I know it's been a while, since you last have been here, but I got an addon that can fix that problem.

You can promote other players to be Owner, Admin, Player and Guest. That way you can change their limitations and what tools and weapons they should have on spawn.
(Also to all others, who got the same problem in this and sandbox gamemode)

Never seen the gamemode myself, but I think it's been compared to it.

If you derive this gamemode from sandbox, just add a few options and lines of code to give admins access to normal sandbox features if option checkbox is checked and normal players don't.

Download VJ Base, you can ban weapons, god mode, and other various nonsense.

I'll have to mess around with something because I've not ever messed with sandbox's gamemode.

@Z61 Would you know how to do something like that though? If so could you tell me?

I might mess around with that at some point, but probably won't be around any time soon.

@Z61 My problems with sandbox mode are the following:

1. When players die, they spawn with the physgun and tool guns etc.

2. All the players playing my stories can access all the menus, and my friends being the douches that they are, they spawn in their own weapons and end up just messing around.

All i am wondering is if there was a way to impliment a system into either your gamemode OR a seperate gamemode which allowed for spawning with certain weapons (Crowbar, Flashlight, just like you have setup) and disabling the sandbox menu for everyone EXCEPT the server admin, that would be awesome.

I have no experience with gamemode creation so i was wondering if you could either tell me how to customise your gamemode to add the sandbox menus into it OR create my own gamemode which does basically what your one does but with what i need, that would be great.

It sounds like you just want sandbox to be honest.

@Z61 Basically, i take maps that don't have stories, and add one into it. That means adding extra props into the map and making fading doors, keypad locks etc. for challenges and puzzles. I would then add zombies or whatever into them and place weapons and health around the map. My friend then records them for his YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/Headbanginzombie) .

So i was wondering how hard it would be to add an option for admins to be able to access all the GMOD tools, props and spawnlists to add extra stuff into the map.

P.S: My friends like to spawn in their own things and mess around while i set things up before they start recording, if i was able to make / play my maps on this gamemode, by using all the normal sandbox tools as a server admin BUT not allow my friends to access them. That would be awesome.

Let me know if you understand what i'm getting at here, and if this would be possible.

I create stories in existing maps for my friends to play, and this would be awesome for me to use. I was just wondering if someone could add a way for the spawnlist to be on, so i can build inside of the gamemode?

It's not in sandbox so it won't work. In this version there is no way to disable PVP damage.
