is this compatabile with mods that turn the chance of heart attacks to 0%? i installed a mod (forgot the name) wich makes it so when someone dies there will always be a kill animation played. does this affect this mod?

Can you explain the medieval kingdoms battle system a bit more? There is good animation variety for killing animations. But in terms of regular matched combat, I am not seeing the variety in 1v1 combat between all infantry unit types (spear v spear, spear v sword, etc.) In addition, I also noticed that the variety of regular matched combat animations I mentioned earlier is present in the r2tw version of the mod and both vanilla attila and while using other mods. Which leads me to wonder if the problem is with base medieval kingdoms, hence my initial question.

hmm, it seems to work but it also seems to affect certain units poorly. Like the bill units. They attack with invisible swords.

When you say load above, you mean so that it loads before? The default CA mod manager isn't Above is priority. Above aka #1 means that will load first, and subsequent numbers will load after, thus giving them priority to overwrite the ones above.

So, you're saying you want the MK1212 files to overwrite this...?

It might work, but you may be better off using the original mod as its more compatible. This mod was made specifically for Medieval Kingdoms so it includes all of the battle changes it makes. The original mod might work better, as it doesn't make any battle balance changes.

@typical Use all of the modules, just make sure you load this one on top of the official 1212 AD modules.

@sin This mod doesn't change anything related to units or factions. Its simply changes the fighting animations between units for 1212 AD. If you want to play 1212 AD, you would have to subscribe to the mod on their steam page.

How do i know this is working?

I've done 5-7 or so battles and i haven't seen "shield pushing on shield" or face punching or anything ordinary out of vanilla duels i think

i've put it at the top of my mod loader

@zcboyd I'm glad you are enjoying the mod! Unfortunately though, I'm not aware of any current firearm mods and have no idea how to make them. To my knowledge, at least for Attila and Rome II, you can't actually create new animations, only modify how and when existing animations are used.

If I had to guess, the gun units in 1212 use the crossbow animation which is why they look a bit strange. Maybe someday it will be possible to port over the Warhammer gun animations, as some Rome II/Atilla animations have recently been ported over to Warhammer II.

@the_moon_wolfy If its working correctly, you should be seeing an increase in variety in death animations across all weapon types as well as more matched combat between units. Make sure that you have the mod loaded above all of the other 1212 AD modules in the mod manager.
