Any chance of an update? :)

I've been playing a game, recently opened the L-cluster, but haven't made any of my own gateways. No issues so far, like how the previous mod had an issue with misalignment.

Any experiences with 3.6?

Good stuff man, the two patches make all the icons work correctly in my playset. Thanks bunches for putting in the extra effort. Galaxy view: https://i.imgur.com/pabIOtP.png Planet view: https://i.imgur.com/gXSHCAy.png

@AngleWyrm Finished with the GSE patch!

Have some points, you're a good sport.

@AngleWyrm Yes, in that they've just modified the same assets as this mod, causing the conflicts. I've created a patch for NSC2: will see how difficult GSE proves to be, as I'm not an artist. Well, at least not a good one. Meaningless internet points also help ;)

Proven true for Giga-Structural Engineering? Are you seeing different results? sprite reference in GSE z_overwrite_sprite_icons.gfx name = "GFX_ship_class_medium", textureFile = "gfx/interface/icons/ship_classes_medium.dds"

@AngleWyrm By "New Ship Components 2" do you mean "Extra Ship Components NEXT?" It's the only mod I found in your load order that looked like it added an excess of ship components. When looking through its files there were no starbase image overrides I could find. I did happen to find GSE's images though and can create a patch!

As for a code fix, this mod PURELY changes assets, so in my mind the only way it's glitching is if another mod also is overriding those images. Therefore a code fix should not be required. This is proven true in GSE's case.

Found references in NSC2, nsc_icons.gfx and starbase_exented_modules.gfx named "GFX_starbase_ship_sizes_medium"

PS: Here's a thought, maybe it would be possible to add a line of code that overwrites the gfx reference for those mods to refer to your gfx? If the mods aren't installed, no harm done, but if they are, then they'd use your icons.

Filename search got one hit on that one too, New Ship Components 2 (NSC2); disabling that mod fixed the galaxy star base icon. Disabling just those two mods (NSC2 and GSE) made both the local map https://i.imgur.com/5wzsJ1q.png and the galaxy overview https://i.imgur.com/me9brAs.png icons correctly laid out. Those are rather popular mods though. Just as an experiment, I created a playset with only 3 mods, NSC2, GSE, and this one at the bottom of the list. Unfortunately the icons went wonky in both screens. I recall when I was trying to do some work on an outliner mod, that sometimes load order isn't respected, and the game just goes by alphabetical filename. Terrible plan if you ask me, but I wound up changing a filename to alter the load order.

@AngleWyrm If you're placing this mod close to last in your load order I'd expect the GSE conflict and others to resolve. As for the "galaxy map icons" which are actually starbase icons, they're located at "gfx/interface/icons/starbase_ship_sizes(_medium).dds" and would be potentially changed by any mod that adds new starbase tiers or targets them directly.

Filename search got one hit on Giga-Structural Engineering, and disabling that mod corrected the local in-system icons https://i.imgur.com/7oa3gKF.png but not the galaxy map icons https://i.imgur.com/pgDrFQf.png . You mentioned guilds, so I disabled Courtesan Guilds, but that didn't change the situation for the galaxy map. Do you maybe have some more filename or other suggestions I could look for to disable?

@AngleWyrm For one you still have "Even Better Galaxy Icon Overview" enabled, which was an incomplete "update" of "Better Icon Overview," and therefore will conflict with this. If unsubscribing from it and placing this mod last in your load order does nothing, then I'd say any mod that edits "gfx/interface/icons/ship_classes(_medium).dds" is incompatible. Such a mod would be any that add new guilds and are not achievement compatible IMO.

Like all versions of this mod, it's incompatible with my playset. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/0AxU62I.png Here's my playset, for anyone who wishes to figure out where the incompatibilities lie: https://pastebin.com/1wrP8WLP
