The broadside guns are definitely underwhelming, but at 200k its in the same cost bracket as small cruisers and big DDs. I typically use the broadside against small enemies or enemies with strong LAMS, and the siege guns for the rest. If you want it to use the forward facing CRAMs you need to change the AI behavior in the C menu. That'll change it from circling to frontsiding.

I'm surprised you had trouble with the durability of it. In my experience it usually stays far enough away that it doesn't draw much fire if its in a fleet, and it has CIWS to protect it from CRAMs and missiles and it kinda flies erratically so even cannons usually miss. I bet lasers would tear it apart, but that's never a match I've tested. Most of the airships aren't designed for that, just HMAS Vengeance.

I love all of your work, but this specific ship feels a bit expensive for it's effectiveness. The look of it thrills me, but the broadside just sort of plinks off of heavily armored targets, and I've never managed to get the thing to fire it's forward facing guns in combat. I've had to drag the dead blueprint back for repair more often than I do my pair of Orbiters that just refuse to die. I tell myself that I'll replace the Orbiters with something like an Independence once they break, and then throw them into a suicide mission. They always win. The've taken on everything from laser equipped cruisers, and missile equipped jets and just putter away like this is Tuesday for them. Still though, I can't bring myself to scrap the good 'ol Armageddon. She sits proud above my home base now, ready to go out with the first wave if something should ever threaten my home waters. The Orbiters handle the assault work now, ha ha.

Does it say HMLS somewhere or do you think it should be? It was originally classified as a line ship, but I changed it to an assault designation because it was more specialist. It could go either way, really, but because of the fixed main armament and the inability to fight equally on the broadsides, I called it an assault ship.

You names this post the HMAS Armageddon, not HMLS Armageddon
