I always wanted to reskin and create my own units but im not sure if il be able to follow the steps
Add in unit_description_historical_texts like any other table, make a new line for your unit. You can use your unit's name, "placeholder" or whatever. In your unit's land_units table "historical text (previously had no name/variable 11) must refer to an entry in unit_description_historical_texts.
That simple change fixed my 180+ unit mod. Cheers.
I followed the instructions carefully and, while the game is working perfectly, I cannot seem to find my units in custom battles. I've checked through the DB and walkthrough to no avail. No typos, no missing data, nothing. Has something changed in the last patch that makes this template unusable?
That being said, I have not played since august 2018...i see we are in a new patch now. Has the DB format changed? Thanks again for everything!
I have modded TW games since the first Medieval or Rome, I can't remember anymore...
But for some reason, I always break something when I try and create my own template like this one for modding... I always end up taking a mod and modding it further.
Thanks to this, I can hope to make something of my own :) well... Almost ;)
I came here because I saw your guide on how to make units! I've been trying to start of slow by making something I saw somewhere. I know this isn't really the place to ask for advice/help with something, but if you could give me some insight, it'd be greatly appreciated. I looked everywhere for the answer, but I couldn't find it. I was wondering if, when an armor was selected for a unit, it'd be possible to change that armor's color. I ask this because I'm trying to get a piece of armor that's bronze color by default to look more greyed, maybe iron. I'm not sure if this is possible, but in one mod I've seen, it looks like someone took a Hastati chest piece and greyed it down quite a bit for a Legionary Veteren mod. Again, I know this isn't really the place to ask, but if you'd be able to help me out with this thing, It'd be greatly appreciate.
Thank you so much in advanced!
