@Le druide i did that in the khorne reskin (link in the description)

It would be nice if you also do this for the Chosen of Khorne (Dual Weapons).

i think it was a design choice by CA because throughout his attack animations it's almost like he's brutally punching things to death, but with brass knuckles that look suspiciously similar to an axe :winter2019happydog:
Nolrach 20 Apr, 2024 @ 6:27am
@Bala it seems like it doesn't but it doesn't break anything either.
SEVEN GOON SESH 24 Feb, 2024 @ 4:35pm
Still work?

@Lone Wolf
why don't you go test that out with some viking combat trainers ^^

there is an entire sport around it and people who can use an axe for combat there is absolutely a technique to it.
if you are fighting with double axe or axe and any weapon not a shield; you will hold them as he is normally because its much more usefull; holding it in stratched position is very hard to do much and you might as well just have 2 clubs (which would properly do better because controlling axes this long, hitting with them fluently.. hmm.
honestly something as strong and big as skarbrand is better off using them like a good butcher chupper or a knuckle; which is what he is doing ^^

@Storeslem I somehow prefer the look of most units by CA
Storeslem  [author] 9 Jul, 2023 @ 12:33pm
@Seven Flames check my khorne reskin

Now that I have installed this mod, I can't unsee the chocking axes anymore.
Could you also make a mod for the dual axe infantry of Khorne? They hold their axes so close to the blade of the axe that it makes you wonder why they don't just use shorter axes
Ghoul 10 May, 2023 @ 3:46pm
Skarbrand isn't trying to chop you with an axe. He wants to punch you with it
WeberKooks < Discord 10 Apr, 2023 @ 2:33pm
"You've never held combat axe" literally the only time you would ever wield an axe that way is if you we're forced to use it in a clinch fight which is an extremelly inefficient use of an axe and i've studied HEMA. I think your full of crap and so is gw but it is fantasy after all. I'd like my fantasy to be just a little bit less stupid personally.
Rustic Clover 3 Apr, 2023 @ 8:04pm
CA was just following the model lol
MarehGul 11 Mar, 2023 @ 12:53pm
There are actually situations when you'd want axe like that, so you prob never hold combat axe.
WeaponisedMoron_2 17 Feb, 2023 @ 8:30am
i know he is a Greater Demon of immense rage and power, but i dont think his wrists will survive the reckoning.
Ulf 6 Nov, 2022 @ 10:50am
"They are made to be held like that.so close to the axe head"

Well.
Why the long embarassing handle then ?

Y'all gotta learn how to use an axe lmao
Lone Wolf 5 Sep, 2022 @ 2:34am
@Tjaranis Yeah there are always so many people on the internet who think they know what they are talking about... There is no "correct" way of using axes. You can use them in a variety of ways for great effect.
IIFriggII 30 Aug, 2022 @ 10:05am
just wanna say there are LOTs of combat techniques with axes that holds both at head or half way;
it's different techniques and generally used for CC or defensive strategy ^^
just for all you weapon nerds before you jump to much ;D
Brutallica 26 Aug, 2022 @ 3:43pm
@Candyman, he dosent care for sure, but he does care about maximum physical momentum, slaughter, carnage etc etc.
Candyman 9 Aug, 2022 @ 10:46am
wouldnt be surprised if he actually used em like that. he prolly doesnt give a rats ass about the proper way to hold his ax so long as he can smash your head in
Grenith 13 Jul, 2022 @ 4:43pm
CA probably copied his model directly into the game without thinking, or Skarbrand is canonically REALLY dumb and his attack stat should be incredibly low in-game to reflect that fact.
unless specifically stated 6 Jul, 2022 @ 5:38am
FYI the reason why he holds axes on his TT model in such position is because it is easier to carry them and spread the weight. In combat the LAST thing you want to do is to swing axes while hoding them close to the blade, not only it is uncomfortable, it also makes the swing very unbalanced, resulting less force at the axe point. So yeah, blame on CA for not properly translating axe animations into the game.
WeaponisedMoron_2 6 Jul, 2022 @ 5:02am
Dont blame CA, the tabletop model literally has the exact same grip.
Vanhal 4 Jul, 2022 @ 11:00pm
@medhathobo You are absolutely right, but it still hurt my eyes, the mod is blessed.
medhathobo 3 Jul, 2022 @ 1:43pm
That is kinda the point dude. Skarbrand holds them that way even on his model, as you show in the picture. He likes to get as close to the blood as possible. As close to his enemy as possible. He is intentionally aiming his axes for cutting heads off. They are made to be held like that. The list goes on.

how can i get that reskin
V 2 Jul, 2022 @ 12:50am
@storeslem omg yes!
2Scribble 1 Jul, 2022 @ 5:58pm
Akward??? Is that Admiral Akward?????? xD
Akuti 1 Jul, 2022 @ 4:53pm
Yeah, if you're punching with axes like they're crazy knuckles, it makes sense. This is kinda undoing the Khorne flavor. He's crazy gorilla daemon prince of rage and punch, not a classy duelist.
Nooses 1 Jul, 2022 @ 11:38am
Games Workshop to blame, not CA, plus he punches with the axes since Skarby has one brain cell and its dedicated to claiming skulls :WH3_skragHapp:
Vaxar Kun 1 Jul, 2022 @ 11:12am
i think that would be better than vanilla. That corset is so hard to unsee

this mod looks interesting , might give it a try for sake of variety. Not sure how it looks with the anim where he tosses his weapon into the dirt.
Storeslem  [author] 1 Jul, 2022 @ 7:00am
@ve i never noticed it tbh haha, you want him to look like this? https://ibb.co/6WRXTP9
V 1 Jul, 2022 @ 6:16am
i still have anxiety from that chestplate (corset)
Ciaphas Cain 1 Jul, 2022 @ 5:13am
I just came
Lord Alexander 1 Jul, 2022 @ 4:46am
I mean it really depends on how you're fighting with the axe. How he's holding them in vanilla game is more precision cutting. But aye, that's far from how Skarbrand is fighting - makes way more sense how you've repositioned considering how he's fighting, as is the most common way of striking with an axe (especially Khornate warriors lol).
Anyway, nice job! I like these kind of subtle yet more accurate mods.
Guvenoren 1 Jul, 2022 @ 4:37am
Fuck that is so much better. Holy shit, it's like an anxiety left my chest.
