyrolagh  [author] 7 Jul, 2018 @ 7:30pm
It's broken for me as well. Sorry about that. I'll try to figure out how to fix it shortly.
futo 1 Jul, 2018 @ 2:22pm
Is the match animation broken for everyone else? Started to happen after the update.
Camille 5 Apr, 2018 @ 4:34pm
I've been using it for quite a while, and it's definitely the good one.
Perfect, thanks a lot.
futo 13 Mar, 2018 @ 12:01pm
This skin saves Audiosurf 2; as an Audiosurf 1 player I always hate how we hit blocks at the very very tip of the car. Thank god
Un-Gamer 26 Dec, 2017 @ 9:15am
Excellent skin! I use it pretty much all the time!
OldestSonOfMayhem 5 Apr, 2016 @ 10:58pm
hmm false alarm, apparently it works now, Guessing the comp restart fixed it o.0. audiosurf and its odd bugs -.-.
Gyrolagh  [author] 5 Apr, 2016 @ 9:38pm
That's unfortunate. I'm not sure what the issue is, as it works on my end with what I assume is the current version of Audiosurf 2. Perhaps there's a compatibility issue with the mode? Have you tried using it with the "mono" mode? If it works with that, can you send me a link to the mode that makes it fail, so I can look into it?

If you tried it with mono, I don't have any ideas as to what could be wrong.
OldestSonOfMayhem 5 Apr, 2016 @ 11:18am
every time i try to use this skin i get mesh load error, tried validateing game tiles and re-subscribeing no effect. D:
SoulSpeed 5 Jan, 2016 @ 12:23pm
In combination with Ninjitsu Ironmode it's a great skin and goes really well towards Audiosuf 1.
But there's something really bothering me, just like Nintendork64 said, is that grey and/or colored blocks 'Glow' are to White-ish which is on rapid songs just too confusing and/or seeing it on time to wheter they're colored or grey especially when the track is on the Blue/Yellow state.
(white, yellow, grey are too close to eachother on the color palet in it's current state)
Making the glow on the grey blocks a lot darker would improve it.
As an example, just look at your own screenshot here and look at that grey block, it's more white than anything else xD

Anyways, all in all it's a great skin mod ;)
Schorspion 31 Oct, 2015 @ 1:12pm
Realy like this one. Thanks!
Nintendork64 18 Jul, 2015 @ 12:51am
I love the look of the square blocks. They look better than the circular blocks of Mono, and leagues better than the metallic blocks of Stadium.
The clearer puzzle grid is probably the best feature. Before, I couldn't easily tell at a glance whether I had 6 or 7 blocks in a column of my grid, because of LoD issues. It's simple now!
One problem is the grey blocks look a bit too much like the colored blocks when you're going so quickly. I'd prefer them to have a slightly different shape or size or a dark color, something to easily distinguish them from the colored blocks.
All of the colors seem brighter, which I don't mind, but the blue, when transitioning to green, seems way too bright.
All in all, I really love it, and I think I've found my new skin!
Blissful Winds 23 Jun, 2015 @ 3:57am
Otherwise, suggestion aside this is a PERFECT throwback skin.
Blissful Winds 23 Jun, 2015 @ 3:55am
For some mono modes, perhaps make some changes to the powerblocks and the power pellets (DoubleLozengeXL, powerpellet respectively) to make it look more Audiosurf-ish. I'm fine with the pellets being white blocks. The power block should just be a double-size white block. The gray blocks should be a bit darker to reduce confusion if this is made so.
Dralla 19 Jun, 2015 @ 4:27pm
So I bought Audiosurf 2 today and I really disliked the included classic skin so I went to look in the workshop and found this one! Perfect! Really helps to get used to this new game.

If you can find the superclassic.lua file, the thing you should be looking for is SetTrackColors. You should be able to find it with ctrl-F. Then, change the colors to {r=0, g=0, b=255} for blue etc. Then, you can do the same thing for SetBlockColors (the second one). Let me know if you have any questions.
K'Braid 8 Feb, 2015 @ 12:03pm
i don't know how skins work, is it possible to change the colours of the blocks? My favorite colour combination in Audiosurf 1 was blue-green-yellow-red-white and i would like to modify this to have it that way

nexfin100-senpai-sama-chan-kun 22 Nov, 2014 @ 10:47pm
sorry, got this mixed up with another classic skin
miwabog 17 Nov, 2014 @ 2:47pm
Oh thank god, a skin that simulates the first Audiosurf's Side-Sweeping. THANK YOU <3
Glyde  [author] 14 Nov, 2014 @ 2:59pm
I got the skin then did some tweaks. add me if u want the zip so u can reupload it
Dusk of Oolacile 10 Aug, 2014 @ 9:51am
So far the best skin I found to make the game look more like the original. The only complaint I have is the white border around the blocks.
Gyrolagh  [author] 20 Jun, 2014 @ 5:12am
Thanks for the feedback. This is the main skin I use because of the issues you noted with the default skin.
pes[GER] 18 Jun, 2014 @ 1:17pm
Just billiant! Thanks!
nexfin100-senpai-sama-chan-kun 17 Jun, 2014 @ 8:20pm
thank you.... the new grays piss me off to no end because they're almost invisible during a slow part with bumps. they look cool, just not all that practical. and the way the ship "feels" is just weird (compared to how easy it was to grab blocks in the first game) so this is a huge improvement.
OtaKuma 17 Jun, 2014 @ 7:25am
This looks nice man :) better as the original ;)
space bees 12 Jun, 2014 @ 4:21pm
I meant the blocks do the same thing. I don't really notice it anymore :)
Gyrolagh  [author] 11 Jun, 2014 @ 2:28am
That's fine. Depending on how I feel about it and other feedback, I may move the camera forward a little bit.
space bees 10 Jun, 2014 @ 1:05pm
My bad, after I posted that I noticed that they do the same thing in other skins.
space bees 8 Jun, 2014 @ 12:51pm
Great skin- the default ones are a little too busy for me, so one of the first things I did was look for one more like AS1. My only gripe is that the way the blocks increase in size right before you hit them is a little distracting; I know they did that in AS1 too, but not as much, I think.
(I also agree that the camera's a little further back than it needs to be, but that's not a big deal.)
Gyrolagh  [author] 6 Jun, 2014 @ 2:13am
The skin broke after an update to Audiosurf. It should be fixed now. The puzzle board still has a visual glitch, but that seems to be the case with the classic skin as well.
Jerti 4 Jun, 2014 @ 5:35pm
skin doesnt work for me;im getting an error missing file ...../skin/block.png
Gyrolagh  [author] 24 May, 2014 @ 11:12am
It doesn't actually allow side swiping. It just moves the camera and ship forwards so that blocks collide the ship at what I think is a more sensible location.
