Not sure why and this could just be a problem only I have, but the sprite appears to be scaled incorrectly. It is much smaller than the other characters.

@Qazzquimby. I forgot to reply to you on the last one, but I don't think making marked opponents unable to destroy whirlwinds that cool.

As for the other ones, the max charge punch has the strong hit on the actual punch, to having it linking together wouldn't really work, right now if you want to deal more damage and knockback, you should use it closer to the opponent.

We tried windboxes during development, believe me, you don't want that, same with wind pushing whirlwinds. And the NSpecial grab has been made smaller the last patch as well.

The Mark -> Whirlwind was nerfed to not be super broken at early percentage, but it should still reliably kill, specially with some smart setups

Some more questionable ideas:

When charged, fspec's fist hitbox could come out faster and chain into the wind hitbox, to make it more usable at close range?

Wind hitboxes pushing whirlwinds?

Windboxes? Probably not worth trying, I just like them and they're thematic. Maybe nspec grab-box could be smaller, but there could be a windbox pull before it, if that feels good.

Otherwise, I think the only thing I'm not enjoying much is the mark->whirlwind interaction seeming a lot less useful than other kill options.

Thanks for all your work on this, and for putting up with all my feedback.
I may just not be good with it, but I usually find mark -> whirlwind is usually too inconsistent to attempt, since fspec is hard to land and (unless you fspec directly into whirlwind) you have to win neutral again to get them into the whirlwind without them hitting you to break the mark.
Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Mark was a much bigger threat when whirlwinds were unremovable. Possibly bad idea: marked opponents can't kill whirlwinds?

Since cargo time can get very short right now, maybe there should be an indicator of when it will end, like flashing? Also maybe the minimum hold time doesn't need to be quite so short.

@Qazzquimby. Their collision box for that are the whole sprite, so perhaps yeah, maybe making it a bit smaller could work, I'll keep it in mind

This may be a nitpick, but whirlwinds seem to die even when the opponent wasn't trying to hit them. Maybe their hurtboxes are larger than they need to be?

@stevious09 That's very strange, since he's working for other players no problem, one thing I can say is perhaps try to use Maverick on the "Steam Workshop" section of the extras menu, and then back to the game

I downloaded him and at first he worked but my game crashed going through the color choices. After the game crashed when I go into a playtest him, the sprite is small and shows up underneath the stage instead on where the character actually is. I'e tried deleting the character files and redownloading but that didnt make a difference. Any idea how to fix it?

Haven't played a ton of Maverick so far, but my first impressions are that he's a lot of fun and has huge potential. He could probably use some slight nerfs and adjustments to make his whirlwinds more usable over just his normals, but overall great job.

Thanks, I'd just failed my parries and thought it couldn't be done.
I know that whirlwinds can backfire, but there are some configurations where that isn't really practical, usually when the whirlwind is blocking recovery options, or used as a barrier for you to charge fspecial behind.
Is that perceived as a problem?
Anyway the character feels great, and I hope it succeeds.

@Qazzquimby. If the opponent parries the whirlwind or any of Maverick's moves, the whirlwinds are destroyed, but another thing is, you can use the whirlwinds yourself as well, hit Maverick into them so that way you're the one comboing with them.

Love him, he's so fun to use! The only bug I found so far is an issue with his cargo throw, where if you get hit while grabbing an opponent, they will be attached to you while still being able to attack, getting basically free strings, with no way to get them off of you. Other than that, really enjoying the monke!
