All projects and updates are put on hiatus until further notice due to life circumstances. Some new missions and updates are close to being finished, but cant continue to work on them at the moment. Hope you guys will play them when they are released, and thank you to the thousands of subscribers and everyone who gave me feedback. Sorry Juba. Not sure whats happening, but people have been reporting that on pretty much all my missions recently. I think it started happening months ago actually. I’m wondering if its some kind of issue with Arma3 if it had been updated recently or something. Unfortunately, I dont currently have a lot of free time to try and troubleshoot. Hopefully over summer. I’m still planning on playing arma3 and messing around with it for a long time still.

exfil script is broken i guess. I get in the helo with my team, it goes up and starting to hunt vc in jungle, then land on the lz and all over again

One if not the best, SOG we have played in ever so long. Amazing work, as always, and I suggest if you have not played this series, It Is Time :)

To anyone here reading the reviews, try the "Co-op only" version of this mission I released as it fixes most of the bugs and problems people had when playing coop, and adds a virtual arsenal, spawn on group leader script, trackers, etc.

Thanks everyone for your support, feedback, and patience. My work life has been insane, but It’s going to be slowing down shortly, and plan on fixing a lot of bugs. Also going to try and fix the difficulty of this one because Ive been getting some saying its way to hard. Might dial it back just a bit

Played it again last night ….I’m happy it’s finally get the attention it deserves but it should be 5 stars. I really enjoy this mission and it’s the best one on the SOG workshop as of yet.

This is excellent scenario. Big thanks to FUBAR making this. Bit too challenging without respawn option for our team:) Is there any way to enable respawn like in chapter 1?

Another good 'un , though evac again didn't work for me. Exfil helo ascended to about 50 ft and then landed again in Lz..Alamo? After that it didn't budge.

Part 1
This is a very realistic and satisfying mission. Nothing better the creeping into an AO and setting up on a trail undetected. Then use remote claymores or satchel charges to ambush an VC/NVA patrol. You really need to watch the patrol routine to ensure you ambush a decent size one…. Get the most bang for your Buck!!! Then move to your RON site …. Hopefully undetected. The fun begins the next morning when moving to the PZ. It’s gonna take a-lot of fighting and strategic arty use to help get to the PZ in one piece. I played this mission numerous times inserting on different locations and using different ambush locations. Still a blast every time !!!!

I’m waiting for one very similar to this but with the ability to do a prisoner snatch using suppressed weapons . I’d also like to see the trails in a more dense vegetation / triple canopy location. The team should be able to setup very close to the trail without fear of detection …. Much like the teams were able to in real life.

One of my biggest complaints, this is an ARMA issue, is the unreliable helicopter landing issue. I have moved to numerous open areas that can easily handle a Huey or Kingbee but it will refuse to land. I’ve also used the 15k daisy cutter to clear a large LZ and again I can rarely get the helo to actually land and have to chase it down.

Thanks I agree. I think this is my best and definitely most true to LRRp style mission. Im hoping when september roles around, work slows down enough that I can make some more missions geared towards this style of play. I find it kind of strange that this is my least subbed, viewed and lowest rated mission thus far

No reason this one doesn’t have 5 stars. It’s the best mission in the group so far. No doubt , make more along the lines of this one as it’s the most realistic to what LRRPs actually did. I would just add the ability to collect some intel off the bodies once a successful ambush is sprung!! Keep up the awesome job !!,

I thought it was awesome! Tried it several times(singleplayer) and once the helicopter did fly around engaging baddies and then landed back on the LZ. Next time it flew to about 80ft and hovered, think all the NVA close by were dead so we just sat there. Last lime I plastered the LZ with arty and airstrikes(daisycutter works well!) killing all those close to the LZ.Chopper picked us up and flew back to base but the "extract" task was still at the LZ. Really did enjoy it though, very well crafted.

I hope I can get it worked out and have more people enjoy it. I think this is the most authentic lrrp mission in the series. Planning on making more similar to this style if people enjoy them, but this seems to be the least popular of my missions haha

@cnice73 There must be some kind of issue when its played on a server. Works in the editor. I’ll fix it asap. What about the extract? Did the helo fly directly back and rtb? There was an issue before where it would circle and attempt to engage enemies still, but I think I fixed it. Thanks for the playthrough and bug report. Happy to hear you still enjoyed it

Tried it again after the tweaks, only issue was the helicopter extraction at the end. Getting in didn't fulfill the "exfil and RTB" task, we landed and the task was still showing at the extract point. Still fun!

@cnice I actually had trckers originally, and I got rid of theme because it was way to difficult. There are some random patrols, and depending on which ambush point you choose and when you choose to ambush one of the targets, there can be patrols behind you or close by. Sorry it was frustrating. My missions are never done. I continue to tweak all of them when I get time, so Ill keep your guys comments in mind.

Great to hear a new one is incoming! As for the WW2 themed ones, yeah those could be interesting too. Maybe sometime in the future you can try something with the War on terror spec op theme?
And thanks for taking the time to create all these missions! It seems Arma4 is a long way off.

Man, I get to the ambush point, take out the squad walking on the trail, and then dudes just start coming from everywhere! Haven't been able to get past this point since the update. Are they trackers? Seems like a lot of guys coming from behind us...

Thanks @mason77. When did you play the mission? I think I dialed it down friday, but I play tested it and think I can still adjust it. Its managable now, but still a little too heavy on the enemy part. I agree, it was just insane before and pretty much impossible. I have another mission on standby, but have been working a lot, so not a lot of time as of late. Hopefully in 2 weeks i’ll drop another. Also going to try and drop some WW2 themed ones if that floats your boat

Overall this is a very enjoyable mission, it could have been the best mission in the series so far if it wasn't for the second part. I didn't play the dialed-down version so i guess it's better now.

Side notes from me:
First part is amazing and setting up an ambush with M18s was a blast. Though outmaneuvering all those patrols before the ambush was a bit hard but manageable. Ambush, firefight, arty and moving to RON was so atmospheric.
Unfortunately, the extraction part is unbearable and so overwhelming. I understand if the point was to give a hint of how difficult those missions were irl. But the video game needs balance after all, it becomes impossible to complete. Just my opinion ofc.


Keep up with amazing work, i can't wait to see your next one! This series is definitely among the very best user made content for this DLC.

Lol….my high blood pressure thanks you !!!! I fought numerous pitch battles and wore my arty batteries out prepping my forward movements…..all to no avail. Id always get overrun 3/4 of the way to the LZ 😀

Still a damn good mission. I enjoy setting up claymore / satchel charges in a kill zone on the trail and getting lucky catching a group going both ways. Pretty awesome !!!

Thanks @gt500svt. Sorry about the ending, it’s suppossed to end there, and has when I played it. A play tester told me about some other problems, I tried to update and fix them, and I guess I broke the ending now? This shit is frustrating sometimes haha.

I might add I’m a former Marine and in my 50s. I spent a lot of time reading all the Recon and LRRP books in the PX from my time in the late 80s til early 90s. My first PC game was 1994 EAs Seal Team I played on my computer I bought for college. While I guess the graphics for its time were ok, where it excelled was immersion, real life missions, pretty accurate equipment and replay ability. PF SOG is the first game, in my opinion, to have the same feel….it’s like ST on super steroids!!! With people like you make these awesome missions….. it’s what a lot of us ol timers have been waiting for. These stupid arcade FPS over the last 20 or so years just haven’t had the feel of real life or real history. Thanks again for taking the time and doing the type of work you do!!! It is dang appreciated.

Nice update and nice touch on the fake insertion…..I also like the RON and extract the following day. Your missions have a very historic feel to them. The only issue I might have had is once I extracted and got back to base there was no ending. Not sure if this mission does this or not where it says complete or you go debrief and you see your statistics. I went to the Colonel’s hut but nothing happened.

I might suggest a future mission being inserted into and area to locate a trail(s) or camp. Then monitor it for intel ( patrols, vehicles, etc…) then RON and either ambush a patrol on the trail for intel document gathering or call in ARTY or AIR to destroy the camp and it’s garrison and the extract. Just a thought!!

Again….great job. You got a real gift and I hope you put out many more of these!!!! My only complaint is the arsenal as it cumbersome to set up your team. Other than that, your missions are the best!

Completed first two missions and intro, really enjoyed them. Gearing up for this mission, noticed there is no M40 sniper ammo in the arsenal even though there is the option to take an M40

Gt500svt….. Thank you! Thats what Im aiming for. Its obviously hard to make a 4-7 day patrol in the jungle and usually just to observe and report enemy movement, but Im trying to compress books like Garys, mix it games like vietcong, and a hint of movies like Apocalypse Now, etc. wanted to have more of an atmospheric feel and story than the usual workshop stuff.

With that said, I am new at this, and am planning and trying to improve upon what I have while simultaneously creating more missions, and having a regular life with a job and kids, so please be patient with me.

FUBAR……great job!! I’ve only played Chapter 3 as I liked the feel of a real LRRP style mission. Reminds me of the old books by Gary Linder. Please keep these style mission coming. I do have a few questions and and suggestions.

1. Can you implement team revive?
2. The arsenal would be better if you implemented the one where you can save setups. Much easier to outfit yourself and team members.
3. Why no air support or 105 arty ?
4. Ever thought about a multi day mission with trail ambushes, intel gathering, and using a RON …be very historically accurate.
