Report a translation problem
thanks for your help ghoul, i really appriciate it.
So yeah that mod would not pass the consistency check anymore (arg).
I can offer a solution: I will add back the korian translation but if you select that one it will auto open the workshop page with your translation mod.
Would you please give me for that your workshopmod link ?
if the korean removed on the setting list, (you said it can be back from mod.)
can ppl using mod that we made connect to vanilla server?
First of all, i never had any plans to remove the string file or end the support of any language at the official translate page ( http://translate.unknownworlds.com/ )
If you like i could also get you set to a admin there for the korean language so you don't have to mod the language txt anymore.
All we plan to do is to remove korean from the settings list, which you can mod in pretty easily again (if you need help on that i will help you).
Because having something in the vanilla build that doesn't work is not something we want.
The thing with ns2 and any non latin language is that the used font AgencyFB was not designed for any non base latin chars.
Believe me i'm also not happy with that and would love to support all UTF8 chars.
I even made futher steps and hacked the AgencyFB font to add the cyrilic char set to add official support for the russian translation.
We could do even futher steps to get the korean char set also into the official fonts but that would mean alot of work for you as you would need to expand the font we use with every single char.
BTW: 267 will add about at least 400 new locale strings which allow you to translate the complete main menu and basically every string shown ingame.
So we really try to expand the language support of ns2.
he's working on korean translation and it's almost done. (actually it works.)
because of his mod using koKR.txt. if you delete it, it's no way to show korean anymore.
so even tough it looks like useless on your side, please do not delete kr locale file. thanks.
That's why it got removed.
Any reasson why it should not be removed even as it has no usage?
for example : if you set 1024x768 or lower >> Tab score board no longer can see Ping because text Font still is for wide-screen
That's why this mod was public in the first place. I never intended that it would become so popular or be used by anyone else than me and some other ns2 modders.
