k so gmod changed some shader shit so i had to hex edit a dll for the parallax to work in gmod, can you add me on steam legoj15 so i can send you the patch or smthing?

almost 1 gb for a map is too much, it is like you can add nothing to the map to play with on it. it has taken all the resourses in the map only. just think it is almost the same size as the whole HL game

the parallax corrected cubemaps in gmod comment was me, the team member working on it quit his job at facepunch, he's no longer working on it. using mapbases vbsp will still be compatible with vanilla gmod by the way

I'm trying to keep this as compatible as possible with vanilla GMod as possible, so I won't be able to use mapbase's VBSP. Someone commented that the remaining team working on Garry's Mod would look into adding parallax cubemap support, so there that, but it's not as easy as just using mapbase's VBSP, i'd have to create special volumes for every cubemap that i wanted to be parallax corrected, which could take some time to do right, and I'm trying to spend as little time as possible on each map, so I can keep things fresh for me and not get burnt out. In regards to taking stuff from HL2:U, I won't be doing that at all, unless I was for some reason graced with their VMF files, because I don't want to decompile maps from a (allegedly, CSM support was being looked into) active project (besides, VMFs from decompiled maps are ass, and I would have to go back and re-do every map). Thanks for the suggestions though.

You should attempt to backport or recreate the particles, fog and geometry that the half-life 2 update version has. and if you use mapbase's BSP compiler you can add parallax corrected cubemap support and to see them in gmod you just copy over the gameshader dll into garrysmod/garrysmod/bin/
