Updated: new texture, thanks UdderlyEvelyn!

That's a nice clean texture, thanks! Let's see how badly I mangle it ... :)

@EbeneezerSquid You mean 8"? No 9 1/2" that I know of, though there's no shortage of lesser-known formats like 2".

Here's an image that shows a bunch of emoji-sized ones (similar to Rimworld item texture size):

I personally grew up with save icons having the shield downward, so that's my preference, and usually commercial ones were labeled in that direction too. Not sure why so many emojis flip it, to be honest.

I'd recommend using a different color floppy if you're going to use an outline, perhaps blue as that was also pretty common. I love retrocomputing and grew up in the 90s.. I like this idea. Don't forget that not everything has an outline, so you have options.

Perhaps something like this would fit well?

I accidentally hit the delete button, woo for no confirmation. This is what the below was replying to. xD

I didn't intend to mean it as anything negative. I am a vast repository of useless knowledge, eager to share.

Of course, I wonder how hard it would be to use something like what "Vanilla Textures Expanded - Variations" does and let people choose between Ceramic Disk, 9 1/2" Floppy, 5 1/2" Floppy, and 3 1/4" floppy, and SD card.
Zaljerem  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 5:55am
It would! We'd need a better artist than I to tackle that though.

A full-blown retro computing mod would be pretty cool, just sayin'.

My only intention was to make it look like a floppy disk. :) That's a neat piece of trivia though!

You may think that you are making the Techprints look like an older technology, but you are actually updating them by about 30 years.

Techprints look like ceramic Memory Storage Modules for the IBM3340 [www.computerhistory.org] without the plastic cover.

I know this because my parents had one as a souvenir from the job they worked when they met, at RCA Computers.
