The hell why so many people playing this game without Industries.

Anyways not only did this network crash my game it also shot up my school.

a prop alone doesnt crash a game. how did you determine it was that specific prop ?
MeteredPotatoCorp 24 mei 2022 om 19:15
R69 Tunnel Darkener, which is required by this, crashes my game. Just thought I'd let you know.

I just realized that the network requires Industries. Can't believe it.
REV0  [auteur] 24 jan 2022 om 10:58
i'll check it myself with lkight issue
Just_Flamez 24 jan 2022 om 10:57
I've just tried that but it still breaks, no matter if it's upgraded or dragged.
REV0  [auteur] 24 jan 2022 om 10:13
could be related to the fact that NS2 requires a 'redragging' of the network to be wired or wireless. So I would pick the wireless option FIRST, then drag the network, instead updating the road.

Using Network Skins 2 to disable the wires breaks the slope part of the tunnel for me.
I've also tried using Cantenary Replacer but it doesn't seem to do anything at all.

No offence intended to you for not adding Industries to the "required DLC" section or anything. I completely understand why you'd think missing a DLC prop would be the same as missing a Workshop prop.
Unfortunately, C:S probably just sees a prop from Industries in the code for the network and axes the whole thing, instead of just not loading the prop.
Could be for quality assurance, making it harder for DLC features to leak to people who don't have it, they couldn't be bothered to have it work like the Workshop, or any number of reasons.

But regardless of the reason, I (and many other people, I'm sure) are extremely grateful to you, not only making the network in the first place, but for going the extra distance to fix such a minor issue months after its release (something which wouldn't even be an issue to anyone who has the DLC in the first place).
Keep up the great work!

That might explain the problem. I did mention the requirement of Industries DLC, but I assumed not having the DLC might simply make the network lightness, not actually block it from use. I downloaded a light prop pack from workshop see if i can replace lights with it, that way you wont need the DLC post-update.

I'll post here when i update the network
MindeKing 8 jan 2022 om 15:19
For those wondering why this network isn't showing up in-game, the likely culprit I've found is that it apparently requires the Industries DLC, even though that isn't explicitly stated on the Workshop page, kinda just being hidden in the "Features" section.
If you don't have the Industries DLC, it won't show up in-game, but it will in the content manager.
Hopefully there might be some workaround to be found so the DLC isn't required in the future. (Maybe releasing a non-Industries-specific version that uses a light from the Workshop?, or just a version without any light?)
REV0  [auteur] 8 jan 2022 om 7:30
Maybe it's disabled in the content manager for whatever reason. Look in content manager and make sure it's enabled.
pingucanada 8 jan 2022 om 5:05
Well I did subscribe to it, but why didn't it show up in my assets list?
REV0  [auteur] 5 jan 2022 om 2:48
You didnt subscribe probably, or let Steam download it
pingucanada 4 jan 2022 om 21:28
Why doesn't it appear for me?
REV0  [auteur] 12 nov 2021 om 14:28
unlike the real one, no
851O1 12 nov 2021 om 13:47
Does it leak if I build it underwater?
REV0  [auteur] 10 nov 2021 om 16:32
the difference between EURO and US wire is not 'X times the height' so halving the scale wont fix the wire or make it usable. The correct course of action would be remaking wires with european wire height. The height of this type of wire is given in original Railway collection, by ronyx, under the section of "railway for creators". You can take the height data for euro wire from there and make your custom wiring.

you said "No, as Railway 2 USA branch has 1:1 scaled NEC/PRR wire standard. Custom Euro networks feature and option to convert to USA wire" now if I changed the setting to like 1:0 would the high of the wires come down much?
REV0  [auteur] 10 nov 2021 om 15:34
I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you mean, that can you load the network in editor, make a custom wire network and replace the wire i made ? Sure. You'll have to replace the props and packs used as they are custom for this network. As long as you keep your alteration local and not published on Steam Workshop, I see no issues with it

Cheers

As far as the scale of 1:1 goes, if one where able to lower it, would 1:0 do it?
REV0  [auteur] 10 nov 2021 om 9:59
You wouldn't as portal wires are custom made for this specific network and I did not make other variants with lower wires.
dgrad598 10 nov 2021 om 9:58
would i be able to change this in asset editor?
REV0  [auteur] 10 nov 2021 om 9:49
No, as Railway 2 USA branch has 1:1 scaled NEC/PRR wire standard. Custom Euro networks feature and option to convert to USA wire
dgrad598 10 nov 2021 om 8:48
Any way to lower the over head wires so they are closer to the train?

I came here to say similar to @Ginseng... I practically grew up in this tunnel as a kid, as well as with the MTA, so Penn Station and its associated networks made me fall in love with transit. Always cool to see this pop up in a game.

@Stormy Kara I was gonna comment on the same thing! Great video, and great asset :steamhappy:
Vannen 6 nov 2021 om 21:27
Used to take this tunnel to get to my mom's office in Manhattan as a kid when she'd bring me and my brother to work with her. Looks absolutely amazing, keep up the great work on the new collection <3
Stormy Kara 6 nov 2021 om 18:04
Just watched The B1M's video on how the tunnel needs to be rebuilt and renovated, and then I see this! Nice work on this and the whole series
