Does not work in b42.8.1. I have a paperclip, I have an option to "unlock door" but when I click it nothing happens.

nevermind, I forgot one has to go over load -> more -> mods to activate it for an existing savegame. works just fine- good job, this stuff should be vanila

I don't get it, I have paperclips in my main inventory, but when I right click on a door there is no option to lockpick. Thing is I can't see the type of door since its pointing north east and is therefore blackend out. Sounds like a metal door though. Would that be unpickable?

How can i lockpick a door?
MobileSuitCleb 9 Jan @ 11:37am
Am I able to use multitools with this?

@tinytea Thanks for the kind words! Updating "Occupations Expertises & Balance" to b42 is another beast of a task to tackle but it's on its way too :)

oooo, thanks for porting this mod to B42 Onkeen. Now, we patiently wait for the port of the greatest Trait mod to B42: "Occupations Expertises & Balance", which also has the paperclip lockpicking for the Burglar occupation. Unfortunately some might decide to no longer use this mod after the Occupations mod is ported because the burglar class there already allows for lockpicking. OR we might KEEP using this mod since it allows non-burglar professions to lockpick too. Either way, Onkeen, papybat, and dendenmushi are killing it :DoubleExclamation: :cta_emo2:

NICE

Updated for b42! It just works like in b41, no changes. When I have time to spare on mod updates, I tend to work on Occupations Expertises which includes part of this mod and still needs conversion to b42. If stuff happen there to the burglar par, I'll update here accordingly!

when will the car hacking update be released?
ThreeTacks 26 Nov, 2023 @ 5:25am
this is genuinely so useful. ditched the complex lockpicking mods, this is a thousand times better.
Brezonte 28 Oct, 2023 @ 7:03am
It would be great to be able to open the interior doors as well, not just the exterior ones.
sussyslurp 26 Oct, 2023 @ 8:57am
blackwater is it not working or only working 30% of the time?
BlackWater821 14 Dec, 2022 @ 1:40am
hello, nice mods and thanks for ur hard work dude. It is simple and useful.
however i have some question during testing in MP (41.78), security doors and jail doors seems can't be lockpick. is this intended or the mod bug out?
sammyfourtwenty 9 Oct, 2022 @ 9:25am
it works fine on 41.73
prrratt 30 Sep, 2022 @ 10:42am

Katenn 15 Aug, 2022 @ 12:36pm
@Onkenn At first, you'r mod is absolutly awesome ! Finish the sledgehammer and welcome to ninja open garage ! :)
I just have a question about paperclip, do you know, if there's a way to change the weight of paperclip ? With mod option ? Or maybe it's a pain to do it ? Thank's for reading me :)
Hyokkin 3 Jul, 2022 @ 2:44pm
When will we be able to lockpick car ?
patrickpeppers 5 Jun, 2022 @ 6:48pm
@Amroth Eldarion I think he may be talking about 'Slim Jim Lockout Tool'.
Amroth 5 Jun, 2022 @ 11:20am
@easYplaY which one? I looked around and can't find it.
sammyfourtwenty 28 May, 2022 @ 6:17pm
no only doors but there is a great lockpick mod only for cars
yai200439 25 May, 2022 @ 7:51pm
Can you lockpick cars?
sammyfourtwenty 21 May, 2022 @ 6:43am
@marco u need to have the trait -3 or u have to be a burglar there is no skill magazine, its the best lockpick mod in my opinion
Brezonte 10 May, 2022 @ 11:37am
I can't find the magazine to learn the skill, I already went through 4 bookstores :S Any advice?
Yeehaw Dixiedoodle #BBQ 7 May, 2022 @ 9:13pm
I've got this installed, but how do I actually pick the lock?
Lady Dimitrescu 11 Mar, 2022 @ 10:10am
I can't thank you enough, the mods available imo wanted to add too much stuff that in fact we don't really need it
AdorableSparrow 7 Mar, 2022 @ 1:50am
do u need a new game for this?

Good Works

@Onkeen That's great to know. Thank you for the reply! Loving the mod so far!
Onkeen  [author] 16 Feb, 2022 @ 3:36am
@WoodleDoodle From a technical standpoint it should work side by side just fine, you'll just have two contextual options to "lockpick" and use the one you prefer!
Duck Buttock Goes Kwek Kwek 15 Feb, 2022 @ 11:44pm
Can this mod work in tandem with Better Lockpicking? I know it was made precisely to avoid the minigames and stuff, but I find the Check for Alarms feature of better lockpicking to be really useful. I wonder if I can keep both mods active, this one and better lockpicking, so I can use the check for alarms feature there while the lock picking feature here.
Dave 19 Jan, 2022 @ 12:18pm
when will you implement picking car doors?
Johnny2s 15 Jan, 2022 @ 4:25pm
@Onkeen Thanks for the reply!
Vaeringjar 13 Jan, 2022 @ 3:33pm
can it be edited to not be limited by profession or traits?
Onkeen  [author] 13 Jan, 2022 @ 7:05am
@Johnny2s Yes it does!
Johnny2s 11 Jan, 2022 @ 2:29pm
Does this work with a current save?
StefSanjati 10 Jan, 2022 @ 9:44pm
This is an excellent idea, thank you for making this! I've always been frustrated that I couldn't do this in the base game. Definitely gonna give this a try :)
Agitatio 9 Jan, 2022 @ 11:26pm
Would it be possible to increase lockpicking difficulty in winter? Or just during low temperatures in general?
kotamine 8 Jan, 2022 @ 5:54am
a magazine or skill requirement would be fine, a trait is just such an awful way of going about it
Onkeen  [author] 8 Jan, 2022 @ 5:35am
Since I published it in January the 5th after playing latest build MP with firends, yes of course it does!
foldedchairs 7 Jan, 2022 @ 7:24am
Does this work for the build 41 mp?
Deon ☣ 6 Jan, 2022 @ 12:41am
If anything, mechanics would make more sense than sneaking :D. Sneaking is moving unseen.
But I second the request for a journal if you have time, and thank you!
kotamine 5 Jan, 2022 @ 1:57pm
why is it locked behind a -3 trait? wouldn't it be better to lock it behind sneaking or lightfooted?
HUBATE 5 Jan, 2022 @ 9:02am
Pleaseeee add some magazine so the other professions can learn this if happens to find said magazine
