Quite possibly unfortunately. Hopefully one day if people ever feel like fixing it up the maps are all available Open Source on GitHub. These day's I'm not as much into Source Engine mapping and since the tools aren't available for Linux (Bar running them through Wine), it makes it a bit harder for me to fix them. Maybe one day I'll go back to it, or hopefully some day Valve makes those tools Open Source/available for Linux

I'm not understanding how to fix the errors and missing textures. I have all 3 games (CS:S, L4D2, CS2 with CSGO Legacy selected) but every time I load the map, same result. My only guess is that the change from CSGO to CS2 fucked up the map.

If you have CS2 and you change the beta branch to the legacy CS:GO branch, GMod should be able to see it as normal

Is there any way on how I can get CSGO textures?
Vox Andrews  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 5:51am
I do have a small update for you, and this might help people missing some things. Here is what I have mounted into Hammer++:

"csgo" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo"
"cstrike" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Source\cstrike"
"left4dead2" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2"
"left4dead2_dlc1" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc1"
"left4dead2_dlc2" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc2"
"left4dead2_dlc3" "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc3"

Also I did just do a fresh reinstall of Gmod with CSGO Legacy, CSS and L4D2 and it seems like its all good on my end (I don't have any of the original map files so I pulled direct from this workshop page)

Hey @The Community Mädchen,

Sorry for the delay, it’s been a busy time for me.

I'm sorry to hear about the map issues. I had plans to pack the models and textures into the map a long time ago, but things were happening at the time and I couldn’t finish it. I was using the x86-64 Chromium branch for speed, but I can't comment on CS content with the switch to CS2.

I stopped due to Hammer++'s lack of GMod updates (though it recently got a few as of April). People suggested using regular Hammer, but I got used to Hammer++. Maybe I'll try again with the new updates.

You can find the map at https://github.com/VoxAndrews/Source-Engine-Maps and if you would like to, feel free to create a 'packed' version. I felt this issue would come up and wanted to give people options as I definitely don't know what I'm doing when it comes to packing (Not me saying 'You go do it', just giving the option to people if they want to give it a shot).

If you need any more help just let me know. Cheers!

I have CS:S, CS:GO Legacy Branch, and L4D2, and I know that they are mounted on Gmod, as other maps that use their assets are fine, but I still see missing textures and ERROR models. Is there something that may be wrong with my game? (I am on the x86-64 Chromium branch)

@random dude, you be missing games or haven't mounted them
random dude 25 May, 2024 @ 6:36am
bro wth why does it have that glitch thingy that looks like this:missing: and it also has alot of errors
Vox Andrews  [author] 12 Jan, 2024 @ 8:02pm
@Parker It was a while ago but from memory it was maybe a month or two. I was using Hammer++ which helps out a lot, but is quite buggy using it for Gmod (Heaps of crashes, certain items don't appear, etc.). I think the biggest barrier to getting another one done or updating this one is just the bugs with Hammer++, I was mostly waiting for the creator of it to fix them which I thought wouldn't be super long but it seems like he's abandoned the project. Could definitely do it with Hammer proper, but would take a lot longer as the process isn't as nice
Parker 11 Jan, 2024 @ 10:15am
how long did it even take you to make this map (i just want to know)
Vox Andrews  [author] 14 Dec, 2023 @ 9:10pm
Cheers @Jaalco, appreciate the feedback! Definitely something that would make it a bit better, haha. If I ever did do a V2 theres a bunch of ideas I would have for it (Ambient Sounds, better geometry, an outside area, secrets, etc.). Maybe one day if I stop being lazy, haha
Jaalco 14 Dec, 2023 @ 2:01pm
great map, only thing that would make it better would be some ambient sounds (water, ventilation etc)
Parker 20 Jul, 2023 @ 6:10am
you're welcome 😊

@Parker Cheers for the comment mate, really appreciate it, hah
Parker 18 Jul, 2023 @ 2:33pm
very good map i love it so much i would build this in real life but i like you're hard work you put in to this:steamthumbsup:
Vox Andrews  [author] 14 Jun, 2023 @ 4:16am
I decided that I would release the VMF file for this map to the public under the GPL-3.0 license. Anyone can now download the map file and fiddle with it to your hearts content, and you can use it either privately or commercially, as long as you also have it under the same licence. There is more information on the assets needed for this map (And the others listed on the repository), as well as some tidbits on the maps within the Wiki section of the repo.

I hope you all have some fun with it!

alright!!
Vox Andrews  [author] 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:45am
@vin Nah its all good mate, honestly I have been wanting to try and get another version out, your not the only one who's had issues with it. Source Engine is a pain to work with comparative to new engines, it doesn't have that ease of importing things due to the way its files work, but it would be better if I just stuck to one game if I even had to and get the rest of my assets from an external source so it's easier to package. If I do make another map, I'll try to make it that way so more people can hopefully have fin with it
dema 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:42am
all i need is l4d2
dema 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:42am
oh its fine! you dont have to of course i was just asking if it was possible.
Vox Andrews  [author] 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:42am
Awesome! That makes me feel good about what I did with the map. I hope if I do make a second iteration I can create the same feeling, I based parts of it off of a public pool I used to go to as a kid
Sting 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:40am
He said that the map is very beautiful and brings him a sense of comfort, as well as arousing a slight feeling of nostalgia.
Vox Andrews  [author] 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:31am
Very cool! Wish I knew what he was saying, but glad to see that someone is having fun with it

@vin I'll try to maybe do a remake in the future. Theres been a couple of times that I've wanted to go back to making maps, just been in a bit of a slump lately. I want to try to make one entirely from textures that you find online. Props may be a little harder as they are tied into the engine pretty hard having proprietary file formats, but I would try to reduce the amount of games needed

@Sting Cheers for the compliments mate, sorry you can't play it, I'm hoping if I make a map in the future I can accommodate more people. Originally I did try to pack the models and textures into the map, however, there aren't any tools to my knowledge to automatically tie them in, and doing it manually was taking a long time so eventually I gave up, but in the future I hope to make a remake that requires less. I've not seen anyone playing my map, would you happen to have any links to these videos, would love to see people's reactions to it.
Sting 3 Jun, 2023 @ 4:13pm
Your map is very good, I couldn't play it because CS:GO takes up a lot of space, but I saw it in videos and I liked it
dema 3 May, 2023 @ 2:26pm
can you make this without the mounted games? as it looks epic but i dont have any of the games
JustaFoxe 19 Mar, 2023 @ 2:08pm

Nice work dude! detail and effort put into this, such a complete masterpiece!
Vox Andrews  [author] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 8:55pm
If people can give me some direction as to where exactly I can find tutorials on how to pack the content from other games into my map, I would appreciate that. I am very new to all of this, I'm going off of the very small amount of knowledge I have, and the very splintered amount of knowledge there is on the web, because honestly a lot of tutorials I find either don't apply, are outdated/deprecated, or don't have what I need. I know it can be done, I just don't know how to do it or where to find the information.

I really do want to make my map as accessible as possible to as many people as possible, but I really need some help finding where I have to go.
Curious Mando 21 Feb, 2022 @ 1:57pm
This is 2022. It was passable back in 2009 when Gmod was still getting on its feet, but fuck off if you expect anyone to install half a game library just to play one map.
Vox Andrews  [author] 20 Feb, 2022 @ 6:33pm
@Ben Shapiro

Ah, nicu. I knew you could do that, but I wasn't sure which tool I needed to use. Now that I know I might update that soon as to fix everything
zoeynoflaca 20 Feb, 2022 @ 10:10am
@Vox Andrews if you pack the textures and asset from the games into the .bsp, we wouldn't have to have 3 different games installed just to play the map.
bigstacbub 20 Feb, 2022 @ 9:14am
I have CS:S and L4D2 textures, but I can't find any CS:GO textures.
