I spawned them in and nothing's happening. I even move the cursor out of the timeline and back in hoping if that could "reload" the particle but it did nothing at all, and I can't see anything related to this particle

Check your SFM modfolders for a VMT named sakura.vmt Is there more than 1 (there will be 1 in your SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\materials\particle Folder and that is the one for this particle).
If you have more than one files in the search named sakura.vmt, what folders are they in and what is the load priority according to the SFM SDK - Edit Search Paths for Selected Mod? Is one in a folder that has a higher priority than the Workshop folder?
If yes, open the VMT in a text editor and check the $basetexture statement? Copy and paste that statement here and include the modfolder that it is in.
