having these textured upscaled to double or so of the original resolution would probably be fine enough in terms of size. i just had to clean out my 4k texture mods for space reasons across all my games.

Because there is more then you think, including all the xen one, and its higher resolution of course its going to be bigger, 6gb isnt much anyway.
