@silverleaf1 I have recovered the mod files and found that I left Bio mecs as possible reinforcement pod leaders beginning at Force level 13. So it was my mod description that was wrong.

@Crazy_eyed1 It has only happened once in a very long campaign so it is not a huge issue.

@silverleaf1 I have lost the original version of this mod so unfortunately I cannot investigate the bio mec bug.

@Crazy_eyed1 Unexpectedly using this mod I still had a bio mec appear as one of the reinforcements in an ambush mission.

@seanthepain the fake bio troopers do not spawn on ambush missions after this mod is installed and the bio vipers can only spawn as reinforcement leaders.

about how much does this reduce bios on covert escape missions? just had a campaign ruined because a bio viper and 2 fake troopers spawned on two of my best soldiers, pretty early game too definitely not equipped for that kind of pod

Good Option to have. I won't use it, but then I go all hardmode deliberately. That and I tend to just sneak past most of an ambush mission, if i even end up getting one (I tend to avoid Covert Ops with them, at least until I have Reapers on the Roster that can just ignore most of the enemies, after all the objective is getting out, not killing everything). Well, that and since I use Extract Corpses, having Bio Division to salvage is quite profitable, both in the Black Market, and for just equipping my troops with the goodies they provide via R & D

Very nice mod indeed. I thought it was strange when I had a bio general spawn on a very early ambush mission so this explains that situation. I assume it should be fine to add to an ongoing game?

The reason to use this would be to reflect the base game balance where several base game counterparts could not spawn on that mission type as intended by Firaxis.

The individual enemies that patrol on the map use their own EncounterList that excludes enemies that due to being limited to 2 soldiers could entirely screw you up in one turn like Stunlancers, Vipers, Chryssalids, Berserkers, Spectre's, etc.
