are you gonna update this mod to rep+ (and maybe rgon+)?

I loved this mod, I recently bought the game on steam and legally started playing it, but when I try to play with this character I don't get the cards to select the role... any help? :c:steamsad:

Thanks. I have the unintrusive pause menu and it makes the sticky note clear, I think that might be messing it up.

i wouldnt know about that, if youre saying that you cant see them at all then pressing the drop/swap key in the role selection menu should make them appear again, other than that it sounds like some sort of bug maybe, they should look like the standard sticky notes in the main character selection menu

there is no hard mode marks, playing on hard mode is an optional kinda thing for the stranger, iirc it was made this way because the dev wanted to allow people to still get gold cards without playing hard mode if they didnt like it

Does the built-in post-it not differentiate if you play on hard mode or easy like the normal post-it? I play Hard all the time, but now I'm worried I'll accidentally play on normal somehow...

the only unlocks are the roles you are able to play when getting completion marks as certain other roles

ive never had that with this mod, far more likely to be an issue with horribly conflicting mods, or maybe you selected a stranger role, uninstalled the stranger mod, and then you couldnt access your save file because you had a saved run with a character that was no longer installed. there are a few bugs here and there with the character, but none that straight up nuke your file. the issue must have been caused by something else.

Be Careful! Do NOT restart AFTER choosing a Character UNLESS you want to Reinstall ALL of your mods AND your game!

Is it possible for the second player to choose a character?

I really love the mod! Though one suggestion I have, while minor, is maybe adding a command that toggles the effects of freeroles on and off? Or unlocks everything and makes everything free? I like freeroles and just being able to pick who I want or just doing some random picks, but doing so on controller is just a tiny bit cumbersome having to go into the console every run.

Question for either the author of the mod or someone mkre techniclly adept with TBOI, why does Breath of Life not worl as a pocket active? It doesn't trigger any shield, parry, or damage,it just keeps flashing the character and nothing else

i've been holding off on modding the game too much past quality of life until i unlock mostly everything, but I couldn't help but install this one because it seems so cool. already enjoying it, but im hesitant to try the characters that start with items i dont have unlock. do those items still work if they aren't unlocked? im hesitant because i feel like it's cheating without doing the work to unlock them. which is ironic because i just spawned a cracked key to unlock tainted lazarus after using the one i got legitimately by accident in the room before i ascended to home

Favourite character mod by far, really good variety! If you do have the 'Animated Items' mod installed, then the choose your character part no longer works and doesn't appear - just a heads up!

OMG thank you for the faster selection method!! So glad to have this mod working again. With some extra mods, I had 189 different roles and it was such a chore to get to some of them XD

I've added a way to advance in the card selection by 10 by pressing up or down. Also, keeping the buttons pressed down allows you to advance in the list of roles more quickly.

Since the last update, some mods cause problems with the visual rendering of other mods. My other mod, Nemesis, was one of them, and I fixed it.

yeah i can't pick any roles anymore since the update either. it just gives me the base with half a red heart

Hey, not to be a pain, but is it possible to implement some sort of search function into the mod at some point? If someone has quite a few stranger roles for Tainted Stranger, they may find it hard to find their favorites, since we currently can only scroll through them one at a time. Even a function to skip ahead 5 or 10 at a time would still be a great help. Maybe a favorites function?
Again, sorry to be a pain or sound like I'm demanding a lot, but I thought these were good ideas for the mod that I felt were worth suggesting.

Could you implement a way to see the completion marks for the role you're playing as? My memory is kinda bad and sometimes I forget what marks I don't have yet.

Hey, would it be possible to add a feature to scroll through roles more quickly?

With many tainted roles, something like "press key/button to skip ahead 10 cards" would be a godsend.

Also seconding a random role button. Having it so it simply scrolls to a random card rather than auto picking the role would solve any issues of not being able to afford it (or if you don't want to spend a lot of tokens) so you could just roll again.

I was thinking of that there could be Tainted Stranger roles which items from Fiend Folio,Repentance Plus,or Tainted Treasure Rooms. Pretty fun idea,huh?

I would love for a randomized role feature to be added. With the extended roles mod, there's like 180 choices and I have to go through them one by one every time :(

Will this ever get updates so it works better with cosmetic items?

Going to the alt path and then later re-entering the main path seems to cause it too. Or maybe it's all a coincidence and it just hapoens randomly. I do not know but I hope you can work it out and fix it

One thing that always seems to cause boss tokens and completion marks to stop working is when exiting a run and then resuming it.

"Since the starting items are no longer random, and can be very powerful, the starting treasure room will not give you any additional items (a chest will appear instead)."
that's not really a downside considering you can just skip the first treasure room for a planetarium chance. Perhaps instead it should replace the item from the 1st entered treasure room, instead of the 1st floor treasure room?
