Thank you very much, slugsmasher!

I like how this scenario was presented without a lot of hand-holding or excessive stop and reverse instructions. Just git-er done - shunt and go - fun stuff.

@chris: Thank you very much! Cheers, Tob

@robmerlo: Thank you for your feedback. The derailing is unusual, but I'm confronted with this behaviour from time to time when resuming a saved game. It seems to me like the loco configuration isn't loaded properly and the loco appears to be more "stiff" in the curves. But I am happy you've been successful. All the best, Tob

Another enjoyable run thank you Tob. Some nice shunting and a run up the branch, what's not to enjoy? Nothing to challenge the Large Prairie, although must confess I prefer driving the Small Prairie. Cheers.

thank you for a brilliant scenario just had to be very very careful with the last couple pick up as very susceptable to derailing at over .03 mph

That's true, Railfan. :-D

@TobBirk Well, the 7200 heavy freight tanks got about, so you can easily excuse it as one heading back home after repairs.
TobBirk  [author] 14 Jun, 2021 @ 3:05pm
P.S. Very useful are the many GWR-wagons which come with the 56xx. :-)

Hello Railfan, thank you for the short history of the 56xx! I've read about it when I did investigations for my scenarios for the Riviera 1950s. I was a bit disappointed when I read it. I like this machine really much, but we don't have a route for it. That's why I use it from time to time, even if Cornwall is not to the correct place for 56xx. All the best, Tob

@TobBirk and pparnis The 56XX was built to run in the South Wales Valleys, where 0-6-2Ts were found to run especially well as water would wash over the crown sheet whilst climbing the hills, and the rear bogie would allow the engines to run down the hills with a reduced chance of derailing. The engines rarely left the valleys, and were found to be very unstable when running smokebox first and prone to derailing-that aspect is certainly realistically simulated!

Thank you, Peter, Railfam and pparnis! I appreciate your postings.

@pparnis: The GWR 56xx comes with such a huge bunch of beautiful GWR freight wagons of all kinds - it's stunning. That's why I use it that much. The 56xx is a a somewhat strange but interesting machine. Unfortunately it has some problems with the many much too tight curves / switches of the unchanged basic track layout of the old Falmouth, that's why I didn't use the loco so far. The Pannier from Victory Works is one of the best TS steam locomotives IMHO. The physics are excellent, the appearance is a sheer beauty. No comparison to the default Pannier of the original Falmouth or Riviera in the 1950s.

Hi Tob,
Good to drive the Large Prairie again, no problem with this medium load up the gradients to Truro.
Finished in 46 minutes and a most enjoyable run.
I have just purchased a 24 inch monitor capable of resolution 1980 x 1024 which makes your route even more stunning !
By the way, the only reason I have not played more of your scenarios on this enhanced route is because I do not have the GWR 56 XX or the Pannier Tank Add-On.
Never mind, I have enjoyed all the scenarios that I have the assets for.
Thanks for sharing,
Best Regards,
Paul
