Got it. Thank you for taking the time to explain all these.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 7 apr. la 20:06
Oh, and one more thing, starbound is really weird and bakes biome information into the save file once you visit a planet.

If you swap my mod for that one, nothing will break except for the possibility of a single missing tree type, but planets you have already visited will not change, only newly discovered ones.

I don't consider that a problem but it is something you should know so that you don't think that there's something wrong with your game.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 7 apr. la 19:58
There's a sort of alternative to this mod (which believe it or not I actually prefer using instead of my own mod, lol.)

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2971436218

"Allow Parallax Transition" the feature I was talking about earlier, is not enabled by that mod.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 7 apr. la 19:53
Sort of.

The mod re-enables a vanilla feature that is disabled by default.
In pure vanilla, backgrounds are tied specifically "base biome" of the planet.
But with biome backgrounds re-enabled the background depend on the actual biome you are in.

The background of a planet I just visited is changing to another one without trees when I cross a certain point of the planet. Could it be a fault of this mod? Can you plz help me to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

could it be possible to just have the terrrain colors and the parallax colors be part of the mod? I just don't like the rdm trees everywhere...I like my game to look realistic like how it would be in a roguelite RPG survival game.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 1 sept. 2023 la 18:00
Sure go ahead.
S3r1ous 1 sept. 2023 la 17:12
Nice bit of variety for vanilla world.
Hey i am interested in adding/maintaining your mod in my mod pack (tested for compatibility),
I have all the links and everything in README file and modpack page directly for ur mod,
all credit where its due.
https://community.playstarbound.com/resources/s3r1ous-mods.1358/
Asking if i have your permission to keep it in the pack? (i will take it out if you dont agree)

The looks are down to preference, I think they look kind of cool but you may disagree and that's why they're not in the mod

If you search up 'starbound brain tree' you'll see some images
JC Bent'em  [autor] 4 sept. 2022 la 16:42
Oh, huh. Maybe I didn't add it because it looked bad or something?
Lemme know how it looks.
StupidBrainSmoothie 4 sept. 2022 la 15:34
I see that, but it looks like you've missed the brain foliage ?

It's still in the forest files and doesn't seem to be in your mod so I patched it in myself
JC Bent'em  [autor] 4 sept. 2022 la 14:40
Almost all that I could find in the game files, but there may be some that were removed from the game files entirely, I of course wouldn't have added those.
StupidBrainSmoothie 4 sept. 2022 la 10:54
does this restore all the removed trees from past versions or just a few of them ?

:)
Ashtar 7 aug. 2022 la 14:39
@JC Bent"em
just a reply

a BIG Yes...

\o/
Perry Winkles 7 aug. 2022 la 14:36
Random question, but is this compatible with Radiant Worlds?
JC Bent'em  [autor] 22 iun. 2022 la 7:53
This merely patches vanilla planets, so it should be compatible with most stuff.
I have played Frackin Universe with this mod installed so it works.
porkMonstrosity 21 iun. 2022 la 17:27
Is this compatible with Frakin' Universe?
Degostorm 11 apr. 2022 la 8:29
Alright, thanks for answering my question in a very short amount of time. Your help is very much appreciated.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 11 apr. 2022 la 8:26
It shouldn't effect fps at all, the game isn't really putting in extra effort.
Degostorm 11 apr. 2022 la 8:21
Probably stupid question but, does this affect the Fps?

my assumption is that, yes, this does affect Fps. However I may be wrong

Could someone please clarify this question of mine?
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 8 apr. 2022 la 13:10
And I understand about the time. Life can be very busy :)
It was not a problem :)
All the best!
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 8 apr. 2022 la 13:09
YAAAAAY!
Thanks! Yo da best!
And thank you for mentioning about the already generated worlds!
JC Bent'em  [autor] 8 apr. 2022 la 11:10
I apologize about how horribly long it took for me to get around to updating this, but the trees have been restored in the background. Keep in mind though that biomes can not be retroactively changed in already generated planets, so the changes will only apply to new ones.
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 5 apr. 2022 la 23:18
@JC Bent'em also... next time you create a mod or change this one, can you please mention if you make a change such as removing the trees in the background/parallax. It may not seem like a big deal to you, but it was the deal that in the end persuaded me not to use this mod.
The reason I'm asking is I subbed to a few mods at once with this, and wasn't sure for a while which mod was removing the trees. Thankfully you included screenshots, (which I appreciate and believe any decent modder should) so it was relatively easy to find out.
I've had a number of experiences where some random detail(s) appears in my game, and it takes ages to track down the culprit-mod because the author failed to mention it. Sometimes these details/additions were so far removed from the name/description of the mod, I wonder what the hell the author was thinking adding it in in the first place. One author thought it was a "pleasant surprise." I couldn't have disagreed more...
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 31 mart. 2022 la 13:16
can hardly wait for the patch!
I found the lack of trees in the background a bit odd, so I decided to unsub this mod.
Buuuut, if there's an option for the treeful background, I might use this again :)
Ashtar 30 mart. 2022 la 21:35
@JC Bent'em
I understand, the patch with the normal trees will be cool, thinking about it will bring more varieties, in addition to the trees of the biome and with the pine trees in the background.
JC Bent'em  [autor] 30 mart. 2022 la 20:09
I actually intentionally disabled them because I thought it was jarring for there to be trees in the background that don't match the ones on the foreground, I left the really far away ones because it's hard to tell what they are due to the low resolution.

So it's not technically a "bug", but I can see why other people find it weird.

I'll make an optional patch, but I gotta reinstall Starbound first.
Ashtar 30 mart. 2022 la 18:35
@Jc Bent'em

in some day you can fix this bug "Lush world parallax doesn't have trees in the background "?
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 9 mart. 2022 la 17:25
@Ashtar
What I'm experiencing is like what's in the very first image of the screen shots.
Would you mind sending me a screen shot of your lush worlds with this mod working?
Ashtar 9 mart. 2022 la 11:45
@Terraformer

i not have this issue, for me work fine...

maybe another mod you have ?
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 9 mart. 2022 la 4:56
This mod is rad. But I noticed the Lush world parallax doesn't have trees in the background anymore. Any way those might be brought back in?
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 4 mart. 2022 la 18:51
Cool. Cuz I always love more variety and diversity.
I'm in the process of collecting a whole bunch of mods (arcana, pandora's box, UGOR, and much more) and I'm testing them out to see what works and what conflicts.
In the end I hope to have a nice and large amount of additional mods that will supply additional content for my new character.

I'm also thinking of getting into modding, and making a large set of mods and patches with the aim of giving a seamless version of what I'm searching for right now. It's a lofty goal, and I'm gonna start small with say some microdungeons or a few new/better mechanics like shareable beds and working bunkbeds (a mod-feature one of my friends and I liked, but it was hit and miss with it working properly.)
JC Bent'em  [autor] 4 mart. 2022 la 18:26
I think it'll be compatible with basically anything, it doesn't replace any files, it patches specific parts of pre-existing files and even then people don't change vanilla biomes that much usually.

I already tested it out with frackin universe which does edit some vanilla biomes here and there, no conflicts or breakage here.
Grand Poo-Bah de Canadiannaise 4 mart. 2022 la 17:51
Any conflicts with this mod and others used with it?
Lula O Honesto 16 dec. 2021 la 9:39
Nice mod, i don't know why CF removed too many things from the game. I rly loved visit every planet with different colors of dirt
Ashtar 12 dec. 2021 la 6:36
@Sparkbag"
Ashtar 12 dec. 2021 la 6:36
Need visit planet not visited :)
Sparkbag 12 dec. 2021 la 6:33
do i have to find new planets or will itchange the ones i've already explored?
Ashtar 29 nov. 2021 la 15:43
Thank you very much 🥰
JC Bent'em  [autor] 29 nov. 2021 la 14:29
It's called xRaiizy's Better Human Face.
Ashtar 29 nov. 2021 la 5:55
what mod do you use to make your character look cute like that the screenshots?
Ashtar 24 nov. 2021 la 15:53
I'm using it together with FU and it looks fabulous.

i found pine trees :)
JC Bent'em  [autor] 24 nov. 2021 la 14:39
Pine trees have become pretty rare, but they still appear.
Unfortunately I can't adjust the chances in favor of specific trees.
Ashtar 24 nov. 2021 la 8:44
you can try to make the tree varieties use the library of all the trees of the specific biomes.

"and a patch for your mod to use mod trees too".

sorry for asking almost impossible things :D
so this is my dream lol

it would be much more diverse and make your mod even more awesome :)

sorry my english
Ashtar 24 nov. 2021 la 1:58
very good mod Ty \ o /

but the pine trees are not growing, I visited several planets and I didn't find pine trees.

but I loved the mod thank you so much again
JC Bent'em  [autor] 30 sept. 2021 la 10:56
Yes, but the planets you have visited will remain the same as you found them.
Perry Winkles 30 sept. 2021 la 9:44
Is this uninstall safe? just out of curiosity!
