Thanks for this. It helps out a lot. I love the Locks 2 mod to keep caravans out of my base. Any chance of adding VFE Mechanoids? I looked at the source hoping it would be a find and replace kind of thing but, it's above my head.

I tried to make a patch to keep this on by default but every functional component is in DLL, however the source code is included in the mod, that being said I don't know how to make a patch file, outside of CDDA.

This is a cool mod but at some point the Locks 2 mod author should really add a patch for this bruh.

Echoing the request for a pen animals fix. As far as I'm concerned the locks mods are unusable so long as they don't recognize pen animals.

Yeah, the robots won't go through doors without this mod, and installing the mod won't automatically enable them to go through all doors. You need to add the rule to the ones you want them to use.

In regard to #6's comment: I had the same issue (robots would not work or move at all off base). For me the fix was adding a robots filter to the door in the access tab. I had to add this for each door they need access to. Hopefully this helps anyone experiencing the issue.

Took a while to get back to this, I tried with the Misc Craftable Robots and it's Addon mod and they don't seem to work with this patch. Once I removed Locks 2 they were up and moving again. Also I'd love a patch for the Vanilla Expanded Mechanoids mod as they also have issues with locks.

Marvin, there's a couple other pen mods that might cover your needs. Penned Animal Config or Boundary Training might do it.

Would love a more generalized patch for all WTH mechanoids as well, but I am glad to know that Locks 2 is what was causing my robots to be unable to work properly. Unfortunate but oh well.

im not entirely sure its your mod causing the conflict. Been doing some trial and error and it may be one of the vanilla expanded mods. Whats really strange is the only thing the builder bot will do at the moment is replace broken components

@ThatManHosk I tried to test this and the builder bot was able to go through doors but, in my modlist at least, the builder bot was buggy as hell. It wouldn't build anything until materials had been hauled already (tested with a hauler bot) and quality builder was disabled. It still refused to build walls, only build some beds that I placed. Pretty sure my mod worked at least!

@ThatManHosk I tried a cooking bot from misc++ and it worked, I'll check that specific one and see if it has different behavior. It also depends on where it was needing to path to, did you allow the robot through all doors it would need to access both the materials and what it needed to build?

Correction; confirmed have Misc Robots and Misc Robots++, do not have craftable robots. Disabled Locks2 and your patch, and the builder went back to normal.

im not 100% sure if its related, but i have 3 bots. Craft, haul & build. only the builder bot seems to be "broke" as its only standing. the other 2 go about doing their thing.
Im sure im running misc, misc++, and possibly the crafting one too

@Sixdd I've not tested it with that mod, if they use the same kind def names then yes. Can you check and let me know? If not I'll see if I can look at adding that compatibility too.

Would this work with Misc Craftable Robots and its addon as well? They are both addons to Misc Robots.

Yeah, that was my original thought and why I hadn't already done it. People should be able to choose their own defaults, if the mod settings worked.

In a way you should not have to make a default rule on your side. The Locks 2 mod provide a default setting modification, the problem is the settings option is broken (blank)...

In the meantime you can copy and paste door settings, so if you update one door, copy the settings and then select all doors (even easier if you're using allow tool) and paste then everything will be updated.

thanks you for this! But I'm with jonilgz, an option to activate the green tick for robots by default would be a life savior addition for base with a lot of doors.

@jonilgz unfortunately the code hardcodes the defaults, I might be able to inject something with harmony. I'll take a look later on. The original mod is meant to have settings to set the defaults but that doesn't work for me...
