@EEEEEEE Why state the obvious again?
Just saying: the mod author will fix everything [when he fixes it, if he does it at all].
Yeah, it might be a bit of a shame, but maintaining the mod is not Tom's job, he's not paid for it and he technically has no obligations. He can only do it at his own discretion and to the best of his ability.
So don't poke him with a stick - it's unlikely to change anything other than being annoying.

As noted in the prior post, this mod had 45 files. 30 of them have also been changed by recent vendor patches. The other 15 files won't need any other work.

Of the 30 files which were changed by both the mod and by vendor patches, 21 can be reconciled by automatically merging both sets of changes. Nine files cannot be automatically fixed.

Some of those 9 files have very few changes. A couple have a lot of changes.

Note that using an automated approach lets us see if the changes can be merged (due to each set of changes affecting different lines of the files). However, it does not tell us if it's actually appropriate to keep both sets of changes.

I'll probably look into manually fixing those nine and submitting the results to Thom for review.

I took a first look at starting an automated analysis of combining the changes from this mod with the changes made by patches to the base game.

I used the unix/linux utilities "diff" and "patch" in a script to isolate the different changes to each file and attempt to reconcile them. Analysis is pretty easy. Automated reconciliation was only partially successful.

Here's an overview of the analysis:

The mod contains 45 files:
6 files existing only in the mod (readme, mod icon, etc).
9 files that were changed by the mod by not changed by recent vendor patches.
30 files which were changed by both the mod and by vendor patches.

I actually sat down and started to fix it - and then realized I dont know how. The only thing I can think of is to manually compare and copy each line with the patch, or rewrite it from scratch. If someone could give me a hint on how to compare and update a xml semi-automatically, or knows how how to do it themself, then I will will give you credit. Sorry - just dont have time to redo from scratch. Id like to play it myself honestly.

It does not. I started to update it, and it is a huge project. Ive never had to update a mod over a patch. Going to take me a bit. Probably Christmas before I have enough time. Sorry.

@Zaikozila Well, first of all, this mod disables the game! Kek! Simply because that update in March changed something in the code, so at the moment, enabling this mod simply does not allow the game to start, hanging you in an eternal Black Screen. Alas and ah.

But to answer the original question - it seems that yes, it disables achievements, as does any mod (I'm not sure about those that make only cosmetic changes) that makes adjustments to the balance of the game.

Yep, a recent update broke this mod, causing the game to be in a constant state of starting a session..
Needs an update because I just can't play with Artificial Idiot anymore when he's stupid like in the base game.

How has been your experience using BAIE with ENFER AI mod? I tried them together and everything seemed working good but it was a short game.

@andres r I dont think it will make a difference. I worked with the very cool people at ESG to bring my changes to that mod, but the manpower there is just so incredibly massive that Although my changes made the space battles better, they still could not invade and kill planets. Like it still took 20+ end game FLEETS to kill a single planet. If the AI cant capture planets, it doesnt matter how good it is - it can never expand. So, that is the Issue. I like parts of ESG, but unless they overhaul their manpower system, the AI will never be good in it.

I understand fomr the comments that the key problem in the compatibility of these mods is the handling of manpower of ESG? Would it be possible to create a compatibility patch that on this regard the BAIE mod dominates?

This mod conflicts with 16x Overcolonization Limit Increased. If you use the former one, you cannot use the later one. Is there a way to use it at the same time?

@Kegheimer - I did not change colonization AI at all. Its possible the Argosy timer isnt off cooldown yet, or it is one of the bugs introduced by a patch. Download the fix mod. Dark Matter fix I think? It has Mickey Mouse as the graphic.

I have a broken AI script to report for the Vaulters. The Argosy has been idling at a space debris system for dozens of turns and is showing no interest in colonizing a very strong five planet system just outside their borders.

We are allied. Open / Closed borders is not an issue.

@Thom293 It seems the problem was on my side. I had no other mods active but there were some files messing things up. I verified my ES2 files and unsubbed/resubbed to your mod. Then I did a test, and, low and behold! There are all the missing Xeno-Indy values sitting on Drone Networks and Cerebral Reality.

Anyways my "test" turned into a full game with bucket-loads of fun, so thank you very much for creating this mod. The AI is much more engaging now.

Or the Empire... or Hissho... or any other empire. It just so happened that I prefer to focus on infrastructure first, and therefore in the first moves I have a very weak fleet, which only pirates do not beat with sticks.
In the meantime, how exactly do I change the load order of mods? Should the inflation mod be first on the list, or last? It seems that if I put this mod at the end of the list immediately after your mod, then the game gives an error and does not want to start the round

@Peni4 - I am glad you are enjoying it. The AI does use the market. But very poorly. But since raw materials are not so scarce anymore their economy is much better (which is usually what crippled them). And yes - I think in order to win on Endless now you need a good start, an ally, and pray you don't start next to the Cravers or Riftborn or Nakalim. ;)

Yes, I've already sort of "figured out" this. I use quotes in the sense that I just turned off the non-increasing inflation mod, and it made inflation not so crazy - at least I got rid of the numbers in 17+. And by the way, while this topic is still touched on - does the AI use the buyback function at all? Just wondering
In the meantime, great mod - it's just impossible to play against these bastards on Endless difficulty, and I love it! For the first time in a long time, I turned off win by conquest, as one of the competitors will definitely conquer 2/3 of the Galaxy by the time I manage to collect my destruction fleet.

@Peni4 I did not touch the inflation rate at all. If you have a mod that changes it, just change it in your load order and it should work.
