Actually that's to do with IK rigs and there's not much you can really do about that.

Recently I wanted to "fix" combine administrators playermodels, because they had some weird landing animations, but couldn't just simply recompile with new things.

Stalker only had like 25% of the bones that valve bipeds do, so I imported Kleiners skeleton. All of the old weights still worked and I compiled.

How does one convert a model? Just rename bones and compile with right headers?
