Well I believe the "QBZ-95" you mentioned might be the "QBZ-97", which is original QBZ-95 that were modified to use STANAG mags and shoot 5.56 rounds, mainly for exporting.

As for the shotgun model, I'm not really sure about that, since I never really heard of it until now, quite interesting to hear though.

we had a weird version of the QBZ 95 here in Canada for the civilian market which was given a rather..."interesting" modification so that it could take STANAG type 5.56 magazines and ammunition

oh also a VERY strange conversion of a 95 into a semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun with the carry-handle being "squished" and the bolt being re-routed out the side

I think the Shotgun model is still able to be purchased but I doubt the actual rifle is anymore what with what is going on right now with our laws
