This addon is outdated.
It's essentially a low-phys version that might be more ideal for making videos with them. The SSB4 Peach is an example if you need a reference.
My best bet would be to make a duplicate of the edited mesh, then reapply the armature/skeleton. Just some food for thought.

To offer some feedback, perhaps add a seperate head bone so you could move headgear seperately like on the Squid Sister casual models. As it stands, the Octoleet Goggles are slightly misplaced on Marina's face.
