Hi there. I'm pretty sure engine damage could cause this and was supposed to be switched off. The same with the custom WIP damage model. The only thing I can suggest is to switch "show scripts errors" off, if it helps. I don't develop and maintain A3 addons anymore. You get the addon "as-is". Really sorry, bud.
Komodo 7 May @ 1:57pm
hi night,
bunch of error sqf messages pop up when the plane gets damaged like in the tail or hull
Pet Mudstone 13 Apr @ 11:21am
Thanks for the clarification, NightIntruder!
@Bouncy The "A-1H Skyrider" (sic) is found in NATO > Planes in the Eden editor.
Bouncy 13 Apr @ 10:39am
Where do I find the Skyraider? Im just asking one more time so I can start flying it
NightIntruder  [author] 12 Apr @ 4:36pm
@Pet Mudstone
Actual Mk.20 bombsight was in fact a gunsight that was used for bombing as well, which the mod has. The ranging might just not work as I didn't attempt to make the sight's rings correct in this regard. More here: https://www.prc68.com/I/Mk20Mod4Gun-BombSight.shtml
Pet Mudstone 12 Apr @ 4:16pm
The Mk. 20 bombsight is mentioned in the ReadMe, but I don't seem to be able to switch to it using Ctrl + Right Click. Am I attempting to access it the wrong way?
snakeshit 4 Apr @ 2:43am
oh no our arrow it's broken :Barrage:
Artyom Kinzouya 16 Mar @ 1:16pm
An alternative version with a camera and laser operated by a pilot would be a wonderful plane.
Fishy 4 Dec, 2024 @ 1:55pm
I love the skyraider but it doesn't fly great :/
Bouncy 21 Nov, 2024 @ 4:20pm
Where do I find it?
NightIntruder  [author] 14 Jun, 2024 @ 9:30am
@Lukin - yes, you've got my permission to do what you described. Good luck, mate.

@[EC]HAWK - who is "we" you referred to in your request?
Lukin 13 Jun, 2024 @ 2:50am
Nothing would be repacked or retextured.
Lukin 13 Jun, 2024 @ 2:50am
NightIntruder, can I have this mod as a dependancy for Asian Flashpoint - France? The mod would be a dependancy, I will your France livery and would just make a custom class for a faction with a custom pilot.
[EC] HAWK 12 May, 2024 @ 5:19pm
Are you gonna finish it sometime? Or we sholdn't wait (we using it on liberation already but few things are need to correct - like this taxi behaviour of wheels and geometry) and weapon loadout (RHS and UASF weapons is possbile to use but not all fit correctly :) - so we thinking about make some improovemnts ourselfs if it will not be continued anymore what you think?.
NightIntruder  [author] 1 May, 2024 @ 11:03am
It is not, indeed. Another thing was, it's kinda light model poly-wise so it isn't the highest priority.
[EC] HAWK 1 May, 2024 @ 10:35am
Why only 1 LOD of details? it is not finished yet?
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 5 Apr, 2024 @ 8:19am
To be fair I would absolutely love to see a toilet bomb added as an Easter Egg thing because there is actual documented evidence of that happening once, I know its not a "Historic Loadout" but still would love to see it as a funny little reference to the actual story.
NightIntruder  [author] 5 Apr, 2024 @ 7:32am
In a restroom. If you've never used one, a comfy thing I can tell you that.
El Birdbrian 3 Apr, 2024 @ 3:15am
where toilet
VastGM 10 Feb, 2024 @ 1:39pm
This is a good mod so don't give up on it.
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 30 Jan, 2024 @ 12:34pm
Very understandable, I really look forward to the updates you pass along!
NightIntruder  [author] 26 Jan, 2024 @ 3:06am
Yes, PhysX config is WIP. Yes, I am commited to making some improvements. No, both realism and immersion are actually my primary concerns. Thus, since pylons have their own historically correct payload limits it's gonna stay as is. SOGPF weapons work with the addon, just pre-configured weapon sets don't. One can manually set loadout in 3DEN, or use mods that handle re-ammo in-game.
It's important to make one particular thing clear - the addon wasn't made for casual pilots and it needs mastering and analog controllers, it needs people's time sunk into a practicing how to efficiently and safely fly this plane in the game. This was consious and well-though design choice, the downside of it was it created high entry treshold and made the addon less popular.
Last thing - I am very aware that people interest and suggestions are comming from their love to the plane (and/or the addon). I do love it too, I just have feelings sometimes we love it for very different reasons ;)
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 25 Jan, 2024 @ 2:32pm
I'm glad we are both on the same page, I wasn't directly intending the dig at you in particular, just at the practice in general, but I suppose I understand both sides. 2 things I would like to ask about though if you are still going to be updating this, could you possibly look into the plane's flight model while on the ground? it seems to slide around uncontrollably a lot of the time, that and the gear are very, very brittle.
That, and the other thing I'd like you to see about possibly doing is further support for the SOG DLC's weapons on the pylons and maybe if not that some bigger options for bombs on the pylons, especially if realism isn't a primary concern I think that could be really fun.
NightIntruder  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 9:52am
The practices come as a consequence of something. I play BI's games since OFP times and never saw that until 2018 or smth. I don't argue with you, just wanted to clarify my postiion on EULA in hope that it will finally cut further discussions about what I should or shouldn't do. I listen to people, I really do but it does not mean I automatically will take all sugesstions. I am old fella who tinkers with his hobby and does it slowly because cannot rely on other's helping hands and many times he gets dragged away from one particular addon towards other ones by motivation, problems or interests. The last sentance is actually the true sum up of the issue.
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 20 Jan, 2024 @ 1:36pm
I don't think I was trying to imply that you owed anyone anything, I was just voicing my frustrations at the practices in the ArmA modding community, regardless of the reasoning behind it, I disagree with the premise, and with how BI has handled community content.
NightIntruder  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 4:49pm
So, when it comes to this addon, i'ts my own (although collective one, in fact) interpretation, an artistic representation of how the plane should work, fly, looks like and sound. I ain't wanna change things I don't believe in. Due to lack of trust, I won't share the files. Due to lack of belief in arma devs, I won't allow for derivative works. And also to remind you, I am not your employee. You can use the addon or not, this are the real options you have.
NightIntruder  [author] 19 Jan, 2024 @ 4:49pm
I've been modding for over 13 years now. CDLC that were brought to arma modding scene brought the fear of being used among freeware devs as well. Devs also started quiting the scene. The both things happend to myself at least twice. Those who work for BI will never tell you that due to NDA. That created lack of trust in the modding scene. Previously, I was hapy to share my work. Not anymore, and that's indeed common, you are right.
Many times, people were offerring help, expanding my work or retexturing it. Those promises never came true with the exception of one dev only, and two testers. I have no trust and belief in arma community, especially modding part for some time now. The childish and demanding attitude among players disappoint me. I started feeling like players belived they can have everything if they'll scream on devs loud enough.
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 18 Jan, 2024 @ 7:52pm
Author, scroll down in the comments, there are people who are actively wanting to put in the work, and build on what you made, but like most of the modding community in ArmA nowadays, no one wants to allow others to work on their mods because they don't want to "Lose control" over their work. Modding for the most part, used to be like a public puzzle, everyone kinda built on everyone elses stuff. None of these criticisms are specifically directed at you by the way, as you've pointed out before this is all too common in the modding community, but they do apply to you and specifically how you've gone about handling the people wanting to do retextures, or fix flight models.
NightIntruder  [author] 14 Jan, 2024 @ 5:08pm
@Jones If you mean I should work on bugs I listed in the readme - yes, I plan to fix those. I just took a long break from A3, but the project isn't abandoned.
Btw, which members of the modding community with that missing know-how you have in mind?
Chip "War Crimes" Jones 14 Jan, 2024 @ 10:36am
Kinda saddens me to see that this plane I love will never be fully realized in Arma 3. Author, I hope you realize soon that your policy that no one can even try to tidy up your mod a bit is actively killing it, especially sense you don't seem to want to dedicate the time to just sitting down and developing the mod full time, which is perfectly understandable, but you should allow the members of the community with the know-how to improve the mod, especially if they provide credit. That's how modding is supposed to be, not bogged down with corporate EULA crap.If not, I hope you sit down and actually fix this plane and polish it up, but if you aren't going to dedicate the time, stop being so damn stubborn and let the community build on what you have here.
NightIntruder  [author] 22 Dec, 2023 @ 12:17pm
You see VastGameMaster.... I am so glad that I haven't released all my shitty addons, just a few of them. I'd have to deal with such people in dozens of similar threads. I ain't feeling entitled to do so nor do I feel an urge too. Instead, I am just sitting here, happy I was such a guy who foresighted what may happen. Thank you (among others) for proving I was right :)
The true is, those people want to work for themsevles, not for me as I don't need that. And yes, I am ignorant in many fields, no EULA can change that. I'll have to deal with it as every mature person does. Bye.
VastGM 22 Dec, 2023 @ 3:03am
@ NightIntruder You can screw yourself with that entitlement you have. Some people want to do the work for you and make your mod look better than the smeared shit you are using for textures, the EULA isn't going to protect you from your ignorance.
N3TR1 25 Nov, 2023 @ 3:46pm
Can you made a mod of A4C Skyhawk ?
春日野穹 26 Oct, 2023 @ 8:12pm
How to use laser guidance??
Eagle Screech 25 Oct, 2023 @ 10:38pm
How does this model compare to the one from Unsung?
Rockin92 25 Oct, 2023 @ 1:38am
I think it needs improvement.
With autopilot, you won't be able to land smoothly and will crash near the runway. Another chronic problem is that using this mode causes frequent bugs every time you run the game.
Ace 25 Aug, 2023 @ 6:53pm
I know what the EULA is. I didn't speak to the contrary. And I also know full well that overly restrictive protections like this are unfortunately the norm in ArmA for some insane reason. It's not the case in other modding communities, though, and preventing people from even making their own skins is not something that's really that commonplace even in ArmA. But I digress. I'm not a lawyer or Steam moderator so I don't actually know how valid your claim is that reskins are a violation of the license. I have no place to say or to debate it.

My point isn't to argue with you. I wanted to know why, and I had my question answered.

You did open up the license on previous occasions, and you were, as you said, very disappointed. You don't have to explain more. I understand, and I'm sorry you had to see your creations twisted in such a way. I wish this weren't the case, but at least now I understand why.
NightIntruder  [author] 25 Aug, 2023 @ 4:31pm
Yes, no-derivative work means no user-created skins as well. I thought it's obvious? The policy is not so rare among arma modding community as you may think. In contrary, it is the most common legal protection creators use here (fun fact: if there's no EULA attached to an uploaded material, the most restrictive one is applied by default). Secondly, I see no personal benefits in untightning the control over my addons. I did it twice and later I was very disappointed by the outcome of it. No changes in EULA.
Ace 25 Aug, 2023 @ 11:42am
If I may politely ask, what is the reason for Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives? You said in a prior comment that not even reskins are allowed. That seems awfully restrictive, even for ArmA modders.

Is it something to do with the model's original license?
TexanJet 26 Jan, 2023 @ 12:40pm
Question, does this have the famed toilet bomb?
Michal_CZ 21 Jan, 2023 @ 12:06pm
This must be added as official part of DLC.
NightIntruder  [author] 31 Dec, 2022 @ 12:50am
@Noo Noo
Use it gently, then. It goes well with some practice and/or analog controllers.
No, I won't change the rudder behaviour. The addon wasn't built for casual pilots and its rudder's profile was made purposfully. You may learn more in one of the discussion topic here.
BBChook 29 Dec, 2022 @ 2:56pm
Rudder is waaaaaaayyyy to sensitive to take off with :/
NightIntruder  [author] 6 Dec, 2022 @ 2:21pm
@Veltros
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like it despite bugs and unfinished features that are still in it.
Valtros 6 Dec, 2022 @ 12:26pm
My word this is amazing. I was ready to accept a few issues for a functional armed prop plane, but this is truly an amazing piece. I loved the a-29 Super Tucano but didn't really want to deal with RHS and its heavy load of unwanted features and content. This is the standalone plane Arma3 has needed, especially now with SOG Prairie fire, which this mod works so nicely alone side of.

Thank you so much for this awesome mod!
Joey Jeepy 19 Nov, 2022 @ 6:11pm
@Nightintruder I've fixed it, Thank you! Can't wait for the next project you'll take on! Best Wishes!
NightIntruder  [author] 17 Nov, 2022 @ 2:11am
@Joe
I just checked the ejection from the plane in both, vanilla game and scenario cramped with different addons. It works in SP and local-server hosted game every time. I cannot check it on dedicated server for you, tho.
Joey Jeepy 16 Nov, 2022 @ 5:48pm
@Nightintruder I've still got my ejection conttrol set to V x2, But it doesnt cause anything to happen for me.
NightIntruder  [author] 16 Nov, 2022 @ 2:24am
@Joe's Jeep wrangler
There's no such thing like "automatic ejection" IRL, that's why it has been removed from this plane. Check if you have assigned a key press to eject manually in Options. It works for me:

Joey Jeepy 15 Nov, 2022 @ 8:29pm
Fantastic plane, but how do I bail out of it? It never automatically ejects me and there's no option to do it manually. Love this plane, excited to see what's next!
