hey! im having a problem with the mod, most of the machines dont place where im hovering the mouse, and it takes some guess work to get the right place, is there any way to fix this?
ErickD 21 Oct, 2023 @ 11:24am
@Wzkazu so is it possible to make a standalone verison instead of replacer version? some ppl in my server do like small one some prefer the vanilla size
Adrian C G 9 Jun, 2023 @ 7:55am
is it just me or is the water gen texture broken?
Wakazu  [author] 26 May, 2023 @ 5:06am
@sleepy witch ☆ I *might* shrink precursor datadrive (their equivalent of a microscope) but I won't be touching anything else in precursor cathegory. I'm trying to keep this resprite logical and consistent, and from this point of view nothing is wrong with precursor machinery - after all, it's an alien civilisation with it's own merits and culture.
Think of it this way - imagine yourself on an archeological expedition finding an ancient vine press. It still works, but is bulky and cumbersome. And then you ask me to make it smaller and faster so it can fit in your kitchen.
Hope you see where I'm getting to here. Precursor tech belongs into museum. It's just do happens that it could also be used in a lab.

Micro precursor machines would be such a godsend. You're doing such great work! Keep it up!
Lasagna 17 Apr, 2023 @ 11:38am
reading the changelog I'm with you on the solar panel changes.

for a long time FU solar panels intentionally didn't even work on ships, now they work at 50% effect I believe (despite the fact that solar should be MORE effective in space without things like cloud cover to worry about). the upgraded solar panels being costly and useless is news to me but it fits with some of the terrible design decisions in FU.
Yo 24 Aug, 2022 @ 6:06pm
does this add a seperate station? or does it replace the existing one?
i like some of the FU station but i also like the compact ones on here.
noneuclideanfrog 2 Jul, 2022 @ 12:30am
Some might call them... nanomachines, son
Wakazu  [author] 28 May, 2022 @ 6:44am
@Airelda
Base logic behind these resprites is to provide more freedom to build in any style instead of having to deal with being restricted to FU lab's white and yellow. Like, big white and yellow plastic-y chemlab can only look good beside equaly white and yellow equipment, which only somewhat suits apex and doesn't suit any other race at all, but if you throw away all fluff parts and only retain beakers and bunsen burner - you know, the things that are actualy used to do chem stuff - then you can fit them pretty much anywhere, from hi-tech apex labs to rustic glitch alchemist tower.
So point of this mod isn't so much to just shrink the stations as it is to liberate it from original mod's style tyrany.
Wakazu  [author] 28 May, 2022 @ 6:44am
With that said, I won't be respriting stations that are reasonable with their size, like embalming table (you're supposed to fit a corpse on that thing and playable races are 4 blocks high) and solar panels (these things work of surface coverage, so they have to be big in order to work, you can't expect a 1 square meter of solar panels to power your entire base).
Also I did shrunk solar tower almost twice the size, any more and it becomes rediculous.

Anyway, if there anything else that you think is unreasonably big, let me know and I'll look what I can do.
Airelda 27 May, 2022 @ 6:13pm
I love this, but it makes some workbenches too small (2x2) and some big items like the solar panels, for example, don't get small at all. Actually, I wish there was a version that made everything a uniform 3x4, or like the ship lockers size. So I feel this mod is incomplete, because some items aren't changed at all and they are still huge. I hope an addon gets made one day, WINK, WINK...
Gear`O`Derm 30 Apr, 2022 @ 9:11am
you are amazing
Zombie 28 Apr, 2022 @ 4:30am
Holy crap I reallllllly wish I found this before I just did 3 playthroughs straight. This mod is a godsend. FU has a lot of flaws despite how fun it is, and the obnoxious amount of space that discourages building fun bases is one of my biggest issues. This mod is awesome, downloaded it midplaythrough and now my big giant box just got a lot bigger.
Wakazu  [author] 13 Mar, 2022 @ 6:46pm
@Tidurian In general my thinking goes by the line "what do you actualy require to make stuff, and what is just fluff". Like, taking FU Chemistry Lab for an example - the only part of it that is mandatory for production of its stuff (which is mostly reagents and cellular junk) are beakers and bunsen burner, so that was exactly the part I left. Everything else, like table and that bookshelf, were just there to add stylish fluff, which is debatable (like, what if I'm playing as avian and don't want those very glitch-styled bookshelves?).
With railcrafting table, pretty much the only part that is fluff is the table itself aka surface. Both robotic arms are needed to print. Thats not to mention that one of the things this station produce are rail TRAMS, that are supposed to be big enough to fit an entire person. Tho I guess you can bypass this one, as trams usualy aren't monolitic enough to require solid construction.
Tidurian 13 Mar, 2022 @ 10:03am
@Wakazu : those stations all have their pros and cons arguing about them. reasons i added those (("but...")) below each of them. the Rail station is a tricky one indeed. "so much moving so much sparks much wow!" i would had trouble too pondering how to shrink that.
Wakazu  [author] 13 Mar, 2022 @ 9:57am
@Tidurian
Rail Crafting Table - will do once I figure out how exactly I can shrink it so it would make sence

Madness Crafting - maaaaaaaaybe, but most likely not. They are quite stylish and reasonable, I'm a bit into occult practices myself and trust me, atmosphere is mega-important in those, you DO want authentic stuff to do rituals, so big menacing books and scrolls actually feel right in place.

Industrial Centrifuge - does anyone use this thing even? Again, no logical reason to shrink that one, "Industrial" means it is designed to process bulk loads of stuff, so big size is reasonable.

The Athmospheric Regulator and Filter - you said it yourself, you can't expect a thing that affects an entire planet to be pocket-sized

Ship Component Assembler, Ship Component Racializer, Mech part Crafting Table - again, you said it yourself, you can't make a printer smaller than the stuff it prints
Tidurian 13 Mar, 2022 @ 9:34am
@Wakazu : Im happy with the mod as is. but if you want i can run down a list of suggestions:

the Rail Crafting table
((because the Wiring Station and the Workbench have gotten same treatment))

the entire lineup of Madness Crafting stations
((with the exception of the autopsy table as you stated. but i wonder if they need it.)

the Industrial Centrifuge,
((however i could see problems arrising with the Honey Jarring Machine "addon" for honey))

The Athmospheric Regulator and -filter
((however those are altering the frickin athmosphere and deserve to be huge))

Ship Component Assembler, Ship Component Racializer, Mech part Crafting Table
((however those handle parts that ARE big so size is kinda ok in my eyes))

thats all what i can think of right now without further thinking about it.
and about the Mainframe. my guess is they made it small then somebody said "hey its a mainframe it has to be big!" and the artist just expanded and was to lazy to animate? :)
Wakazu  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 7:13pm
@Tidurian want something to laugh about? You know, how much was actualy animated on that huge research mainframe sprite? ONE. FRIKKIN. HELIX. One DNA helix on rightmost monitor, that was it. Like, with so much space it took, you'd expect whoever drawn it to go ham with bells and whistles, but nope, one tiny helix was all that were there.
So I reduced it just to that. Since author clearly thought that tiny helix was important XD
Anyway, feel free to suggest another candidates to shrinking therapy if you happen upon one
Tidurian 12 Mar, 2022 @ 7:15am
ok thats a lot smaller :) thanks!
...now i can rebuild the room again since i dont need that much space anymore....
Wakazu  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 6:11am
@Tidurian Ok, done it.
I won't be touching precursor one, as all their furniture is bulky, that's kinda the style, and beside that, you can get their mainframe practicly for free, so it's bulkyness is a reasonable disadvantage to have. But science mainframe is now shrunk significantly, yes.
Tidurian 12 Mar, 2022 @ 4:37am
i would have one... a big offender.. the FU Computer Mainfraimes..
(Research Mainframe + Precursor Mainframe) I know they are supposed to be huge.... but come on the current sizes are just overkill. to reference the research computers just one tier lower are just as big as the player. if you could look into those i would appreciate it.
to clarify i dont expect you to shrink them tiny. but maybe half in size so they fit in a Standard room?
Wakazu  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 4:11am
@Tidurian Thanx! I wasn't in it for gold or glory, but getting both sure feels nice XD
Speaking of good work - just updated nanofabricator and psionic junk, so you might want to check those.
And you can always point at the other stations you think eat up way too much space. I see what I can do... within reasonable, of course (like, I won't be touching embalming table, since it is big because you're supposed to fit a corpse on it, and characters are 4 tiles tall, so 4 tiles wide is a legit minimum)
Tidurian 12 Mar, 2022 @ 3:37am
@Wakazu: Thanks for clarifying :)
maybe drop a note in the description that it needs a background wall and not a side attachment.
In your picture i can "now" see the glass behind it.... but its hardly noticeable.
And : Keep up the good work i really like this mod :) here have a award
Wakazu  [author] 11 Mar, 2022 @ 7:08pm
@Tidurian Yes, it is intended. The way anchors work in Starbound is that ALL of the side of sprite involved must touch something for sprite to be considered anchored. So, it you define "bottom" anchoring, then all bottom line of your object must touch the ground, "wall" - all side line must touch blocks, etc.
So it is literaly impossible to make a sprite that would sit on uneven support.
I was entertaining the thought of making solar towers wall-anchored, but that seemed a lot more restrictive from design point of view, so I ended up with background anchors instead.
Tidurian 11 Mar, 2022 @ 12:25pm
Sorry to bother once again-
i finally decided to built a Solar Tower and was puzzled as why i could not put it down against a side wall ((like in your picture))

Finally after much experimentation it seems the new placing method for those is against background blocks!

is that the intended behavior or does something on my end mess it up?
Wakazu  [author] 4 Mar, 2022 @ 12:05am
@Tidurian I mean, you can always do it yourself. It only requires to edit one instance map, in this case FrackinUniverse/dungeons/other/outpost/scienceoutpost-objects.png
You can either get it from package or from FU Github here:
https://github.com/sayterdarkwynd/FrackinUniverse/blob/master/dungeons/other/outpost/scienceoutpost-objects.png
Tidurian 3 Mar, 2022 @ 5:49pm
@Wakazu : I understand you fully. It is in the end just a cosmetic issue. no need to go lengths tidy that up. its just my personal lil OCD acting up *laughs*
Wakazu  [author] 3 Mar, 2022 @ 1:53pm
@Tidurian Update. So I found out how, but I won't be doing it and here's why: editing individual stations can be done via .patch files that DON'T overwrite the original .object file, instead adding changes dynamicly into it, but in order to relocate them you need to edit the instance map, which can only be done by overwriting it, as the map itself is an image fille, not lua.
What it means, is that if in the future Sayter decides to make changes to said map (which he's realy prone to do often and a lot) I would need to manualy copy said changes to my mod, otherwise it would become... I wouldn't say "unusable", but unpreferable for most people.
Sorry, but I'm not excited of becoming my mod's life-time tech support. I'd rather do something that only requires major update once in a year or so, than doing 10 itsy-bitsy-tiny-wheeny updates every week.
Revalopod 3 Mar, 2022 @ 4:43am
thanks for the comparison pics, and wow they really are tiny lol
Tidurian 3 Mar, 2022 @ 4:21am
Any chance for a patch on the science outpost to relocate some of the stations they have there?
i noticed that some of the shrunken stations "float" (placed a block higher above the floor)

Bless your soul thank you so much I was starting to lose hair over this you saved me from baldness
Cyasi 20 Feb, 2022 @ 12:36pm
Love this mod
Revalopod 18 Feb, 2022 @ 2:29am
alright :good:
Wakazu  [author] 17 Feb, 2022 @ 4:14pm
@Revalopod Might do it later. I'm on sick leave right now.
Revalopod 17 Feb, 2022 @ 7:26am
if it's not too much trouble, could you make a before/after comparison? :)
Wakazu  [author] 16 Feb, 2022 @ 11:08pm
And just for the record, @sayter - I just said I don't give a flip. So your implications of somebody "fearing" you are silly and wrongly assumed. Cheers!
Sayter 16 Feb, 2022 @ 10:28am
For the record: I have no issues whatsoever with your add-on. Your fears are silly and wrongly assumed. Nice work!
airman 15 Feb, 2022 @ 2:06pm
oh the little FU crafting stations are so cute! will be using this one!
Wakazu  [author] 14 Feb, 2022 @ 4:26pm
@dtnk It is a replacer, yes. It won't corrupt your world and you can install and uninstall it freely and as much as you'd like, but you'd have to break and place your stations anew each time, since it changes collisions and in some cases also anchors (aka stations that were previously placed on surfaces become mounted on background)
dtnk 14 Feb, 2022 @ 4:21pm
Very nice! Does this completely replace the full-sized crafting stations? I'm wanting to install this mod over my current world.
Wakazu  [author] 14 Feb, 2022 @ 3:45pm
@Silver Sokolova Well, Sayter is a dick, so most likely this mod will end up somewhere under DON'T USE IT WILL BREAK YOUR GAME cathegory. Not that I would give a flip about it XD
Silver Sokolova 14 Feb, 2022 @ 1:15pm
nice job! if they put this mod on the FU wiki's incompatibility page as a "old mod broke, use this instead," then that'd be kinda sus because they banned me for doing that except with my Tiny Stations mod
