OK, this compatch mod is not need anymore, it is included in base game now. So you can use any portrait border mod without issues when using Total Animation - All Portraits Are Animated.

I would also recommend to use the fix for Total Animation - All Portraits Are Animated which can be found here:

@Morven - thank you. I misunderstood your note above "filenames set by MacAwesome" to mean that I needed a mod that he has made, and not a "standard" that you guys had created

Load order shouldn't matter with his portrait mods. Gui mod files overwrite eachother on a first-come first-served basis, the first alphanumeric filename gets loaded and locks out every other mods gui file. The different mods here have filenames to arrange that order, started by MacAwesome, then the different portrait modders, and I adapted the Total Animation mod's filenames to fit in with that.

What it means is that you can have them in any order in your launcher's mod playset and the filenames will sort their load order out by themselves.

Only caveat is that at some point in the future Paradox may change how mod loading order works. Non-gui mods load by overwriting, with the last alphanumeric filename overwriting every other mod and getting their keys loaded. Playset load order only affects the load order when mods have the same filename.

I fixed the issues with all the Portrait Border mods, I had to add some addition code to their 0_portraits.gui. I am reaching out to most of the portrait modders.

Unfortunately Wroke is not around so I am going to upload a fix to apply to his Noble Frames mod.

PDX added in some addition code in portraits.gui and it was a little challenging to find which one applied to the issues.

Only thing I am kind of noticing on some of the portrait mods vs vanilla portrait.gui file, is some resizing of window frames in vanilla.

Morven I am not sure if this patch needs updated, but all Title-Portrait mods have issues right now. PDX did some GUI changes, I think it might be related to the Rival and Friend icons they added. Some screens get weird images in them or the borders do not show.

I do not use Clear Portrait Borders mod at the moment, but was doing some testing with it. I think there are a bit of players whom use it though.

There are some changes, but one thing to look out for is they changed the size of portrait_rank.dds to { 196 194 }. So you need to update that part or it will appear unaligned in-game. I went ahead and resized portrait_rank_back.dds to match as well.

Tentative update for Fate of Iberia 1.6. No changes, uses the old values from v1.5, vanilla has made some small tweaks but it doesn't seem to affect anything I can see. Let me know if there are any issues with frames or portraits.

In the order of loading, you could add the information that in the case of Title-Ranked Portrait Borders by MacAwesome (I don't know about the others) it must be loaded after Advanced Character Search. Otherwise, we have an effect: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2796249684 This is the fault of the conflict of modification Advanced Character Search with Title-Ranked Portrait Borders.

Without double checking, I think using this patch mod will turn the ironman version of Title-Ranked Portrait Borders into the non-ironman version, i.e. the patch will make the top frame of the portrait border render underneath the hats and crowns, the patch is the gui modding of the non-ironman version (plus the animation code), which is what makes the non-ironman version different from the ironman version.

Try loading different combos and see what look you prefer. Non-ironman means they poke their head out of the border frame window, ironman means they're stuck inside the window with you peering in.

The ironman version won't need this patch, as it's designed without any gui modding so it's compatible with achievements, at the cost of some clipping of hats and crowns at the top of the portrait border. The non-ironman version will need this patch as it does some gui modding so the top of the portrait border goes underneath the hats and crowns.

But it does beg the question, if you're using Total Animation, which is a gui mod, you can't get achievements, so you'd be better off using the non-ironman version of Title-Ranked Portrait Borders which won't clip at the top (unless you prefer that clipping in the ironman version where the hats stay within the portrait square).

I been kind of posting this in most Title Rank Border mod area. Someone posted on Reddit and I was in disbelief, since I have not played vanilla in a while and did not see change notes in last patch about it.

I am not sure you guys know this, but I didn't. At some point the Devs added in portrait borders to the game, I think last patch. I did not see change notes for it. Here is some screenshots of vanilla.

I had a look for you. Improved Portraits by Ensy will work as is with Animation Fix and doesn't need this (or any) patch mod, he's cleverly done it by only modding 'gfx' files, and doesn't touch any 'gui' files, which is where the conflict with Animation Fix needs to be patched for the others.
