thanks for this great mod. can you create more variants of mutated pets? (bear, wolf, lion etc.) also can you make some dark skinned mutated pets too?
PhaatDaddy 11 Oct, 2022 @ 4:27pm
No problem. I didn't know that they were in the address bar thank you.

(It's in the address bar for this page, that works for every mod)

Mini: Sorry for the late reply! It affects all vanilla pets, including the DLC ones.

What is the mod Id?

Does this affect the stats of DLC animals? The caravan rhino is a staple for me because of the slots.

Oh thank you for clearing that up!

Update on the previous post: AoC just adapted to using the NPCStatsAndGrowthDataTable, and they're using custom entries now - meaning there is no longer a conflict with my mod. AoC pets will now have the stats their creator intended, no matter if AoC or this mod is loaded first :)
Nordali  [author] 14 May, 2021 @ 2:28pm
@Vindsama: Not intended, but known - I seem to have forgotten to list it in "Known Issues" though, will add that tonight.
To change the stats of vanilla pets, I had to change the entries for their "categories". Like, panthers, tigers and sabretooths for example all get their stats from the same place - an entry called "Cat" in the stats table. Any pets from other mods that also use the "Cat" entry as their bases will thus get the same buffs. That one can't be avoided sadly. The only way around that would be either to have every single modder switch their stat base, or to remove the pets you don't want to be buffed from your itemTable completely. That part is actually easy, but it means those pets would not be available at all.

@Vevend: Unfortunately still outside my skillset. There is a solution though - if you wanted a mod that only buffs the vanillas, not introduces premiums, it's very easy to make it with your own values - there's basically only one file that has to be changed. Because that file is the Funcom-broken one and it has to be overwritten, the mod will need immediate maintenance whenever Funcom makes changes to that file (NPCStatsAndGrowthsDataTable), which means I can't maintain the mod myself, I'll already have my hands full.
But I'd be very happy to instruct you in how to make and maintain one with lower values for your server, it's easy. :)

Hello there, nice mod!
It seems to have buffed the AoC pets as well, was it intended? I have a Scourge Hound with 32k HP rn.
Vevend 14 May, 2021 @ 8:08am
@Nordali: Thanks for the respond. i would have been fine with it being a config file or part of the games ini. Do you happen to have your mod open source, if not then its okay? We are on a vanilla server but upset with how weak the animals are and will likely still use this mod.
Nordali  [author] 13 May, 2021 @ 3:32pm
@Vevend: The mod is mostly balanced for servers running AoC, as most do. Normal animals are roughly T4 fighter level, but with distinct strength and weaknesses - some will have more HP than any Vanilla thrall you can find, but do much less damage. Or the other way around. Or they will be a much bigger target. And of course unable to change weapons (and thus animations) like in a thrall. So, we're sort of compensating for that.
If you don't run AoC, I'd definitely keep the premium once out of the game (they are admin spawn only), those would be waaaay OP.
As far as a config panel goes, I'll have to disappoint you: I could likely learn the UI, but modifying the datatables on which the stats are based, at runtime (so not in the mod, but on the server while it is running), is far above my paygrade.
I hope the mod is still usable for you this way <3

@Lunaria.Lightpaw Man kann nicht alles haben. :(
Indeed it's theoretically possible, but I not without Espen's cooperation, and even then that could be a bit overpowered.
Vevend 13 May, 2021 @ 10:24am
Hello, is there any thoughts on a config to allow admins to modify the amount of buff the animals get. I was testing this on a single player map and some of the animals had almost 20k hp, we haven't seen a thrall that high yet. I've even spawned in some high level named and they only got to about 10k 12k hp if lucky perks. Our server really likes to use animals so we really like this Mod it just made some of the animals unkillable with food.
Lunaria.Lightpaw 12 May, 2021 @ 10:25am
Thank you for the swift reply. Pitty they´re not plague immune, but, I guess that that´s really challenging to achive especially since it´s not a base game mechanic but one added through a mod. And I was already imagining myselve with a true "Paulchen" (Pink Panther) on my side ... but, endgame AoC ... propably not what he deserves. Still, I´m gonna keep an eye on this. ^^

Aight, I'm going to go make my evil necromancer lair in the Mounds of the Dead now. Thanks!
Nordali  [author] 11 May, 2021 @ 4:47pm
Hi!

@Mr Tickums: The buffs affect any pet that uses the internal stat bases in the pet category. That means as examples: Yes, Undead Hyenas should be buffed, since they use the normal "Hyena" category. But no, skeletons are not buffed, since they use the "Undead" category.

@Lilith: Sadly I'm no good for making original stuff :D
I hope to add some more pets in the futures, but only ones that Funcom has already provided (just never implemented).

@Lunaria.Lightpaw: They're not plague immune, all I changed was their looks and the basic stats. For the new pets you're talking about I lack the skills I'm afraid.
Lunaria.Lightpaw 11 May, 2021 @ 8:55am
Hey there, interesting Mod. Well, you´ve been mentioning you positioned the buffed ones between two types of AoC-NPCs ... so, may I ask, are they plague immune? And, are you thinking about adding Pets equally to those of AoC (like Ashira, Malagan, Frost Hound) ... but, with the looks and especially the SIZE of the normal pets maybe slightly revamped like a "Super Mutation"? ^^
GothMommy 11 May, 2021 @ 12:56am
Would love to see some Dragons close to the AoC Black one but boss form something anyone yet to add is a strong AF Dragon pet most mods even hosavs are sadly weak .
Wurm 10 May, 2021 @ 8:35pm
This looks pretty awesome, and I thank you for the effort. Quick question, though: does this include the undead creatures you can create like the undead hyena and the skeletons?
