@swatblack: I wanted to call out specifically that you and anyone/everyone else explicitly have my blessings for any fork of the mod or for anything else you want to do with the code in the mod. I never got around to setting up a github for the mods, but I do include the source with the mod drop; please feel free to use or reuse anything from my mods, no permission necessary.

Hey all! I've been gone for a long, long time due to my computer kind of exploding. I've finally got a replacement machine, but I'm gonna be honest: I'm probably not going to be playing Rimworld let alone modding it for a while. I'm not sure when I'd get around to looking at updating this mod or other mods in my library; it's just not something I'm able to prioritize in terms of time nor headspace nowadays.

kark a mod thats still being updated or authers MIA atm. was one of the most unique mods i had a luxery of using back in 1.4 this may still work in base 1.5 no anom but no promisses.

Great to know. I don't really mind the "slow" part as long as you are doing it to be honest. My so called "main" character has always, and I mean really ALWAYS had corpse children backstory so just wanted to know if I'm going to be doing that for 1.5 too lol. And I really really think anormally dlc is going to go so well with this mod(concept play wise). Thank you for taking your time to answer. Now I will just quietly wait for this to go 1.5 ;)

I do aim to. It might be a bit slow: I haven't been playing Rimworld recently, and I haven't felt like modding things for a while. I'm also expecting there's going to be some significant changes to account for in 1.5.

@kayesh there are two small errors with the RimTraits - General Traits patch.
- Impatient cook cannot be found
- there is > to much by RT_PatientCook

Also for everyone wanting to steal genes, I also found a very easy and lazy solution. The Big and Small Genes mod has gene to steal genes. Its called Incoperate. Slab it onto the CorspeChild and voila genestealing Corspe Children.

@Nox: hmm, I think I remember back in 1.3 I left the adult backstories blank. I had to mess with the pawn generation order when doing the 1.4 update, so things probably got messed up there. At some point I'd be able to update that, but it's likely to be a bit since I'm not doing a lot of active modding at the moment.

@suppressor666: I do want to add gene stealing at some point, but same deal: it's not going to be for a while. Full disclosure: it's been on my radar since biotech came out, but I have not devoted the time yet to add it.

Also the backstories provided by new corpse children aren't giving the bonuses, only the work restrictions.

I haven't seen this mentioned but is it your intent that the adult backstories get randomized when a pawn is raised? If you're intentionally doing that I can see setting it to tribe member or something neutral but it doesn't make sense to me for the pawn to have some intricate unrelated backstory.

Also, great mod. One of my top 10 (of hundreds)

@D̴̜̓e̷̻͝m̵̲͌o̸̱̎n̶ and @Get Donked On: you're right! There were three Roman names/defs in the referenced mod that were changed to their Greek namesakes. F'rinstance, Mercury became Hermes. This mod was still looking for Mercury. I've pushed an update to address things.

@Kayesh: it is pretty epic. I use your whole mod pack.

My undead corpse children don't need passions since eating brains is the only way for them gain skills thanks to being undead.

This is my first time not doing a medieval run with RoM and I just unlocked heavy smgs.

I only have one other living corpse child atm. The first one I made didn't survive a social fight with my main pawn but left a corpse I could use to create another. I like how he has a scar with the first corpse child's name.

Plus it has been awhile since I played RoM and there is now a chance for specialized undead. One started out with shooting. Wish they could hunt but I don't have many mouths to feed so it's not the end of the world.

I think I rambled on enough about how much fun I'm having.

While I most likely play a run without RoM installed I don't think I'll ever play without corpse children now.

@Ghevd: you're welcome! I actually haven't played a RoM + Corpse Children playthrough myself, but I do like the idea of Corpse Children acting as ghouls or flesh golems to help fill in the ranks of a necromantic faction.

Thank you for this mod! It makes my Rimworld of Magic Nevromancer feel more neceomancy.

I actually found the add on first oddly enough.

Fired up a new colony and one of my starting corpses had a bio encoded pistol right near her. Score!

Well it would have been if I used raise dead. Didn't know creating a corpse child made a whole new entity. Thought it was a bug but one of your previous comments cleared up that misconception.

That's fine though as I have raise dead for that and making a corpse child instead of an undead is just a neat added necromancer skill.

Well, time do build my army of decay.

@CTH2004: I'm not doing a lot of modding at the moment, so no plans right now. Agreed that Biotech is a perfect place for it. The patch to add such a gene would also need to ensure that newly created Corpse Children would also get the gene... so yeah, definitely doable but not completely trivial so it's not something I'd be sneaking in on my hiatus.

@拳鸡高手泰深: that's right. You'd need to start with a corpse child, recruit a corpse child, or cheat and give someone the corpse child trait via dev mode.

Does it mean that the corpse children can only be created by a existing corpse children? I cannot figure it out how to create the first corpse children in the game though.

@Nicathaniel: corpse children in this mod are alive. They were created from death, their donor corpse taken apart and crudely put back together like a broken down machine, but the end product eats, breathes, and more relevantly can freeze.

Would love me some undead horde. Quick question though. Are my undead supposed to get the chills in a temperate climate already? I was testing them in a forrest, but I really would like them to go all icewalker and base in the far north.
