when all of the civs were buffed why was England nerfed so hard. This is Pax Britanica "GS-Only The first city founded on each continent other than England's home continent grants a free melee unit in that city and +1 Trade Route Trade Route capacity. Building a Royal Navy Dockyard grants a free naval unit. " There's no free naval unit on the royal navy dockyard. Just a measly 2 gold and some loyalty. What's the point of building it then? Idk I like playing England I know there was a previous version of civ expanded that made it stronger instead of weaker, just not sure what happened. It's been a while since I played though.

I can't start the game. I'm getting an error. I think platinum edition players can't play this even though the mod doesn't state it has new dependencies

Except that there are. There are new policy cards (Harvest Calendar and Early Exploration, for example) and at least one civ (that I found - Nzinga) with one extra Economic Policy slot.

These changes are not present in the Google Sheets linked in the original mod's page.

Just what I was looking for -- Germany losing that military policy card was a deal breaker in the regular version. This one works great!

Could you buff the yields gained from successful spy missions for Wu from 25% to 50%? Her abilities still seem a bit weak when compared to others within this mod. Maybe also allow her to chose from any spy upgrade? That would also help separate her more form Black Queen Catherine.

Elizabeth I should gain a trade route capacity for every recruited G admiral and otherwise prolly remain as is. Just an idea.

Also, if you wanted to add, in addition to the Civ's ability of removing movement penalties from embarking or disembarking into the sea, because the earliest Varangian Guard were from the Rus, perhaps "no movement penalty from crossing a river with Levied (or all) Units" would also or instead of, be a good part of the Leader Ability. Another part could be, that Levied Units in a Casus Belli of Liberation, Reconquest, or Protectorate War(s) receive +10 Strength for 5 turns. (As again, the Varangian Guard were fighting with/for Allies.

I thought about these changes, it would make it a more balanced Leader/Civ and would also, provide the Lite bonus this mod is looking to go for. Inspiration for these changes came from Matthias, the Civ itself, & the history of Varangian Guard.

New Leaders Suggestion: #1. Both Haralds' should have the Longship removed from their 'Leader Ability' and added to the 'Civ's' (Norway's) Ability. #2. Harald (Vanangian) ADD: A. They should earn an extra +1 Era Score (in addition to the +1 or +2 that would normally be earned) each time they Levy a City-State's troops. B. The maintenance cost, in terms of gold and/or resources, should cost 50% less for all Levied Units. C. Wounded Levied Units heal +5 extra per turn (would be the same as and stack with Great Scientist Abu Al-Qasim Al-Zahrawi.) D. All Levied Units earn 50% more XP. E. (optional, if possible) If a Levied Unit is the one to break the City's Walls (completely,) they earn 50% of that level of wall's production cost in Faith, Culture, & Science.

What do you think about making Muhtesem Suleimans ability grant +4 combat strength in non-golden ages against civs regardless of their era?
Right now, it doesn't even work correctly like it should (I fought in a dark age against an enemy in a normal age and didn't get the combat bonus) and even if it would work, it's still so situational

Cool thanks for clearing it all up. Sounds good. And if you are still looking at that spy % ability with Wu, maybe to make it worth it, if you cannot change that as much, is something to reduce establishing time (moving to the foreign/city-state cities) and/or escape speed.

Yes to everything except Sun Tzu's Art of War. It works just as one would assume.

Sun Tzu's "Art of War" great work technically isn't a charge, so it doesn't grant an additional one.

Yea i think i was thinking of admirals lol, but no i wasnt talking about the passive strength/movement bonuses. Just the actionable ability. So I am in game, like Classical theres one that does a permanent -25% war wearingness for your empire... does that mean it will do -50%? One that does +2 or +4 or +6 Loyalty for a City, can be used twice (for +4/+8/+12 respectively in total) or must be on 2 different cities? Same with the +1 air slot on whatever district... Also, there is the 5% production for all military units, does that mean you can use it twice for 10% total? The 50% flanking bonus, twice would mean a total 100% flanking for all land units?

Last one, the one that makes a Great Work... Art of War, does we get 2 Arts of War? lol

Those are all the ones that aren't tried to promotions, formations, envoy, and instant units...

I don't think there are any Great General retirement abilities that grant Sight or Healing like that...I believe you're referring to their passive abilities? Caesar's ability doesn't affect those. Let me know if I misunderstood you.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to think of a good way to have that scale up better. It's kind of limited in what I can tie the increase to, so I think I'm going to increase percentages.

The biggest issue with Wu Zeitian in the base game is her 25% of those 4 yields from just 1 turn of the target, after you spend 8 turns on the mission and whatever amount (let's say 4-7 turns) to get the the city, and the mission to increase your chances before that. It's really bad mid or late game.I'm glad you gave her extra spies/capacity, but she really needs higher percentage of stolen goods. Maybe 50% (still pretty sad imo) or something like 25% for every specialty district in the target city... that way it can be more in the cities the AI will guard with spies and not others, as well as, scales with the game as the AI grows their cities (hopefully, lol.)

Cool Julius rework. Does that mean, the General has an ability that gives all units like +1 sight or always +5 healing, that it will double it on the second use? Or will it just be the same 'promotion' added to the unit and be redundant?

Fair enough about the bloat, though there was def historical accuracy to it. Probably would feel less 'bloat' if they were more widely used and useful.

I was surprised to see that with Wu Zeit, you did 100% for Government Plaza & Buildings, but not the Diplomatic Quarter & Buildings (as it ties into spies a little more directly, imo, in terms of themes.)
