Has anyone tried this in RimWorld 1.4?
Hunterfoxtrott 19 Nov, 2023 @ 12:57pm
does the mod also work in 1.4?

@PeasantUnit, 1) Yellow warnings won't break the game, 2) not having a download URL won't break the game either. It's not worth a full patch update but I'll look into it.

Hello! Getting a yellow warning: "Mod Wolfs GauMedicine dependency (VanillaExpanded.Ideo.Dryads) needs to have <downloadUrl> and/or <steamWorkshopUrl> specified."

@Wolf478, but I do :) I’m playing with Neron Neolithic as my storyteller right now, and he limits tech level and factions to neolithic. So, only bows and spears, rugs, tamed animals and anima shamans. I’m literally leading a tribe of cannibal warhammer’ish dryads on a road to world conquest. My next playthrough would probably be with ratkins or skavens on medieval level. There is also storyteller for this from VFE – Medieval expansion. So, no Industrial tier researches for me for a while.

@Alexander_Zagirov, unless you've got a mod that removes Industrial tier researches, this isn't a huge issue and in terms of vanilla gameplay this is fine.

Oh, and a bit of a post though: it probably should have a dependency on pemmican research. Like you first learn how to create preserved food, and then how to mix some herbs.
Alexander Zagirov 27 Apr, 2022 @ 4:27am
@Wolf478, Drug production is still an industrial tech level research. You literally need to mix some herbs with ambrosia and wrap it in animabric, so this should be around pemmican level research. Preferably a standalone one.

@Alexander_Zagirov, I hear ya. It's partially why I made the mod. I also recently saw River's Tribal Shoes/Mittens and thought it was a godsend since I was previously working on a compatability patch for shoes/gloves since there's a lot of mods that add them.

Anyway. GauMedicine 1.1.0 is out now with the new fix.

@Wolf478, I’m playing a heavily modded game (around 250 mods) on highest difficulty, and normal win conditions are kinda boring already, so I’ve been trying to limit myself to certain playstyles. Also, I balance my mods, so there wouldn’t be anything broken. And little things like this mod add a bit of “flavor” to my game, or for example mod’s like “River's Tribal Shoes/ Mittens” :) That’s why I was so disappointed that a perfect “themed” mod had a huge flaw like this.
Wolf478  [author] 26 Apr, 2022 @ 8:08pm
@Alexander_Zagirov, Absolutely. I only had the idea for this mod after I'd managed to build up a huge Dyrad base with the medicine tech already researched so I hadn't put 2 and 2 together with the whole druid/tribal playstyle. Will definately add it to the crafting spot.
Alexander Zagirov 26 Apr, 2022 @ 8:06pm
@Wolf478, Then can you plz add recipe to a basic crafting spot? For neolithic people this is practically the only crafting station available :)
Wolf478  [author] 26 Apr, 2022 @ 7:55pm
@Alexander_Zagirov, good point. I'd ask that if you have a grievance in the future that you not go off on a rant and a whinge about it. When you ask, or suggest a change to the mod instead of bitch to me about it, I'll change it.
Alexander Zagirov 26 Apr, 2022 @ 3:53pm
*facepalm* Just why? I’ve been looking up mods for my tribal colony challenge (neolithic tech only!), and though this would be perfect as I’m using dryads… only to find out later that you need a frigging drug lab to actually create this medicine. Why?! You need industrial tech level to open it. There is absolutely no point!

@Squidman-Malachar, yeah I know. Neutroamine milking just isn't very flavourful, and it's very very slow.

Looks fun enough, but VIE Medicine dryads can already be awakened and milked for neutro.

Good if you don't take dryad supremacy though.
