I love that you used the old 23rd Fighter Group at Pope AFB tail codes for these guys! The 74th FS "Flying Tigers" and 75th FS "Tigersharks" are epic squadrons, the 74th especially for their WWII days in the Pacific. Trivia time: the commander's aircraft of the Tigersharks, Shark 01, once flew back from a mission in Desert Storm with over 300 holes in it, up to 23mm, an SA-7 surface-to-air missile stuck in one wing, half the tail shot of, and a hole the size of a human head in the other wing.
